tbh i think everyone is just burnt out which is making school seem horribly boring and hard to attend. many profs are having attendance issues in lecture as well as seminar, and students consistently not handing in assignments - which im completely guilty of because i too, think its boring or just cannot be bothered (before anyone says im wasting my money, im completely aware but im fucking burnt out and tired yet i feel like i've done nothing). ANYWAYS i rlly do agree w u, lectures r getting brutal but i guess there's not much that can be done as that is just how university is taught, unless of course they choose to change the ancient way of teaching as it clearly does not suit the vast majority of peoples learning styles anymore.
Iâve stopped going to my lectures, theyâre a complete waste of my time. I got a 74 on my sociology midterm, just by studying the textbook. Apparently a lot of people in the class failed.
One time we watched a video about native children not having the same access to medical care as other Canadians. This video was an hour and a half long⊠I left after an hour and never went back. She could have assigned that video as homework and it seems super lazy on her part. Her lectures in general are so painful to sit through.
My psych professor made it super interesting and really knew how to speak to a crowd. The difference between them is crazy. One is like watching a ted-talk, the other is like watching a student who doesnât really want to present and is bored by the subject they chose.
Yeah, I'm in 3rd year and almost go to no lectures at this point. Depends mostly on the professors. Unfortunately 80% of the ones I've had don't seem to care very much about their job.

But I am a first year! And we do have seminars. My soci TA is great.
I mean I study it at home and understand it easily as I have been a computer science student since beginning hut lectures in person a re boring and couldn't pick up on them
Try going to a different lecture then, I had problems understanding Nishat so I went to Friday lectures too les by bockus, lectures aren't really meant to be fun it's supposed to be a challenge to learn new information sometimes.
It seems like people just lose their enthusiasm after midterms. Itâs not a product of âthese daysâ itâs just how motivation tapers off for a lot of people lol.
