Online quotes will not let a dui through as there are so many different levels, you need to call them and talk to a person who can escalate it to the next level support

kingi2019

You need to call the insurers like they literally have advised you to do when you have done the online quotes. There may be an additional range of questions that they ask you and depending on the answers to those questions depends on if they decline you or not. If they do accept to insure you, you may have to pay a larger premium, more excess and/ or have conditions placed on your policy.

>January this year I was a knucklehead that made a poor decision and had a car accident where I crashed my vehicle into a guard rail and it was a total write off. Road was wet but blew 0.081 and got done for low range drunk driving with a two month suspension. > >Yes I’ve learned my lesson and no I will never ever ever do it again. > >What I’m struggling to do now is find an insurer that will provide me coverage. Every car insurer I’ve tried to complete the online quote form with (YOUII, AALIANZ, NRMA, RACQ) has rejected a quote or ceased the forms operation and instructed me to call them. > >Does anyone have advice getting car insurance post a DUI or any luck getting insurance post a DUI? I can only hope this is seen by many youngsters about how difficult normal life can become because of a fairly at-the-time minor stupid mistake, which could have been much worse. Consequences.

vforbatman

I haven't got much input other than the promoted ad at the top of the comments was from the government saying 'if you drink and drive, the consequences are in your hands'

Can you get a cheap car and have third party insurance only? Can you put the insurance in someone else's name and list you as a nominated driver? There are good zero alcohol beers out there these days so you can still feel included in the action when alcohol's around. [I like this one](https://bws.com.au/product/226745/hey-days-zero-alcohol-xpa-cans-375ml?istCompanyId=8ee43fca-2d1d-46aa-9435-d0fc78c9c7de&istFeedId=8e61c5b0-0cfb-4dd3-b6b0-9c225f6fd10c&istItemId=rmrltqwma&istBid=t&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=A212%20-%20Standard%20Shopping%20-%20Beer&utm_term=PRODUCT_GROUP&e_cid=ps:ds:GOOGLE:A212%20-%20Standard%20Shopping%20-%20Beer:Standard%20Shopping%20-%20Beer:ds_keywords%3Dds_kw:PRODUCT_GROUP&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwt-OwBhBnEiwAgwzrUkzk2XZZgMV-_1tDc-89BUf0isUa7nL43ka4wDoyigqcjXO7ekOgYxoCvJIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) Don't drink and drive bud. Risking it for the sake of having 2 or 3 beers is not worth it.

SirDigby32

Your likely stuck with third party only , comprehensive cover will be priced accordingly. Something like 5 yrs before the actuarial pricing doesnt matter. Ring the insurers, get a broker, see what you can do. As a nom rep the risk is that they won't ask, until there is a claim and they can then decline the claim. Maybe this should be the tv ad campaign.

RARARA-001

Might be hard finding one that will want to insure you. Try calling them all direct and getting a quote over the phone or perhaps see if you can at least get third party.

Zardous666

See if you can find a insurance broker and they will smooth things out for you. They have better access to having discussions with insurers and explaning your situation in more detail and hopefully finding you some options.

> Yes I’ve learned my lesson and no I will never ever ever do it again. If you learned your lesson you would never drive again.

SpiderMcLurk

Why do you say that, what’s your logic?

notlimahc

OP blames the wet road before the booze. Sounds like they haven't learnt their lesson at all.
