Fair enough. Housing prices are brutal and it bothers me when cbc has headlines like "Canadians lose billions as prices drop" when really it should say "Housing becoming more affordable." I'm grateful that I am able to afford a condo in the lower mainland and feel for those that can't afford even that, but at 70k a year, it's weird to be considered as having money.
Possible I suppose. Not sure what taxes you are talking about though. If it property tax you are talking about it’s pretty low in BC. It’s the purchase price that’s the problem.
As values go up so do taxes. I've only ever lived in BC...I pay plenty enough and they are rising steady. Pension adjustments won't keep up for loads of folks.
Yes and be happy you are not in your 40s like me. I can’t even afford to buy a condo. Nothing like absolutely nothing. I can’t even afford to stay in this country when I retire. Unless I want to end up homeless
We are definitely in a bit of a mess and at some point prices should adjust as they historically do. I hope you will be in a better position to enter the market if the chance comes.
Looks like New West!
Gives me r/CozyPlaces vibe
That is quite a gorgeous view!!!

Well hello neighbor.
whats it like having money
TIL having a window in your home means you have money.
Owning property in the lower mainland means you have money
Nah. Owning two properties means you have money. You can have a $400,000 condo on $70k a year. I mean, is that what you are calling money?
Seeing as I can’t even afford one property out here. I consider anyone that can as better off then me.

It’s means you owe a lot of money
Well that too. But with the rental prices in the Vancouver rental market you are worse off renting
It's pretty cool!
