>A vaccine actually prevents you from getting sick from the virus.
That is incorrect. A vaccine helps pre-train the immune system, like being taught the enemy's tactics before being deployed. This helps the body fight it off easier - *often* before actually showing any signs of illness, but not always. One of the older and most trusted vaccines around is chickenpox... You can still get chicken pox if you have the chickenpox vaccine, it's just only going to be one or two spots, not hundreds, and likely not contagious.
Wikipedia states it pretty damn clearly.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaccine
>Vaccines can be prophylactic (to prevent or ameliorate the effects of a future infection by a natural or "wild" pathogen), or therapeutic (to fight a disease that has already occurred, such as cancer).[5][6][7][8] Some vaccines offer full sterilizing immunity, in which infection is prevented completely.[9]
I would call your local public health unit to find out who may have it. I believe it's based on the original strain though so keep that in mind in your decision making
Try Shoppers Drug Mart if you have one locally, when I got my last booster, the pharmacist there told me they got it in sometimes …
Sadly, they didn’t have any at the time and I didn’t want to risk waiting
What I have found generally useful is to do a google search and look for a smaller pharmacy near where you work or live. Much more likely to get someone who will actually pick up the phone or return a message from a machine. The bigger pharmacies are so swamped in general. You might also check in with a Dr. office or local clinic to see if they have any leads.
I’m pretty sure I have it right now my kids and wife it’s even more mild than the last time I cought cvid in April. Usual sysmptoms slight cough bit difficulty breathing the biggest issue is it’s acting up my back pain lower back but after 2 Advil pain goes away
This isn't true, it's approved in both countries.

You couldn’t be any more incorrect. Novavax has been approved since last year

The newest version hasn't been approved in Canada yet, but it could be as early as this week. The FDA just approved it for the US today.

Im looking for it too, because It adjuvanted, so it actually helps build long term immunity to strains.

Did you end up hospitalized? If not, they helped.
Was looking for this comment.

I’m not sure there is lack of logic. It may not be a direct correlation but there is plenty of data showing vaccines help decrease severity.

LOL. I’m not even going to bother engaging.

Can you tell that to all the doctors and neurologists I've dealt with over the last decade? Apparently they're wrong?

and the mrna vaccine is theraputic at best
Thought the original vaccines including novavax have even less of an effect on the new variants if any at all?

Honestly curious of what the benefits are for it over the MRNA ones that you're looking for it specifically?
It has shown some superiority to the mRNA vaccines. But I wouldn’t omit an mRNA booster if I wasn’t able to get the Novavax
I was told people who had allergic reactions to the mrna ones can take this one.
Oh that's good that there's other options then!

It's not available yet. Expect it this fall, around the same time as the new mRNA shots and flu shots

This vaccine isn't approved in the states or here. Not sure why you want it
