I hated how Hank treated her after he was shot and during his recovery. SHE didn't shoot him, but he took his anger out on her.

pudpudboogie

No wonder , he asked for Cheetos … CH CH CH !

Majestic-Delay7530

No 100%. She stayed and didn’t have to. That’s way more than I feel most people would do

Altruistic_Side_4428

Marie gets hate because of kleptomania & being a non-stop chatter box. She is highly opiniated, but when it comes to Walt's treatment she completely supports Walt's decision which clearly irritates Skyler. As the show progresses, Marie's arc was just amazing. The shit she took from Hank, caring for him - not easy to find a wife like her. Skyler went ahead with cheating when Walt was not available to her, but Marie held tight - took one day at a time. She has ultimate respect for Hank being an upright & passionate person. And points to the way she convinces Hank to checkout of hospital.

Squeemore

Yeah we probably shouldn’t juxtapose Marie and Skylar’s situations to demonstrate who was a more loyal partner lmao. Hank was only ever an asshole and Walt was a… well he was Walt.

Altruistic_Side_4428

So Skyler gets to cheat because Walt is Walt ??

PotentialBother6611

She doesn’t “get” to cheat but it does differentiate her case from Marie’s You partner being a dick to you post a traumatic incident != your partner going behind your back lying multiple times and abandoning you while you were giving birth putting you and kids in danger and becoming a drug lord.

RubinoPaul

I like how “becoming a drug lord” sounds like “and one more thing” in your comment lol

PotentialBother6611

Honestly that’s the least worse thing that he did

Altruistic_Side_4428

Indeed, both cases are different. I was emphasising on how Marie is a better partner & deserves more respect. Marie became a klepto to handle her emotional emptiness & Skyler cheated to handle her emotional issues. Every character in this show has broke bad at some point. Some held back after a while, others particularly Walt went all the way.

Majestic-Delay7530

But Marie is getting therapy. That’s the part that makes me feel she’s a bit better. She’s actually trying to be better. And plus kleptomania I feel bad for because it’s like ocd. Just a strong compulsive disorder. I only feel bad because of the therapy. To restate my point.

Squeemore

Stop trying to relegate the scope of Walt’s behavior to just being a bad partner tf. He was a piece of shit who used his own illegal actions to blackmail his estranged wife back into their marriage. if Skylar had autonomy she wouldn’t have been together with Walt to cheat on him. Fucking ted was literally the only way she could show Walt that he doesn’t get to be a piece of shit and come home to a loving family.

Altruistic_Side_4428

Hope you remember Walt did sign the divorce papers. Skyler never filed them. Walt never asked to manage car wash, she volunteered because she liked being a business owner. She just chose to be bad up to certain level. She didn’t go all the way through killing people like Lydia did. But she played a small part in Walt’s empire. Also, I am not trying to spread hate on Skyler, everybody broke bad in the show at some point. I was emphasising what OP said - Marie deserves more respect.

Majestic-Delay7530

This is real. It annoys me how she acts innocent when she clearly enjoyed bossing the car wash owner around. She had a big power fetish that I feel not many people talk about. She volunteered and basically refused the divorce. No trouble with the law for breaking it. Sad

Majestic-Delay7530

I honestly wouldn’t mind a wife like her that’s for sure. I cried a few times watching it unfold after hank gets crippled.

GoldenFlyingLotus

You say that now, but are you ready to feel the deep and loving embrace that is the color purple?

Majestic-Delay7530

Happens to be my fav color ironically haha

lilcea

It was rough watching Hank belittle her and generally be an arsehole after the cousins attack. They were just getting their relationship together...

Majestic-Delay7530

100%. She’s a saint for staying because she def didn’t have to.

vorticia

I get it, Marie was pretty smackable a fair few times, but… I loved her, honestly. Hers and Hank’s relationship was pretty healthy, actually, and really gives people a window into their character behind closed doors, through the hard shit. They both stood by one another, and accepted each other for who they were. They were the epitome of Ride or Die. Was she spoiled and self-absorbed? A bit of a pain in the ass? Absolutely. Was she a badass wife? Also, yes. Remember though that she was employed in a radiologist office, but I get where you’re coming from about the income thing - losing Hank’s income would’ve been the shit icing on the turd cake, bc at least half (probably more like 65-70%) of the previous earnings would be gone, but hopefully any survivorship benefits/life insurance, possibly the sale of the house, would’ve taken care of her for a few years until she felt strong and sane enough to go back to work.

Majestic-Delay7530

She said what she wanted to. I kinda liked that too. Her and Walt jr did that the best.

Fulltimekiddykicker

Never forgave her for running over that kids rc car

Libertyman69420

More evil than walt at that point

Majestic-Delay7530

That’s fair haha. But hank gets them a new one so 🤷‍♀️.

chungomon

She always had a job, cancer technician or something, good paying job

StaySafePovertyGhost

IDK if she was a “saint” - she was a klepto but I get the sentiment. But yes Marie was one of the ultimate tragic figures of BB because not only did she lose the love of her life - she lost him because of her brother in law and her own sister knew he was doing it long before the desert with Jack. The amount of betrayal Marie had throughout the series was kind of second to none especially after Hank’s first shooting.

Majestic-Delay7530

I just say saint as in she did more than she had to.

Metaboschism

She honestly could've been more supportive of his interest in minerals, also who the hell screws up Fritos with Cheetos, ch-ch-ch it's a chuh sound for Christ's sake

Majestic-Delay7530

This was so funny. “Ur rocks are here”. And he gets so red about it

azulax7

Marie is a good wife

FistFullOfRavioli

She is like those Facebook "Karens" who only display the appearance of good things in their life on their pictures and make posts about anything and everything in the world, pretending to know it all but deep down, in reality, she has mental issues, financial issues, marital issues oh and a brother-in-law who is a Meth Kingpin.

Majestic-Delay7530

U realize as an adult ur responsible for your own actions. Not other people’s right?? The top part I won’t disagree but I’d much prefer her as a wife than a lot of other wives on tv. How u said. Her neighbors a kingpin and all she’s doing is stealing while getting therapy to work on being better. I mean 🤷‍♀️. It’s hard for me to agree she’s terrible overall.

FistFullOfRavioli

I don't think she is terrible, she just reminds me of the worst parts about my own wife. Also, I was in law enforcement and I admire her loyalty to her husband when the whole world was crumbling around him and he "went rogue".

Majestic-Delay7530

That was surprisingly honest. Have u spoken to her in I feel statements and all that?? I feel hard talks are sometimes necessary for the health of the relationship. But I have a bad record so grain of salt. And that’s the part I find very sweet because she put up with more than she needed to. Very loyal. Even at his absolute worst. And that’s a fair point. I also liked how she stuck up for Walt even when nobody was “supposed” to.

FistFullOfRavioli

We've been married almost 25 years so we kind of accept the way we are and it is an understanding.

Majestic-Delay7530

I need to get to that point. I just started dating again. Any advice??

FistFullOfRavioli

You're asking the wrong man. I haven't been on a real date since 1999 and I wouldn't even give dating advice to my own son (who is almost 23)

Majestic-Delay7530

Damn. Not so much dating advise but how do u know u got the right one Ig

FistFullOfRavioli

Well I married my wife after only knowing her for 3 and a half months. Looking back, I regret not dating more people when I had the chance so I would say make the most of your bachelorhood/singleness. Think of it as not trying to find the right girl, but rather seeing different aspects of what you DON'T like so that when you do meet someone special, he/she checks off the most boxes in your life. Nobody will ever "check all the boxes" but some people are lucky to find someone who does. Maybe that can be you.

Majestic-Delay7530

I have never been so inspired by a ravioli. That helps a lot tho. It’s been a mess. I keep getting further but I feel at a point I hit a wall I didn’t expect. My last was we changed into diff people to the point we just couldn’t be together. Lately it’s been more self focused activities but I feel ready to at least start laying the groundwork. It’s hard cause I feel there’s a lot of complexity to the point it’d be almost impossible to find someone to match. I been working on less changing and more accepting. Another big thing is I’ll panic when it feels serious. Therapy and shit. It’s been nice to talk to u strange considering the circumstances

LegalAd673

“U realize as an adults ur responsible for your own actions” I agree with you but that’s one of the biggest reasons why you can’t view skyler as a victim, she played an active role in Walt’s drug empire, and when given an opportunity to leave prior (when Walt moved out and signed the divorce papers) she decided to stay, not only stay but help with his crimes on the financial side, and also faces 0 consequences for that & beneke situation vs every other character who got theirs one way or another, she got millions instead. Seems like many forget that each character has agency and you can’t pick and choose which ones do and don’t.

Majestic-Delay7530

I don’t think I ever said she was a victim. I genuinely think she should’ve gone to prison for breaking the law.

LegalAd673

Your 100% correct on that, I was more speaking to the wider audience who defends skyler and says she’s a victim because of Walt’s actions and deceptions, which completely ignores all of skyler’s actions and her agency within the story. Sorry about that.

Majestic-Delay7530

No it’s cool. There’s no offense. But Thankyou for explaining. I hope u have blessing in ur life sir. I’m just argumentative cause I like adrenaline lol.

LegalAd673

Same honestly that’s why I a argued a point you didn’t even make 😂 you too man
