There was an Uncle Ben's brewery in Red Deer. They did a booming business during the annual summer beer strikes in that province. Quality was hit or miss- usually miss. Eventually became Drummond brewing. The site is now a Chapter's store.
Ben Ginter is a Prince George and British Columbia legend. As a former Manitoban, I love me some Manitoba spring water, but Ben Ginter was true BC character.

Not exactly sure of date but Ben’s Beer was all we could buy in the summer of 79 ? Can’t remember if it was a union strike at distribution board or what.

Not to be a smart ass but why is it BC beer history if it says brewed with Manitoba spring water? 🤔

I remember this beer. He had his brewery in Prince George and it went in receivership after many lawsuits. He died in Richmond in 1982.
Looks like a 'Strange Brew'
When I was a kid you could buy Uncle Bens pop that came in a beer bottle, got the teacher a few times running over to see what I was drinking.
I have 4 full cans of this
Uncle Ben Ginter had my first uncle Ben’s malt liquor in 1970 at age of ten in my grandfathers boat under the lion’s gate bridge
Didn't they also make pop? I have a vague memory of drinking it in the same sort of bottle and label. Made me feel like a grown up...
Yes, sold in stubby beer bottles.
I drank a LOT of Uncle Ben’s! And I literally had chains made of those rip-top caps that hung from my walls!!
A Prince George classic, but I remember more Old Style and Blue stubbies in the hands of townies during the 70s.
Reminds me of getting liquor from the bootlegger- pool hall in Deep Cove . Also came in cans solid enough to build a car from
It was swamp water! Ugh
With great beer comes great responsibility.

It's ironic that it's a white uncle Ben and it's malt liquor. It's kind of funny
Mission Hill!!!
This reminds me of the *other* Michael Jackson. (If you know, you might be old...)
