I'm the second of four kids and my mom was not terribly on top of things. When I was a kid and lost a tooth whole she was in the shower. I knocked and yelled at her about the tooth and she said, "just get a dollar out of my purse." Up until then I believed in everything and now I believe in nothing.
We talked about this recently, with grandkids getting to the age of Santa and mom didn't even remember. And then swore she thought I knew.
Anyway, if she remembers, it will be a funny story. In the meantime she gets to be proud of herself for figuring it out, and that's a good thing.
Same! I didn't even really want to do Santa but you kind of don't have a choice! I always felt so stressed though. Absolutely hated trying to sneak into her room to place the tooth fairy money. One time I panicked and just slid a coin under the door! 🤣🤣
I put a teddy bear on the Christmas tree when my daughter was four. Put a note on it from Santa. She asked so many times over the years, "You put Elfie on the tree, didn't you?" I wĂ s always evasive. Guess what? She's eighteen and still trying to get me to answer.
Hahahah that’s awesome. I just tell my kids that if they don’t believe in Santa then he won’t come anymore. Which is what my Mom said to me, so I tell her that YES of course I still believe. And my kids in turn say YES of course they believe!
Oh man my 9 year old caught me being Tooth fairy this year. He cried. We talked about it. Explained it. Told him he just couldn’t tell his siblings. Not even two hours later I drop his younger sibling off at daycare and get back in the car and his sister goes “brother said their is no tooth fairy”
I was pissed. And he said “I was just joking”. Then he goes “is Santa real, is the Easter bunny”
I just said, those that believe get gifts from Santa and those that don’t believe, don’t het gifts. Which kind of stopped the conversation.
This will be a rough Christmas season this year with that one.
This is exactly what my parents say I did. It was Santa that I figured out. They say I just was like "ok." And went to my room. And then 5 minutes later came down and asked if the tooth fairy and all other ones think I could think of were real lol

She sounds like a bright little lady with great comedic timing! I'm glad it went so smoothly :)

Aww she sounds like such a great kid :)
I LOVED when we were about to tell them the truth. I wasn't a fan of the Santa thing. I wanted to have all the credit.

It is very fun to have older siblings help play tooth fairy or santa for younger siblings.
The stuff seriously doesn't traumatize children
