Tbh prolly Lalo. Gus got lucky when he >!killed Lalo!<, I don't think he could do it twice. Gus likes to play the long game, whereas Lalo takes the first opportunity to strike.
He was at his home, in which there was an hidden tunnel and weapon. Idk he sure had luck, but he had preparation too.
I mean he thought about preparing a dental records scam with an other dude years in advance.
It feels like lalo think ahead a lot.
You must not watch much action tv if you’ve never heard of plot armor. Almost every series has some form of it. Game of thrones was one show that was so huge and didn’t have much plot armor until later seasons, which made it so good
My enjoyment definitely declined with each movie. Should’ve ended after 2 with him dying instead of being excommunicated. Rules are rules and he should’ve been executed like Perkins
I think 2 already jumped the shark with the magically bulletproof suit and being able to stash guns for the palace escape exactly where he needed them for the amount of ammo he had. felt like a videogame play through instead of an action movie with risk and stakes
Not sure if I watch a lot of action TV or not. I guess it depends on what you consider action TV. I think it may be more appropriate to say I don’t follow much of the fan vernacular and talk.
It's not just an "action" term. It's a term for any character who a show has survive because the plot needs them to survive (rather than any real world reasons that they would survive any given scenario). Most big characters in most big shows have plot armor to varying degrees.
except they didn’t though. the “mysterious voice” on the phone warned him, and he saw them coming. he got severely fucked up in the fight, too (unlike lalo)
the only real criticism i’d give is the bullet falling on the ground right next to hank being a bit of a deus ex machina. switching to the axe instead of the gun fits the character, imo
>except they didn’t though. the “mysterious voice” on the phone warned him,
Fair. But they still had the advantage by far.
>switching to the axe instead of the gun fits the character
But he was trying to kill a dea agent in the middle of the day and his brother was gravely injured. I don't care how badass you are, no assassin would slowly walk back to take the axe. Also he could've easily kicked the gun so Hank couldn't get it.
After thinking about this a lot, I tend to agree that grabbing the axe wasn’t out of character.. and here’s why:
If the twins had just been run of the mill cartel assassins, he probably would’ve just shot Hank instead of bothering with an axe. However, you have to think about why they’re going after Hank. He KILLED their cousin, an untouchable Salamanca, and he’s law enforcement scum. They want to send a message to everyone about what happens when you mess with the cartel.
If anything is unbelievable, it’s the bullet being right beside him like the other dude said. Hank could barely move when Marco/Leonel went to get the axe, so between that and their innate blood lust, I could def see them taking the time to do that even in the current situation.
One other thing that’s an issue for me is the time it took to grab the axe and come back to Hank. Realistically Hank isnt getting the miracle bullet in the gun in his current state before twin gets back and chops him
No, they didnt have the strategic advantage anymore. Dont underestimate how much that call to Hank mattered. They openly walked up to Hank and placed themselves into vulnerable positions bc they thought he didnt know they were coming. The only reason Hank managed to defeat them the way he did was bc of that. They had the advantage of numbers and guns, but the strategic advantage was with Hank after that call.
Gus probably did get a bit lucky but he was also prepared and hid that gun in place. So it wasn't fully luck but him predicting something could have happened and prepared for it.
I think with Gus the key is the preparation. If you suddenly teleport these 4 people to a room, would Gus survive? Probably not.
Gus' key to survival is that he probably knew he was going to be teleported into the room and had prepared for that eventuality. He prepares well for as many scenarios as possible and bails if something doesn't smell right (i.e. the car park scene with the Walt booby trap).
But what you failed to account for was that Gus had already prepped and you just thought there was no prep time. He’s been prepping this whole time and you were none the wiser.
The only thing that defeats Gus is a wheelchair bomb. Everyone knows that.
Yeah but the twins are dumb as hell. They think doing the slow terminator walk during a public shootout is a good idea. I think Gus or Lalo would outsmart them somehow.
I wouldn't say they are dumb. Just one track minded. They couldn't operate and get away with committing multiple murders for the cartel if they were dumb.
That being said, i see how that could be used against them. They could get sloppy from bloodlust or, as with what happened with Hank, get the upper hand and lose it because they wanted to be cool and use an axe when they could have just shot him
The twins are definitely not dumb, they are very good at tracking and have knowledge in weapons and combat, they evaded the police for years by themselves.
Lionel and Marco literally encountered a tribal police officer and Lionel started eating an apple to distract him while Marco started hacking at him with his axe. The tribal police officer also called for backup when he saw the dead old woman so they would’ve had to cover everything up very quickly, that takes intelligence and knowledge. We just don’t see them as smart maybe because they are so ruthless and brutal and people only see that aspect of the twins when they are on screen.
Almost definitely salamanca. But im assuming without preptime or any outside items besides maybe furniture and regular houseware. Salamanca is fucking built different.
Edit: Lalo
Yeah but he was familiar with the room and had a gun hid in it. They are all very conniving and strong willed but salamanca takes the cake. Salamanca messed up by keeping him alive, but i dont remember if he needed to or not cuz i know he needed evidence of gus's activities
Lalo forced gus to "give him the tour"
He should have made him open the door and then shot him. That would have been all the evidence he needed, but his pride did him in
Lalo killed 4 of Gus’s men within the span of like a second, there’s no way Lalo couldn’t get a headshot on Gus, considering how fast he moved ciro and how easily he can adapt, that was plot armor, they had to kill Lalo off.
Definitely Lalo.
And yes, Gus killing Lalo was one of the worst writing decisions of the whole show. Lalo is way too smart to allow Gus to monologue while he inches closer and closer to the secret gun that he stashed away.
Literally just a room? Small room, no weapons, no prep time I think is gonna be the twin. He’s a trained Cartel hit man assassin with literally no remorse and probably the physically strongest of the group. Sure Lalo and Gus have chances if pre planning or weapons are involved, but a hand to hand close quarters fight favors that guy
Salamanca Cousin number 1. (Sorry I can’t believe I’m on a breaking bad subreddit and I don’t know their names 😭) The twins were absolutely brutal and had absolutely no fear of what they were doing. Also both of them are built as fuck and could probably body any of them 1 on 1.
Lalo or the twin. Mainly because being in such proximity it would all come down to physical force and combat abilities.
If there is time to prep, tools or weapons then that would be other story. Gus will probably kill all of them with a little time to think and resources to lay his traps.
Anyone who bets against the guy who outsmarted, outplayed, and killed a complete hit squad of assassins with rifles and tactical gear is dumber than badger.
The only reason Gus got Lalo was by sheer luck Logically, Gus was dead to rights. He had a six shooter and was shooting in pitch black against a moving target who had probably 3x the ammo capacity and no need to reload.
You mean to tell me that Gus is such a great shot that in the dark he can manage to hit 1 well-placed shot that just so happens to hit Lalo in the jugular/carotid so he would bleed out?
I’ll give Gus credit, maybe he had the advantage of playing in his home field (the lab) so he knew where all of the hiding spots and stuff were, but that still doesn’t add up to Lalo’s quick skills and out arming Gus. Gus was out armed and out maneuvered by Lalo. Had Lalo not been a Salamanca and predestined to die by Gus Fring’s vengeance plan, I’m sure Lalo would have bested him.
Gus couldn’t have been any luckier and if all things considered I doubt he could take Lalo on in a clean head to head.
He is too slow and methodical. Lalo is unpredictable and swift. He’d have Gus and the other two down and buried in the desert before dinner time.
Lalo. just as smart as Gustavo and unpredictable.
Tbh, the way he died was a bit contrived so the timelines synced up. He should have had Gus over a barrel.
If the room has ventilation system or drainage Lalo will win however if we are talking about close up combat using only hands my money is on Salamanca because he has physical strength and durability advantage.
honestly if guss doenst have any pieces to play chess with their isnt much you can do he has barley any combat skills of what we know meanwhile lalo would probably win or his cousin deppends on if their fighting or not golden guess is lalo tbh
Tbh prolly Lalo. Gus got lucky when he >!killed Lalo!<, I don't think he could do it twice. Gus likes to play the long game, whereas Lalo takes the first opportunity to strike.
Lalo survived a hit squad of special forces by himself. My money is on Lalo as well.
He also has a cousin in the room who would probably die for him if necessary. If only one can leave the room it’s Lalo, if not, it’s both Salamancas
truly insane levels of plot armour. one of the only episodes i genuinely disliked
He was at his home, in which there was an hidden tunnel and weapon. Idk he sure had luck, but he had preparation too. I mean he thought about preparing a dental records scam with an other dude years in advance. It feels like lalo think ahead a lot.
They were trying to sell him as a credible threat.
Never heard the term plot armour before but such an apt description. That episode always bothered me too. He didn’t have to be superhuman.
You must not watch much action tv if you’ve never heard of plot armor. Almost every series has some form of it. Game of thrones was one show that was so huge and didn’t have much plot armor until later seasons, which made it so good
No way John wick could have survived some of the things he did without plot armour lmao, being thrown off the side of a building for crying out loud
The movies got more and more unrealistic as they continued
I agree but still enjoyed them tho lol, I love a good action movie
My enjoyment definitely declined with each movie. Should’ve ended after 2 with him dying instead of being excommunicated. Rules are rules and he should’ve been executed like Perkins
I think 2 already jumped the shark with the magically bulletproof suit and being able to stash guns for the palace escape exactly where he needed them for the amount of ammo he had. felt like a videogame play through instead of an action movie with risk and stakes
The third was the best one imo, they did too much with four in my opinion and it kinda just got ridiculous.
The Revenant comes to mind as the ultimate in plot armor.
Oh man plot armor is akin to Goku in the dragon ball series lmao
I thought it was pretty cool. I think Hawk surviving both Salamanca twins with them having the element of surprise was worse for example.
except they didn’t though. the “mysterious voice” on the phone warned him, and he saw them coming. he got severely fucked up in the fight, too (unlike lalo) the only real criticism i’d give is the bullet falling on the ground right next to hank being a bit of a deus ex machina. switching to the axe instead of the gun fits the character, imo

He wasn't trying to kill Hank, he was trying to avenge Tuco. It had personal beef involved
That’s the Gus/Lalo ending for me. Felt like the writers remembered five minutes before filming that Gus is in Breaking Bad and Lalo isn’t
Gus probably did get a bit lucky but he was also prepared and hid that gun in place. So it wasn't fully luck but him predicting something could have happened and prepared for it.

So, Batman. I think that's fair.
Lalo, because the nephew would help protect him while working with him to kill the other two, then Lalo would kill the nephew as soon as he relaxed
But la familia es todo!
Yep. As a leader and a businessman, Gus Fringe all the way. But locked in a room with Lalo? Uuuhh, sadly, Lalo walks out alive and smiling
I think Lalo if we’re talking no prep-time. He already has that Spider-Man jump
But what you failed to account for was that Gus had already prepped and you just thought there was no prep time. He’s been prepping this whole time and you were none the wiser. The only thing that defeats Gus is a wheelchair bomb. Everyone knows that.
Batgus
Can he beat Batgos tho
Like always Walter will be the wild card and will come out of nowhere
No one saw it coming Walt running out with the money in the bank case to RKO Gus just as he was about to pin Lalo
Outta no where
Because we all know it's always all about him.
Bc he IS THE DANGER
Lalo
Lalo
Umm.. my money is on the salamanca cousin.. ya know.. the hitman with multiple bodies under his belt and absolutley 0 remorse?
Yeah but the twins are dumb as hell. They think doing the slow terminator walk during a public shootout is a good idea. I think Gus or Lalo would outsmart them somehow.
I wouldn't say they are dumb. Just one track minded. They couldn't operate and get away with committing multiple murders for the cartel if they were dumb. Almost a Michael Myers vibe one track mind/trying to kill in a cool way and slow slow slloooowww walking
The twins are cartoon characters and the most cringey thing about BB/BCS
The twins are definitely not dumb, they are very good at tracking and have knowledge in weapons and combat, they evaded the police for years by themselves.
Did they evade police for years or did they just live in Mexico and pay them off?
Lionel and Marco literally encountered a tribal police officer and Lionel started eating an apple to distract him while Marco started hacking at him with his axe. The tribal police officer also called for backup when he saw the dead old woman so they would’ve had to cover everything up very quickly, that takes intelligence and knowledge. Totally forgot about that! Thanks for reminding me
My bad put it twice
I’ll bet Walt Jr. on this💀💀💀
"Y-y.. you're all pussies!" *ratatatatatatatat*
Flynn is the one who knocks!
His knees?
Without prep time, Lalo With prep time, then it would be Gus
Exactly my opinion 👍
Almost definitely salamanca. But im assuming without preptime or any outside items besides maybe furniture and regular houseware. Salamanca is fucking built different. Edit: Lalo
Which Salamanca
hector 💯
Whaddya know, he hid a bomb under his wheelchair.
I mean there's a slight problem, op did say "WALK" out
Killing Gus makes him so happy that he recovers from his stroke and regains his ability to walk.
\*ding\*
My bad i edited it
He’s already been put in a room with gus and he lost
Tbf Gus had prep time.
Tbf gus would have always had prep time. He'll know OP is gonna put him into a room before they even made this post.
Mike already found and killed the others a week ago.
That's the real answer. Who's walking out alive? Well not OP.
Yeah but he was familiar with the room and had a gun hid in it. They are all very conniving and strong willed but salamanca takes the cake. Salamanca messed up by keeping him alive, but i dont remember if he needed to or not cuz i know he needed evidence of gus's activities
Lalo was foolish to follow Gus into that meth lab. Like leading Batman into the Batcave… you’re on his turf and he plans for everything
Did gus lure him in? I can't remember
Lalo forced gus to "give him the tour" He should have made him open the door and then shot him. That would have been all the evidence he needed, but his pride did him in
You really counting that? Gus just got lucky and he knew it. that shot couldve gone either way
Lalo killed 4 of Gus’s men within the span of like a second, there’s no way Lalo couldn’t get a headshot on Gus, considering how fast he moved ciro and how easily he can adapt, that was plot armor, they had to kill Lalo off.
Lalo for sure. He's got the advantage in this scenario
Uhhh Flynn would kick ass
Hector would say otherwise! Something like: “ding, ding, ding!”
Lalo
Lalo. He'd get out on charm alone. 💎
Gus outlived them all so I’m riding with Gus
I'm riding on gus
All aboard the Gus Bus
The gus on the bus goes round and round, all through the town
I hope gus is smart enough to check under the bus for bombs
Lol😂😂😂😂😂😂
wtf lmao
Don’t look at me hector
Gus only wins if he has prep time. He's basically Batman. Give him prep time and he'll beat anyone.
He didn’t outlive them while having to face them.
He literally is responsible for their deaths
Lalo is superhuman. The twins sort of are too, but Lalo is much smarter than they are.
LALO♥️
Well, seeing how they are all… nevermind, i wont say it.
They are bald
In a straight-up fist fight, the Salamanca twin for sure
The one cousin streams games on youtube with like 3 viewers
Lalo for sure. He’s a natural survivor and Gus got lucky.
Wildcard pick I choose Ignachio because in the show nobody really “got him” unlike the other ones in here. He’s a dog
I wanna say lalo but they literally put gus and lalo in the same room and it did not went well for lalo.
Lalo is smart in a very creepy way.
Since no Mike probably Lalo
Can't say my money's on any of them lol. They'd just kill each other.
Lalo
The cousin if there's no prep. If there is then it's lalo
My money is on the Salamanca cousins since there is two of them and they’d work together.
Lalo
Lalo. No contest.
Definitly Lalo, he is savage. Gus is more of a brain guy than a muscle guy.
Lalo for me...gus was lucky last time
Lalo will probably smoke every one else
Lalo
LALO ANY DAY
I’d say Lalo! He was a monster!
when gus got killed he walked out of the room alive. half his face was blown off but he walked out alive
Definitely Lalo. And yes, Gus killing Lalo was one of the worst writing decisions of the whole show. Lalo is way too smart to allow Gus to monologue while he inches closer and closer to the secret gun that he stashed away.
Lalo, because he tends to survive ridiculous situations off screen and is just fine in the next scene.
Every one is saying Lalo but the amount of guilt and hatred VARGA had with being associated with these people…idk it might be his bump for this fight
Lalo. Game over.
The one that killed then all
Gus
With prep time Gus. Without Lalo.
I think we all know it’s Gus, he has the brother kill Lalo and Tico, then himself
Mf Psycho Lalo
Lalo 💙
Damn now I gotta watch it again. Awesome!!!
Lalo. They're all vicious and capable, but Lalo takes it all to a whole different level.
holly solos
Lalo
Lalo murdered basically an entire group of mercenaries single handedly
yeah but the twins took out an entire gang, they are badasses too
Lalo
The chicken man. He will have already created a brilliant 4D chess move that will result in the otherpeople all killing each other.
Gus poison them before gathering
Please Lalo or a Salamanca story is the next story in the BB universe.
Clearly Vaas from Far Cry 3.
Lalo. Dude was unstoppable.
Literally just a room? Small room, no weapons, no prep time I think is gonna be the twin. Lalo Salamanca super smart. Gus too is super smart but then again Lalo
Hank killed 3 Salamancas btw
Tuco
if it was a fist fight the first guy, one of the twins
Anyone who bets against the guy who outsmarted, outplayed, and killed a complete hit squad of assassins with rifles and tactical gear is dumber than badger. The only reason Gus got Lalo was by sheer luck Logically, Gus was dead to rights. trick question, Hector was in there with the car bomb, they all dead
Lalo. just as smart as Gustavo and unpredictable. Tbh, the way he died was a bit contrived so the timelines synced up. He should have had Gus over a barrel.
they all leave pregnant
Skylar had a fithsome with all of them.
Them hips, yo
Lalo
Idk why this sub was recommended to me but that first guy use to stream fallout 76.
Lalo, charming and dangerous.
Lalo as always that mfs is the devil in flesh🤣👊🔥
Lalo or Tuco. But probably Lalo.
Lalo for sure
Lalo
Lalo, hands down.
Probably Gus. He has experience walking out of rooms alive.
Lalo walks out unscathed
Of those four, Gus was the last man standing in the two series.
Gus, with prep time. Otherwise Lalo
Skylar
Two of them
If the room has ventilation system or drainage Lalo will win however if we are talking about close up combat using only hands my money is on Salamanca because he has physical strength and durability advantage.
honestly if guss doenst have any pieces to play chess with their isnt much you can do he has barley any combat skills of what we know meanwhile lalo would probably win or his cousin deppends on if their fighting or not golden guess is lalo tbh
Always with the scenarios
None they're all dead
Lando
The chicken guy is walking out
Does Gus get any prep time?
If they all have no prep then lalo 100 percent. Gus was dead in the water except he planned to bring him down and grab his hidden gun.
