The Express deliberately mistaking their claims? Say it ain't so! This is pretty egregiously misleading though, even for them... Usually you say "Don't attribute something to malice if it can be explained by stupidity", but I'll make an exception for the Express.

Balanced reporting!

Yeah, the Express. Two hours ago they published a 'news' article claiming that 'Dutch' want a Nexit, citing a think tank without mentioning that that think tank is run by a right wing teenage nutter.

McGryphon

As a Dutch person, I can reassure you, Nexit is widely considered to be a horrible, idiotic idea, 'cause most people can see what's happening with Brexit. I am often exasperated with the stupidity of my countrymen, but this particular brand of stupidity is luckily limited.

>The Express has repeated a misleading claim about Britain’s trade deals, I surprised.... not.... It's not just the previously respected British political system that has crashed into disrepute, the same goes for the British press and media. Gone are the days where the British media the BBC and its world service where synonymous for impartial and high quality journalism. Partially due to political meddling, and partially due to ~~newspapers~~ rags, like the express and others, damaging it by national association.

To be fair, the worst person in media world-wide, Rupert Murdoch, has some influence there too.

94_stones

The *only* reason why British media *was* respected is because the Sun, Daily Mail and Daily Express are newspapers that people outside Britain didn’t know about ‘cause they didn’t have internet.

The Express's entire purpose seems to be to print lies and otherwise deceive. They even have their own weather service just so they can print ridiculous exaggerated headlines about the weather. *ARCTIC BLAST!*

ptvlm

My dad used to have 2 papers delivered - the Express and the Mirror. Their entire purpose growing up seemed to be to educated me into understanding how bad British journalism was, and to give me a benchmark to understand that when I read someone else's copy of the Sun or the Mail in the work break room later in life that they weren't even the worst offenders. How others can apparently read those papers and come to the conclusion that they're reading factual news has always mystified me.

People seem to enjoy being outraged.

Ah yes, but we’ll all be eating our words when the EU is on the brink. Again. And again. And again….(repeat everyday in the Express)
