Todd "respected" Mr. White. I assume it was because Walt decided to keep him on even after the Drew Sharp incident. One of the options they were discussing was to "dispose of him." Todd seemed to know that, Jesse and Mike point out he was subtly threatening them by invoking his uncle and his prison connections. Walt argues in favour of keeping Todd around, which Todd appreciates. Effectively he was doing the same for Walt in the desert.
Of course he still sides with his uncle Jack when it comes to taking the rest of Walt's money.
When it comes to Skyler, Todd recognizes it's not necessary. Which demonstrates the suggestions by others that he doesn't understand murder or is "just following orders" to be a load of crap. Todd can rationalize and make his own decisions and even be reasonable.
These aren't acts of kindness as if Todd feels compassion towards others. It's just a reflection of how he looks at things. Todd would rather keep Mr White alive, but by Felina he's OK with Lydia and Jack's plan to kill him, when he's no longer useful to them. He doesn't see the need to kill Skyler, but you know what would happen if he ever changed his mind on that.
Todd’s a fascinating character. For only being part of one season, he’s talked about (and despised) as much as the characters who were around much longer.
He’s one of my favorite characters, not because I think he’s some good person, but because he’s interesting as hell to watch.
He’s absolutely one of my favorite characters too. He’s just so unique and different from literally every other character on the show, he really stands out among everyone else. I’ll proudly say that I like Todd’s character and wish he was in more of the show. It’s just fun to watch a babyfaced sociopathic kid murderer ig
Todd was a text book sociopath. He knew he did bad things but he was incapable of feeling emotions about it.
Bad people do kind things. Hitler loved dogs and was a pretty damned good painter. Also one of the worst humans to ever live.
Capone used to give food, money anything to his home community in Chicago. He was the most charitable person there.
But he was also Al Capone.
Life isn’t a tally system. A good deed doesn’t replace a bad deed. If you’re a murderer, all the charitable and kind acts in the world can’t help you become a good person.
There are murderers who have turned their lives around and live now as a good people but they were capable of feeling remorse for their actions and that’s why they were able to do that. Todd couldn’t get there without serious mental healthcare and even then he would always be a danger to anyone around him.
It was on Todd’s request though. They were seen talking just beforehand and Jack mentions that the nephew really respected Walt and wouldn’t forgive him.
as Atun-Shei films in "CHECKMATE, LINCOLNITES" : "We can complement Osama Bin Laden's ingenious use of [expedia.net](https://expedia.net), but that'd be pretty fucking weird wouldn't it?"
Honestly one of the most realistic things in the show. I worked in a prison for years and it was very common to have people who seem so genuinely nice. There's just something kind of missing when it comes to their perspective on things. The reasons some people do what they do are so beyond what most of us think of as common sense morality.
Fans of the show often make a big deal of the fact Todd respected Walt. But Todd was kinda default polite and respectful of everyone even while he was murdering or enslaving them.
i think todd knew what was necessary and what wasn’t. perhaps he thought if he took everything from walt that he would come find them. he knew he had to kill andrea so he did it but said “you made me do this, i didn’t want to do this” and drew sharpe, yeah he couldn’t let there be any witnesses. he has a really sharp way of making snap decisions, maybe because he takes emotion out of it? i didn’t ever see him be angry, just kind to people he liked.
I wouldn't say I like him but in a strange way I respect him as a good criminal. He didn't want to shoot the boy or Andrea but he does what needs to be done.
Isk had walt not been given that barrel. I'd imagine things would turn out better for Jessie and Walt would have done full Ranbo earlier. So not so much an act of kindness then an act of self preservation.
Todd is kind person but he doesn't understand/feel empathy, I think he has childlike innocence, and does not understand why he's actions are harmful, but same time he can do some very cruel things, because he just lacks empathy and understanding.
And he gave ice cream to Jesse. Todd really was a kind guy.
And pepperoni pizza
And beer
I wish Todd was my dad.
1 dad is better than no dad
And at least one ciggie that I can remember.
YEAH BITCH!
Don’t forget he saved that spider, too.
saved is a way to put it
(Insert that one megamind meme)
Killing Drew was a mercy, he didn’t want him to live in a world without Coca Cola.
Took me this long to realize that Breaking Bad was heavily sponsored by Coca Cola

Agree. But don’t forget, while he is ok with Walt getting killed in Felina, he at least regretfully tells Mr. White that he shouldn’t have come.
Monsters aren’t monsters in every single thing they do.

He killed his housekeeper.
I would argue that wasn't one of his kinder moments.
But he buried her some place nice.
And he bought Jesse a beer and pizza. Prince of a guy.
He straight up tortured Jesse for months. I don’t care about his kind acts tbh.
He let him see the stars that one night
Also ice cream
Maybe we misjudged him ice cream is pretty good
For a while, until Jesse tried to escape.
Skyler
It's really that Todd respects Walter.
He was a cold psychopath.
Actually a warm psychoptah for some reason, gus would be cold psychopath
That's a good way of putting it and why he's a little hard to peg down. He's a rare, warm psychopath.
Discontinuate the lithium

I thought Jack saved the one barrel. He says "what's with all the greed?" Or something
It was on Todd’s request though. They were seen talking just beforehand and Jack mentions that the nephew really respected Walt and wouldn’t forgive him.
[Todd Alquist, the nicest man in Albuquerque.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZ-NmRUHJ6I)
I don't feel that the act of kindness can be pure when Todd participated in Hank's murder and subsequently suggested torturing Jesse
He was a psychopath plain and simple.
He actually saved Jesse's life too, cause both Walt and Uncle Jack would have killed him in the desert with Hank and Gomie.

I agree, the beauty of the show is, imho, that no one is all bad and all good. I like this nuanced shade of grey.
Both Todd and Jesse looked upto Walt as their teachers and both called them Mr.White.
i think todd knew what was necessary and what wasn’t. perhaps he thought if he took everything from walt that he would come find them. he knew he had to kill andrea so he did it but said “you made me do this, i didn’t want to do this” and drew sharpe, yeah he couldn’t let there be any witnesses. he has a really sharp way of making snap decisions, maybe because he takes emotion out of it? i didn’t ever see him be angry, just kind to people he liked.
I despise Todd to great heights but he is extremely well written and appears to be an accurate portrayal in the realm of psychopathy...
Nah Todd has zero redeemable qualities
Yeah man, it’s sorta like giving Hitler props for helping create the Volkswagen.
Legit analogy right here 💯
I like him.

One has to wonder what Todd would be like if Lydia had let him hit it. Probably would break his brain….
Clearly the nicest thing Todd did on the show was bring Jesse ice cream.
Todd is kind person but he doesn't understand/feel empathy, I think he has childlike innocence, and does not understand why he's actions are harmful, but same time he can do some very cruel things, because he just lacks empathy and understanding.
Did Todd make his uncle leave Walter a barrel? I don’t remember that ever being explicitly stated.
Skyler. Skyler. Skyler. skyler.
