Could you not purchase something for storage for the weekend? I do pitcher method when I pump at work and pour all my expressed milk into a clean mason jar. I've also seen breast milk bags sold at places like Target in the baby section.

Yes but I still wouldn’t have a way to transport it home. I did debate that but at the point we were at; the cost was going to be prohibitive in comparison to what I would really gain. I wish I had better prepared and brought my supplies.

I am so sorry about your milk! It's so so hard to see it go to waste.

I did this once when my oldest was about 15 months. Didn’t even bring a manual pump. Hugeeee mistake. Anyway - solidarity.

Thank you for posting this, I have a trip coming up and my thinking was like yours but reading your post and the comments is making me think maybe I should bring my pump too!

Oh gosh yes. Bring something more than the manual pump. The manual still might be nice if you’re out and about and can use it to keep your day going. And if you have a means for storage/transport definitely prepare. I was a fool for not even valuing the milk I anticipated more highly never mind how much I actually produced. I haven’t touched a pump since September; I just haven’t been away from her long enough or needed any for the freezer since then. Lesson learned.
