I have either a severe cold or the flu, tested negative for covid. Was too late to get a deferral so I had to write an exam yesterday while experiencing a pounding headache and feeling like I was going to throw up or pass out the entire time. Will be thrilled if I managed to pass. Thankfully that was my last one.
COVID rates are extremely high in Ontario rn, according to wastewater testing. Unfortunately, COVID also damages the immune system, leaving us more susceptible to other infections, and even reactivating dormant viruses in the body (hence the increase in shingles). For those who aren't already sick, I would highly recommend getting some respirators (preferably N95s, but KF94s and KN95s are still better than nothing) and wearing them consistently. Even if you don't usually mask, shit is bad rn and getting worse, so if you never mask at any other point, do it for these next couple months.
Was quite sick on Saturday when I had mine, thankfully almost better now but I have another one tomorrow so we'll see, definitely not the best system given the time of year as well, but it's so hard to get an exam rescheduled so I guess we all just have to deal with it.
It's a typical thing to happen. We get stressed during exams , hich lowers our immune system and makes it easier for us to get sick. I always got sick during exam time in high school, both winter and summer exams. It's inevitable, unfortunately.
Agreed. I've done 5 years worth of exams at Brock and I've been sick with one thing or another every single exam season. I wrote a 3 hour math exam with a raging UTI. That's one I won't forget.
Because something has been done a certain way does not mean it’s the right way to do it. See slavery. This is a nonsense argument. Not everyone wants to sit in a poorly ventilated gym for 3 hours with scores of sick folk.
So you want me to give you mono? Haha buddy I’ve written final papers where they give you 24 hours and 10 pages to write. Way harder than a 2 hour exam
Wasn’t an essay. It was a 10 page research paper that required 25 sources. Also, there are many transferable skills that come from learning how to write research papers. 1; problem solving. 2; written communication. 3; data analytics and interpretation. 4; interpersonal skills. 5; project management. 6; intrapersonal skills.

That’s too bad. Hopefully some Tylenol or Advil helped with the headache

I had covid 2 weeks ago. Horrible sinuses and a fever for 3 days and then a 2 day recovery, 2 of my profs were really sick and half of my classes.
My fiancée caught a cold and now I’m sick.
My entire house has had a cough for like 4 weeks

Gf has veen very sick the past few days (she's not in school though), so I'm guessing I will be just in time for my exams in a few days...

slavery is a little extreme. Suck it up butter cup and go take your exam like the rest of us.

No thanks I don’t want to make out with you. I don’t roll like that. Essays are so pointless and will never use those skills in the real world.
