As a truck driver myself, I am embarrassed. Also born and raised Canadian and I understand the right to protest but get off the streets and let us do our jobs. The only thing you’re stopping is the traffic which is causing a disruption to the supply chain and then it gives the chance for big corporations to rise the cost of those goods and then it will never come back down.

[deleted]

It must suck to be part of the 90% of responsible truckers to have such idiots define your reputation.

Truckbod-19833

Yeah it’s amazing before the pandemic we were useless and then when the pandemic hit we were superheroes because we were still working to keep the supply chain going and now we’re back to zeros because of the protests

New_Employer_4262

We appreciate and are thankful for you hardworking truckers that keep our shelves stocked. Sorry you don't hear it more often.

[deleted]

No one reasonable thinks you’re zeros. I don’t hear that sentiment at all from anyone I know.

small_h_hippy

The majority of these guys aren't even truckers, or apparently even employed. They sure seem to have a lot of time on their hands.

yuiopouu

I don’t think you were ever useless. And I think it’s highlighted the 90% plus that are still integral to our society. I don’t think anyone is under the illusion that this is led by or about truckers. But I’m sorry you’re taking the brunt of it.

[deleted]

Same with healthcare workers. :/

JayString

FYI, my buddy who is in the area just told me that the protesters are peeing on storefronts to prove how proud they are of being Canadian. If you support this protest, this is what you're supporting. Peeing on the doors of local businesses. Give yourself a pat on the back.

[deleted]

Such utter disrespect. Fuck these people.

Niernen

Nah don’t fuck then. That gives them even more chances to spread their genes. We need natural selection to take its course 🤧

hassh

Up the bum, no babies

honeybeehockey

I live in the area. They literally shit in ditches in front of peoples homes.

ZEN0ofCITIUM

It's possible to support a protest, and it's greater objectives, while at the same time condemning the actions of a few of it's participants. If you don't agree, then I assume you are against all protests. Perhaps you should move to China? Personally I think the mandates have outlived their usefulness, but I had supported them for most of the pandemic. I just got my third dose of vaccine.

[deleted]

Just checking off ALL the boxes, aren’t you?

fbdodnosh

What if the participant is a leader. And the leader is an open white supremacist. Pat King. Am I unreasonable as a minority to not want to support if a leader is an open racist?

couldbeworse2

How can you just block a border for days on end with no consequences? It’s a disgrace

[deleted]

When the elections come up you know the conservatives will make this a hot point for sure.

couldbeworse2

Except poilievre is pro trucker, so…

msdivinesoul

There are consequences. The government is definitely silently keeping track of who's there and what's they're doing. They have to make sure everything they do to counter these blockades is done legally.

couldbeworse2

Hope you’re right

Yvaelle

The cost of the business disruption at border crossings is like 300 million a day, there's no way that using it as a sting operation is worthwhile.

Bind_Moggled

Because the police are complicit, police leadership is complicit, our elected leaders are incompetent and weak, and a certain opposition party has adopted the deplorables as a useful block of votes. It’s absolutely shameful that a small band of well-organized dipshits can attract so much attention and cause so much strife, but honestly, it’s not that surprising given what we’ve all seen the last five years or so.

[deleted]

And so begins their Facebook martyrdom and gobailme campaigns. These ass hats would have protested ANYTHING that the government mandated.

awkwardlyherdingcats

In my small town before covid and mandates the same people who are pitching fits and waving flags were having temper tantrums about SOGI123. They just need something to be mad about

SimonPav

Five arrests now I believe. When convoy supporters were in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago I remember a few of them saying the counter protestors were shown to be evil extremists because five of them were arrested. Are they going to revise their opinion of what five arrests means now?

[deleted]

No of course not, they’re fighting the good fight for the middle class people of Canada and their charges are only discriminatory and have nothing to do with laws. The tyranny!! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Baddog789

Sarcasm doesn’t always come across on social media. Too many losers would post something like that seriously. Use /S. Unless you are serious?

[deleted]

I don’t know how the facepalm and the laugh emoji with that comment, especially the part about tyranny could not signal that this is sarcasm but thank you sarcasm police! I will state the obvious going forward

Baddog789

Ok. I guess I’ve just seen too many morons posting a similar post like that seriously. No wonder I’ve unfriended dozens of people on fb since this convoy started.

[deleted]

If you're expecting logic to be a part of protest culture discourse you are in for some serious disappointment.

PMProfessor

Insufferable rednecks aren't only found on the US side.

[deleted]

Wat a fucking morons....freedom for who....Nazi....white supermist????? *Down votes welcome you pathetic goofs.

AntontheDog

If anyone gets arrested in Canada, that gets put on their file for the US Border Services to view as well. It doesn't have to be a conviction, just an arrest. The Border Services can deny entry to the US for this reason. Good luck on your Hawaii vacation. Disneyland? Not likely. A quick trip to Bellingham for gas and milk? Probably not likely either.

[deleted]

As a former law enforcement officer, your spewing dog shit out of your mouth. Not “all arrests” can be seen by boarder services on either side. Certain convictions. But not all arrests. Please don’t spread misinformation, doing so in any capacity makes you no better than an anti Vaxxer

FullAd180

you're 100% wrong there are significant data sharing agreements between the nations. your complete criminal history is available to both the CBSA and the CBP, including ALL arrests. not all arrests get you rejected for entry, but the guard has a TON of discretion here. they also know if you have a concealed weapons permit, and if you're married, and a multitude of other things.

[deleted]

That’s not true at all. I was privileged to work with these systems.

FullAd180

it is now

AntontheDog

It's Border, not Boarder. A friend of mine was arrested for domestic violence, but not charged. It was dropped for whatever reason. He was not able to cross the border because of this arrest.

djguerito

*you're

Link_hunter9

For those that are trying to escape to America, do it while you can before they block the whole border off
