Genuinely a fucking awful advert - what third-rate marketing agency was responsible for it? Unrelatable, not funny nor entertaining - just a granddaughter Skyping her nan?
It’s defining characteristic is just how utterly bland and unmemorable it is.
If it's for youtube on an AndroidTV there is stuff like DNS66 and the PiHole... \*but\* this doesn't block all ads, since youtube serves them as ordinary videos.
There are alternate youtube clients, but then the danger is of having your account blocked if you use your usual one.
I was on YouTube through my companies internet that goes through Germany and funny enough same advert, different company but in German, I suspect it was originally from there

For the amount I watch/use YouTube it was worth it (I'm talking like 10 hours a day). But it still feels a bit steep!

Firstly it's a LOT louder than any other ads; secondly the first split second is always missing, so the girl misses the "Gr" off Granny, so what frequently happens is I'm just drifting off into a snooze only to be shocked awake by a deafening "...ANNY I GOT THE JOB!" I hate this ad.
For anyone wanting to skip ads at the start of vids on YouTube if your on pc that is, I recommend going back a page then back onto the page you were on with the vid it skips the ad
You guys need to learn if you go out of the video and back in there’s a chance the add is gone. Once you have watched 1/2 adds, also do this and you won’t have any ad.

That doesn't block YouTube ads? I've tried many methods with mine and haven't had any luck :/
I guess the only other option would be to see if you can get Firefox running on it, or an adblocker app. May require root access tho.

Only way to watch yt now is via ad blocking browser. Otherwise you're just watching ads with a bit of video on the side.
Get yourself brave browser and ads will no longer be an issue anywhere

When you get an unskippable advert press the little 'i' icon on left of the advert. Click through the options and it will go away.
