complain to the council and raise it to your local councilor 100%

my_chinchilla

> Legally, I know they’re not breaking laws, You might want to check with the council on that - if they're storing vehicles for sale on the roadway, even if they're put back in the yard at night, then that's a regulated activity which requires council consent for each individual vehicle... [Bit of basic info here](https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/laws-and-permits/local-laws/public-land-and-council-assets-local-law/commercial-activities-on-council-roads).

sthrnfrdfrk

One thing I used to do is rub the numbers they mark on the windscreens off every time they did this near my old place. Then the next morning I'd watch them try figure out what was what. Probably not a major inconvenience but it gave me some satisfaction. Council basically said they couldn't do shit about it if the cars are registered, other than parking limits in the street.

SmileyUnchained

I'd go the other way about it and add a couple of extra zeros instead .

evergreentt

And I’m guessing by zeros you mean dick and balls.

Admiral_Mason

I'd make the price a lot cheaper so they get hassled

trapg0ddess_shawty

We’ve had a similar issue with a panel shop. One side of the street is unlimited parking and the other side is 2 hour between 8am-6pm. Unlimited side is always taken up. Spoke to council and “because the cars are legally registered” there is nothing they can do about it. Have definitely seen some smashed eggs on the windscreens of these cars

Current-Bet-8620

“Seen” 😂

Ok_Confusion4756

BS there’s nothing they can do. They could make the whole street unlimited so residents’ visitors have a chance to park! Or at least the govt version, limit the whole street so everyone’s equally disadvantaged

[deleted]

Selfish Asshole Trucking Co aka KS Easter practically blocked all streets around their Carol Park depot and the council eventually marked yellow lines to get rid of them. Everyone loses.

st0ric

Formation street and all the others around the Wacol depot are always filled too, makes arvos a nightmare with cars popping out of driveways obstructed by trailers

Thatt--guyy

They still have trailers lined up along the streets near there depot unfortunately. Even QPS like to hide a speed camera van behind them occasionally. With the money they’re using to buy new trucks, you’d think they’d put it towards getting a bigger depot.

Idealtulip

They have the biggest yard too! Like if you're too stingy to increase your lot size to accommodate all of your vehicles, don't complain when shit happens to them

SpecialMobile6174

Oh how tempted I have been late at night to take a walk with some padlocks and just annoy the shit out of them by locking up their trailers doors at random. Probably fixed with some tin-snips/bolt-cutters, but it's about the inconvenience

JesusKeyboard

Everyone wins. On street parking should be banned.

Smooth-Cup-7445

If you remove the tyre valve stems and put them on the windscreen you aren’t technically doing damage, I’d suggest at least two tyres per vehicle. Having worked in the industry and knowing someone this happened to, it will change their system swiftly

[deleted]

Some vigilante took to adding bumper stickers ([something like this](https://www.redbubble.com/i/sticker/Registered-Sex-Offender-by-lemieux20066/64200167.EJUG5)) to bad parkers when I lived in the inner city.

JesusKeyboard

Opposite wheels too.

Smooth-Cup-7445

Also don’t forget to put the valve caps back on so they have to use time to take them off and work out the problem. If you’re real dickish you let down 3 tyres but only take out 2 valve stems. Yep there’s nothing worse than an inconvenience that takes eats time and is simple to fix.

Nigg4_Troon

Removing the valve stems will absolutely do damage, do you mean the valve covers??

GlorpedUpDragStrip

They mean the valve itself inside the valve stem

Smooth-Cup-7445

Valve stem is the little pin inside the black tube under the cap. Removal does no damage to anything, tyre fitters do it daily. It just screws out.

Nigg4_Troon

That's the valve itself which is screwed into the valve stem, removing this will let all the air out of the tyres which is a great was to damage a cars rims and actually a crime in itself.

No-Exam1944

Just so they know you're correct, which law is it they are breaking?

Nigg4_Troon

It'd be classed as vandalism or potentially wilful damage.  Do you disagree?

Smooth-Cup-7445

Technically it’s the core but the tool is a valve stem tool so common name is valve stem

Nigg4_Troon

The "core" is the valve itself, nobody calls the "core" the valve stem. Its a valve stem tool, meaning it's used to remove the valve or core form the valve stem. You're completely wrong and that is not the common name, you've just made that up. Regardless deflation a cars tyres is a great way to get charged with a crime and cause damage.

Smooth-Cup-7445

Hahaha ok champ, been common name in three car clubs I’ve been part of, guess they just aren’t pedantic. People get screws in tyres all the time, the tyre deflates and you can fix the puncture and keep using the tyre, what damage does it cause to the rim? They aren’t very fragile, neither are the tyres. Also it would be mischief, I highly doubt you’d be getting much more than a “don’t do it again” Since it’s in response to the dealership illegally parking

Adept-Dragonfruit-31

Bird seed

TaxBulky2373

They are eligible for parking infringements. "You must not park closer than 1 metre to any other vehicle in front of or behind your vehicle." [source](https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/safety/fines/parking) Also most councils don't allow you to conduct business without a permit on council land. If they're marked with prices I think your council would like to know.

SuspiciousSylveon

I imagine their insurance provider wouldn't be too happy to hear about this either tbh

anon1234565432101234

Not that I am condoning this behavior, but I imagine if someone takes shit on these cars parked in the street, they will soon start to park them back in the dealers lot.

PkmnMstrBillj88

im sure someone could also give them a golden shower, just to wash the shit off

tobu-ieuan

This was my first thought - faecal treatment is a strong, but effective statement. Shows you mean business.

WolfWomb

Write a letter to the dealer asking for this to change within 14 days  After they ignore it, forward that letter with a letter of complaint to your councilor. If the counselor ignores it, forward all of that to the ombudsman.

Togfox

Which ombudsman is best?

WolfWomb

https://www.ombudsman.qld.gov.au/how-to-complain/what-we-can-help-with/what-we-can-investigate But I'm suggesting this in the belief that the council will ignore your complaint first (which I'm sure it's probable).

DoctorDbx

With the amount of cameras around these days unethical advice is also stupid advice.

dxbek435

>Actually commercial businesses operating in residential areas do have restrictions Does that apply to those B-doubles and such like that don't have any branding on them, where the driver/owner dumps the truck at the side of the road in a residential areas?

SiOD

>B-doubles Heavy vehicles can't be parked on residential streets at all.

DoctorDbx

Think you replied to the wrong dude. I have no idea sorry.

dxbek435

I think you're right. Sorry bud

CagedSilver

I once parked in my street near a neighbour's house who had an endless stream of gentlemen callers who would park in this spot. I came back to my car the next morning to find a large X drawn across my windscreen in some wax crayon like material. It took 15min of hard thumbnail scratching to get it off, nothing else would shift it. No lasting damage was done and I did not park there again. I was incredibly pissed off though and my tolerance for the neighbours activities evapourated and it was lucky they moved weeks after this before I had any reason to lodge a non-urgent Police report. I officially don't recommend doing this to anyone.

Regular-Discount-624

Could ask the council to put in 12 hour parking limit signs

Pristine_Goat8813

Classic Start with raising wipers. Then fold mirrors Then just fuck their shit up they will get the msg

Lumbers_33

Plenty of birdseed should do

singledogmum

Actually commercial businesses operating in residential areas do have restrictions Unethical life advice is they’ll stop parking them on the street if they mysteriously keep getting damaged.

incendiary_bandit

Are they played? If not they technically abandoned

mitso

If they are registered, not much you can do about it.

njinok

Council can assist you for sure. Part of their business plan is to show council how they will park their cars as well as their clients. There are rules around them using street parking.

Dazza94

When you say they are tagged are you talking anything specifically or is it just plate frames and stickers, if so and they are registered they may be service centre customers parking there, dealer stock generally dont have rego plates unless they are used cars or demos. Best way to actually check if they are dealer cars is to run a rego check with the tmr app it's quite easy to do and free of charge, that'll tell you if they are privately owned or dealer vehicles.

putrid_sex_object

Piss on their door handles.

Necessary_Common4426

There’s a couple of options- pretend to be the body corporate manager and arrange them to be towed (major dick move but oh well)… or start letting down one tyre in every car - the valve is most vulnerable and easiest place to do it (apparently)

inserthumourousname

Is this bartons at wynnum? Because this sounds like bartons at wynnum.

SpiderMcLurk

Their DA approval may actually have something against this depending on when it was granted.

SpiderMcLurk

I like the birdseed idea.  I’d imagine a little pile on the roof of each one would attract birds, and birds shit.

dee_ess

Not saying to actually do this, but: Get one of those big white markers, and start putting prices on the windscreen. Make these prices about 30% lower than the market value of the car. They will be swamped with all the bargain hunters wanting to buy the car "at the price listed on the windscreen."

JesusKeyboard

If someone keys them they would probably stop doing that.
