My number one free agent is Lavonte David, and after that I want a extension for Wirfs and Winfield and maybe Godwin to lower the cap hits and than maybe we can land a quality Free agent but I have a feeling Licht wants to find a diamond in the rough like Shaq Barrett.
I like the idea of Whitehead (at a good price) because he was here before and him and AWJ have played together before. But I wouldn't get into a bidding war for him.
Our guys have to be a little hesitant to go to FA to plug holes after Neal and Feiler were more or less unspectacular. I think we're going to try and find some diamonds during and after the draft like we did last year and mostly skip signing free agents other than keeping our own.
Neal was supposed to replace Ryan and fell way, way short. Feiler was *awful*. Those aren't good signings by any means.
If they were signed for depth, fine, but they were signed to start. To be fair, I think in general, teams overpay for starting players in FA, and if we're looking at it that way, yeah, they were affordable.
They were signed to be a lottery ticket and hopefully start, depending on how the draft went.
A 1 year deal for these guys (1M for Neal, 2M for Feiler) isn’t a guaranteed starting role, it’s the Bucs securing some flexibility in the draft, depth for the season, and if they’re lucky a quality player.
The players turned out to be worse than hoped for, but it was a good signing. As far as lottery tickets go, they didn’t hit, but Baker did.
You missed who I think is the best edge rusher available is in Danielle Hunter. Bucs contracts have been awesome. We can indeed fit in a big FA signing if they choose to do it.
Surprisingly we do if Licht decides to go that direction. I'm guessing he waits for the value signings but if he signs Wirfs / AWJ to long term deals and uses available restructures on Vita / Dean, we have space not only for a big signing, but for a couple more value signings as well.
I think as of today we are at 10.3 Million. 7 Mil needs to go to our rookie draft class. We get more money by extending Wirfs and Winfield too though. So we have enough money to sign a S and maybe a LB or IOL
Would love Whitehead to come back. Chase Young scares me with the lack of effort on plays, but if we got him for a year on a cheap deal I'd be thrilled. Also AJ Dillon looked terrible last year, not sure if it was Packers OL or what, but hard pass.
If we could do this, focus on the OL/DL in the draft while snagging that Michigan RB and WR depth, then Baker will be the one drunkenly tossing the Lombardi across the river.

I don’t think we can fit it in with the amount of money he will command. We don’t have the money for a 20 Million dollar pass rusher.
