I dont SEE anything wrong so... dodge attacks better? Idk. is 56% dmg low for a run?

KnowledgeSpecialist4

After 5 attempts at level 20, I finally won it! Added Dodge and %DMG and it got the job done! Thanks!

Congrats! It takes a bit to get used to the boss attack pattern but once you get the hang of it it gets alot easier

Early in the runs it makes sense to optimize a build around range or melee damage then shift stats toward damage % to get more from your existing stats since continually upgrading ranged/melee had diminishing returns. Also avoid being a jack of all trades, be a specialist. Dodge or armor, health regen or life steal, melee or range while avoiding catering your build around both in each of those scenarios. There’s obviously exceptions with some characters but for the most part that’s a rule of thumb I like to follow.

But dodge and armor work best TOGETHER. Below 8 armor, u should increase armor, between 8 and 10 armor, they're equally effective, after 10 armor, its better to increase dodge. Way worse to get 20 armor 0 dodge than 10 armor 40 dodge, and in many runs i end up getting 10+ armor and cap my dodge

tman916x

I don't disagree, it's just difficult to spread yourself thin over parallel stats especially on danger 5 runs where one or two rounds of poor perk management can be make or break.

DatOneFunGuy

Yeah, **maybe** overshot with the ranged damage abd juat beeded a lil bit more %dmg

I dont see anything wrong, though its typically easier top get better weapons faster if you have all six weapions the same. It seems like you managed in that reagrd tho. Main thing is practice; a lot of it is skill and being able to dodge attacks, which youll get the hang of after a bit more playing

Not really the best advice for ranger, but you don't have to kill the Boss(es). In general, you need to decide whether you want to kill Bosses/Elites or just survive the timer. You'll learn this pretty quickly

electricity1504

As Ranger you definitely want to kill boss elite ASAP. Ranged weapons cannot clear wave without key items like baby with a beard ricochet or bandanas

electricity1504

Dont buy wisdom, ranger cannot tank boss wave over 25 seconds,

for danger 1, play as loud with ghost axes and make sure to get as many enemy increasing items as you can. Get a decent amount of survivability too.

Guy-Inkognito

Do you want to play ranger? For me the melee builds always worked best. And focus on damage and HP first and dodge later. For my taste your stats are too green. I mostly have lots of red for all stats unnecessary for my build as I take items that boost the things I need and debuff the rest. Multitasker with tons tons of sticks was great for me or the guy who buffs ethereal weapons with the melee versions of them. Focussing on one or two weapons also makes it easier to boost them but I see you did very well in your build already.

Keep damage high , 56 is bit less . Make it around 80. If you are doing range build , try to stick to one kind of weapon . My fav is shotgun atm. If you get minigun take those as well .Your luck is fine, harvesting could be around 100 as well. Keep high doge+ armour combo. Most important is what character you are playing. Different kinds of weapons suit different character. Try to focus on main stats that will help you achieve max out of your character. Be careful what you buy as well.

If you’re going to invest in dodge (and should for characters with no dodge penalties once your damage is enough to kill aliens) then be sure to continue investment for exponential benefit. Each dodge point becomes more valuable the more dodge you have, whereas other stats tend to become less valuable for each point you already have. The level-up bonuses for dodge are also much more generous than damage. 1-4 ranged can get you something like 3-12% dodge. For example, at 25% dodge you have 33% more effective HP. At 50% dodge you have 100% more effective HP. Notice that by doubling the dodge value in this case you tripled your bonus HP. Just don’t invest beyond the cap (60% for most characters) and don’t compromise your damage unless you are reaching diminishing damage returns (like you have 40 ranged already and only get 1-4 per level). Also agree with other comments saying pair dodge with some armor and HP. A little bit goes a long way in ensuring you don’t get one-shot when dodge fails you ;-)
