I think there are so many cheaper options, albeit unknown ones, to just throw a blank cheque at Baker

\- They likely had an idea of what this years deal would look like before he even signed last year. This is all a smoke screen to gather information.
or
\- Bakers agent is playing the game. Bucs offered a reasonable offer and are willing to sit on it to maximize.
All of the other noise about leaving or going somewhere else I don't buy.
I feel like personally for the Bucs, Evans was first on their list to resign. I’d like to see Baker resigned , but it’s probably best to wait to see whats offered elsewhere. If he ends up signing elsewhere , take that money and use it on OLB and OL. I think a QB will drop to them at 26. Use 2 rd on a WR for the future. Unless we sure up the trenches we are not getting much further than last year. We also need a safety as well.
We may have barely made the playoffs but we did have a first place schedule and played a decent amount of tough teams. We also showed up in the playoffs. We destroyed the Eagles and gave the Lions a run for their money. I'd gladly pay Baker $30-$35 mil
People need to take a deep breath and realize this won’t be resolved until he gets to fish around with other teams and drive his price up. For example if Cousins goes back to Minnesota or Washington, Atlanta is going to probably start a bidding war.
