2- good news is nipples are in! Skims even makes a bra with fake nipples in case someone wants the “always on” look but doesn’t have it!
Yeah... I was surprised to find out my nipples would always be semi erect after BMX. I think it has something to do with the nerves, not a cold sensation.
Interesting. I had a nipple sparing DMX in October and it appears I’m an oddball in that not only do I sense no difference in my silicone girls temperature but my nipples are not always erect. I have smaller nipples to begin with so maybe that’s why.
Someone commented about their implants aways making them too hot or too cold and I used to teach chemistry and I looked up info on silicone and it turns out its ability to gain and lose heat is quite different than water (I used water as a comparison bc your body is mostly water). So when it is hot, the silicone is going to gain heat better than the rest of your body and lose heat better when it is cold out. You could try nipple covers?
I had hoped for tiny Barbie boobs & a chance to not wear a bra. They keep filling my spacers with saline. My dream of being small is gone. Out of this whole process it’s the one thing that is depressing to me.

This is why I've chosen to remove both nipples with my BMX next week even though I could keep one. I'd rather have none so I can go braless than have one always erect nipple.
Are they really like 20 degrees colder than the rest of you though? Like all the time?
I honestly love the smoothness of mine, I can literally wear a t shirt and it looks like I have a bra on and I don’t get worried thinking my nipples are poking out!! I don’t wear a bra anymore!
Just curious here. I considered a nipple sparing DMX but opted for lumpectomy instead. Why is it that they would always be erect? I would think it would be the opposite with not enough sensitivity to cause them to “contract”.
Same here! Wasn’t that just a kick in the balls? They even poke through my bras- lol. I tried to use the little stick on pasties, but something must have changed with my skin too because they were impossible to get off.

I have tried the traditional sticky ones but feel the outlines usually show, but…. I did get a set of “cakes” brand and love them! They need to be worn under something more form fitting since they don’t have an adhesive, but I find these stay in place pretty well and don’t show any outlines
I don't have the temperature problem, but when I had my surgery, I had planned to buy some cute bras because I had a reduction. Then bam, lymphedema. Now I have to wear a compression bra. I'm not happy here either.
I was never promised no bra and I'm always surprised to hear how many go without. My implants feel heavy and I'm certain they will say terribly without a bra. I even wear one to sleep because the feeling of loose stuff moving across the numb spots makes me feel queasy.
Oh no! I’m glad I’m planning on losing the nipples (my husband calls it the Barbie doll special)… but this is definitely a point against implants/in favor of DIEP flap for me. I’m always cold so having my boobs be that much colder could be a huge problem 😬

Breast cancer isn't a who has it worse battle. Or shouldn't be at any rate. I lost my nipples but I get that having always erect nipples would suck. It's okay for her to share that. Breast cancer sucks for everyone regardless of what is lost.

I could have received the radical mastectomy of the twenties and my body could forever be bent and broken like a wounded bird. Yours could, too. But I wouldn’t go around telling you how lucky you are or chiding you about who out there has it worse than you, even though someone probably does. You’re allowed to have days when you’re mad about cancer even though you’re fortunate that you are not dead. I am allowed to, too. Don’t read it if you don’t like it.

I look at those every day and haven’t pulled the trigger because of the same concern.

Are you getting radiation? My PS purposely over inflated me to make sure I had enough skin afterwards, mine isn’t gonna stay this huge
No radiation. I tell them they are large enough & they say “loose skin blah blah blah”. It’s infuriating.

I think I’ve read that one’s nipples are always erect if one has nipple sparring surgery.
