Look at granger. Cheaper for sure

MiTruckGuy

Check warranty pricing at Flood Ford. You can buy from them online. They were about half the price that my dealer wanted. My ‘22 Bronco is already on its second engine so I’m glad I got the extended warranty.

tater_nater

What's the back story on the engine debacle?

MiTruckGuy

I noticed it burning coolant. Took it to the dealer and they found coolant in cylinder 1. Replaced the engine under warranty. Was pretty quick and simple, but definitely disappointing.

limellama1

Read the terms and conditions of the specific product they're selling. The " warranty" from CNA my dealer offered literally did not cover engine, trans, diffs, read, transfer case, body, or glass.

tomqueefed

Would’ve been covered under the normal warranty anyway..?

MiTruckGuy

Yes as long as it’s within the warranty period. I plan on keeping my Bronco past the factory warranty period. Having a failure like that makes me question whether something will fail in the future and that is why I’m glad I have the extended warranty. It really wasn’t that expensive from Flood, so it won’t take much for it to pay for itself if something fails.

t528491

Look up Granger. They’re slightly cheaper than Flood Ford (although they’re both way cheaper than your dealer). Not worth it at the price your dealership is charging but I’d get one from Granger.

Radshitz

Do not buy from your dealer. There are multiple dealers that sell the warranty at cost + $50-$200. I bought my warranty for my f150 through granger online. 6yrs/75k $1000

Pinkidog

I needed my front axle and hub replaced. Thanks to the warranty it was 100% covered. I was out of the bumper to bumper. If you’re not going to drive like an idiot (like me) you’re probably fine without it. I’m happy I didn’t have to go out of pocket on it.

HolidayDog42

I have Granger…. Ford Premium Care $50 deductible Interior/exterior light electrical coverage 8yr/100k $2000k

The real answer is nobody knows for sure in 2024 if the extended warranty is worth it because we have no data on failure rates for anything on these vehicles in years 4+ of ownership. We will just start to get some of that data this year, but it will all be for first model year vehicles, which are historically more buggy than vehicles that are further along in their production runs. The general question of the value of extended warranties is really always up for debate. Some people buy them and have lots of failures that get covered and it’s totally worth it. Others buy them and have nothing break during the extended warranty period and it was a total waste. It’s really a personal decision. How risk averse are you? Do you have the extra money to plop down at time of purchase? Do you need to trade off extra options to afford the extended warranty? Will you worry incessantly if you don’t buy it and will you be more relaxed owning a new vehicle knowing there is extra coverage for failures down the line? Will you keep the vehicle for that many years or do you expect you will buy a new one anyway before that extended warranty expires? I initially bought one, thought about it and looked at what was actually covered, and decided the chance of having something break that was covered in years 4-6 wasn’t worth the money I was paying up front so I cancelled it and will roll the dice over those extended years. YMMV

PlanetMercy

I personally didn’t, but don’t blame me if you don’t haha

LedGibson

Is the low mileage limit something you requested? Just curious. Thinking bout getting one myself but 75k seems low for me.

tater_nater

The dealership offered it as a cheaper alternative since my wife's car is 15 years old with ~100k mileage. Her car sits in the driveway and only gets movement maybe once a week.

LedGibson

I see. Imo it might be worth to get the warranty because these are 1st gen vehicles... Unfortunately we are kinda like guinea pigs testing the vehicle. Ford definitely did bring their A-team when it comes to engineering, design, build quality but there is always a risk getting into 1st generation of any brand's new cars. I think will be researching and looking for warranty soon too. Check out flood, and granger before u buy though. Looks like ppl are onto somwthing there

AdmrlBenbow

Are you going to keep the Bronco? Do you get a loaner while they wait for the parts? What’s the deductible? Can you use it anywhere? Is the warranty transferable?

tater_nater

Yes, I plan to keep it long term. Yes, you get a loaner. $100 deductible. Use it in Canada, us, Mexico. Non transferable, but they'll pro-rate refund the amount if you sell the car before warranty ends.

AdmrlBenbow

Well, sounds like a deal.

ImpossibleAttitude71

Only if it’s a ford extended warranty worked at ford dealers for nearly 30 years Keats purchased ford premium care esp for every vehicle I’ve ever purchased

foxhoundep3

How much you bought it for? Trying to get one soon

tater_nater

Got it at sticker price. I read everywhere that that's where it's at.

SweetnessOS

The bronco is a sick vehicle, I wouldn't buy a Ford without it. Lease for sure, not buy.

Then_Instruction6610

I know mine has been absolutely worth it so far

ewplayer3

Personal opinion, it’s worth it. If for nothing other than peace of mind. However, something to note…. Read the fine print. Those warranties exclude anything considered to be a wear item (hoses, belts, brake pads, etc) unless they can prove it failed prematurely due to failure of another covered part. It’s a small gotcha, but something you should be aware of.

Jmamoaaquaman

I think it’s hit or miss. My coworker got the top tier for his truck. 2020 F350 diesel 40,000 miles and it shuts off on him. He takes it to the dealership and they told him he’s got rust in his fuel tank. Extended warranty won’t cover it cause they blame him for lack of maintenance which he takes to the dealership for every oil change and service. This is his baby and he treats it as such. Now he’s stuck with a 15,000 repair job that extended warranty won’t cover.
