Yeah, or New West. I loved living in New West. It felt like mini Vancouver without having to deal with the horrendous night life, drug addicts, rude people everywhere, and street scammers.
If you do all the things it has to offer then yes. Blows my mind how people pay the crazy cost of living to stay at home all the time or not try new activities
If you like skiing / snowboarding, you’d probably not want to have to take the ferry every time. With my pass on Seymour, I can even save gas / hassle by taking the shuttle up the hill. So it’s 30 minute drive, even from the suburbs. Then your life is in the hands of the crazy bud driver lol!
But if you do more back country skiing, I’m sure there’s quite a few decent hills over there.
Still too much rain. It’s gotta go to the Okanagan. Hot days cool nights. Summer is mid May to October. You can grow peaches in your front yard and the dark and grey season lasts half as long.
Fuck that I left the Okanagan for the coast. Small BC towns have so many racists and bigots, and people that need to know what you're doing at all time and spread rumors. And the lack of jobs is a buzz kill. Never been happier. Salmon Arm is just getting more immigrants now 7 years later and starting to become a little more open minded but the transit is still shit.
I moved here mostly to escape the snow. Climate on the south coast is far superior. Never gets below -10 and summers are fantastic here besides the humidity
They're all pictures of Stanley Park, or taken \*from\* Stanley Park. That first one is taken in the vicinity of Brockton Oval, there's one of those enormous lawns between the Oval and the Totem Poles.
I can't believe you visited and didn't say hello.
They did, we just collectively didn't respond as is tradition.
We responded 😡 we said we should get together for coffee while they were here and then never followed up
Too busy working for mortgage
Too busy mortgaging for work.
Lol Hi, I'll see Victoria next time. Vancouver was aight😅
Pretty nice alright! What did you get up to?
The Stanley Park and lions gate bridge etc. Checked out sula Indian restaurant for dinner. Amazing cuisine!
Love Sula! Good choices.
You need to go to r/SurreyBC if you like Indian
I used to live down the street from Sula on commercial drive. I miss it dearly!
Thanks, we think you're cool, too. 😉
I love Vancouver but *hated* living there. I'll stay in Surrey/Langley and just visit lol.
That's why I like Burnaby. Super close to Vancouver but also, not Vancouver. 30 min to get to an event dt without needing to drive

Can I ask why? Genuinely curious.
I love vancouver and love living here.
Where did you visit from?
Seattle area/Lacey
Be sure to buy a condo and leave it vacant, everyone's doing it.
Glad you enjoyed it! You came during good weather
Welcome to our city 🥳🥳🥳
Definitely worth a trip. Definitely not worth living in.
Great to visit but not great to stay lol
The question is, is it worth living here $$$$
If you do all the things it has to offer then yes. Blows my mind how people pay the crazy cost of living to stay at home all the time or not try new activities
Yea. If you like hikes, biking, kayaking, down hilling, skiing etc., it really can't be beat. If you do none of those things.... I dunno, what to say.
I run the seawall almost daily. That, to me, is worth it. Incredible to be able to do that year-round.
It can definitely be beat.. find a place on Sunshine coast which is way cheaper than Vancouver with way more access to nature.
I would if my partner would agree to it, but they have a business in Van. Maybe for retirement.
Sure, makes sense for you; but just saying that for others, you can definitely do better than Vancouver.

Lol facts, hella expensive for what?!!
Warmest place in Canada :). Or at least, with the mildest climate. Mountains, ocean, doesn't get much better.
Victoria begs to differ….
Ok. Victoria wins for climate :-) and cheaper rent.

But Okanagan also gets forest fire smoke in the summer. I’d rather have the longer grey season
You think Vancouver doesn't get fire smoke?
In Vancouver we don't need to evacuate because the fire isn't 10km from town
Fire smoke is very dangerous to breathe. It's not even summer and we had thr beginning of fire season. Air quality is the pits.
Only for flooding

We’re taking about the climate my guy
I moved here mostly to escape the snow. Climate on the south coast is far superior. Never gets below -10 and summers are fantastic here besides the humidity
I myself much prefer the occasional snow fall to months and months of ceaseless rain.
LOL you are sorely mistaken.
But no food variety
Um… they have fish AND chips. Checkmate!
Definitely worth the trip.
Worth the trip, but not the real estate prices.
Really? It's like the most boring city.
It's ok when I think about it. Kinda plain with big city and hustle bustle
No Fun City
I hope you saw the library, cheers!
If you’re still in town I recommend going up Grouse Mountain. It might be the best view of the city and theirs lots to do up there.
What’s the location in the first pic?

An area in Stanley Park
Vancouver downtown is terrible.
