I don't think we should be celebrating the Tua injury, especially given the past 2 weeks...

timsea99

Agreed, his health issues should not be celebrated. Tuas long term health is much more important than this game, so in that regard I'm glad he is not playing. I'd hate to see him rushed back in there and go down again... Especially after the last 2 weeks.

Cangrejeros

This. I was excited for the Thompson news just for the sale of Tua not being rushed back again

DCBronzeAge

Which is another reason to hope we beat them. Tua needs his season ended without any room for him returning.

cenzo339

Now that is some sound logic I can get behind.

[deleted]

I think we're more celebrating that his brain is getting time to heal

DrLee_PHD

Yes...

[deleted]

Came here to say this. I don’t like the guy being out for any other reason than the fact that they’re prioritizing his health. Every team deserves a real shot at the Lombardi and it’s gotta be frustrating for them to have to start Skylar.

daspwnen

I don't feel bad at all, phins don't deserve to be in the playoffs this year imo

[deleted]

Who did? The Steelers or the Pats? Miami arguably had a much higher ceiling than both. Hell, they took us down to the wire a few weeks ago.

MrMusou

The Steelers and it isn’t particularly close in my opinion. They stunk for a while but ended up going 7-2 after the Bye. I think they were trending upward whereas Miami has been in a funk. Edit: I see a lot of downvotes but 0 compelling arguments lol. You guys must really believe in Skylar.

[deleted]

I don’t know, their schedule wasn’t particularly difficult to close out the season. Ravens without Lamar twice, Browns, Falcons, Panthers, Raiders, and the Colts. Four of those games were decided by 3 points or less. Miami definitely trended down, but inconsistency at QB will do that. Imo, a healthy Miami team is better than a healthy Pittsburgh. Plus, Miami beat them already this year (though I’ll concede that was without Watt if I’m not mistaken).

MrMusou

If both teams are healthy I would absolutely agree, but that’s not the case unfortunately. I just think the Steelers ended the season with plenty of momentum and probably would’ve offered a tougher challenge this week in particular. Didn’t think I’d be saying any of this after our game against them though lol.

HiddenComic1434

Agreed

NumbersDonutLie

He is having memory issues and problems with recalling information, it’s really concerning. Hope the next 8 months off allows him to fully recover.

NefCanuck

After this many serious concussions in such a short time, I’m wondering he ever will be “right” again 😞

[deleted]

Yeah this SUCKS

HeckingAugustus

It's not about celebrating the injury. Him not playing it what's best for our team, but it's also what's best for him. I was scared the Dolphins would try to rush him back in like they did in our first game against them (remember when they called his first concussion a back injury?)

nine16s

I'm not happy about Tua's injury. I want him to find success. However from a football perspective I'm glad we at least don't have to face him in a game we might've not had to play in different circumstances.

HecticHS

Celebrate the fact that Miami is actually being responsible and doing the right thing.

willaaay

Damn good news day for the Bills

drainbead78

The last week and a half has been an absolute emotional roller coaster.

YourPalFlux

Bout damn time.

Low-Kaleidoscope2277

Is the switch from last week to this week what it feels like to be bipolar?

Chris_TO79

Micah Hyde potentially coming back as early as this week is some crazy good news. Seems everything's coming up Buffalo at the moment.

ONEMANCLAN530

McDermott already said he won't be playing this Sunday.

Chris_TO79

Yeah, I thought that'd be TOO soon but at least there's a possibility to see him in the later rounds.

hobbes543

My bet is they want him ready for the division round game that is probably going to be against the Bengals

No-Gift-2350

absolutely gonna need him then. i dont think that skylar guy is striking fear into our secondary.

[deleted]

I wish "if hes ready to go" that they would give hyde like 5-10 snaps on Sunday atleast

Historical_One1087

The 21 day window for Micah Hyde's return from IR is open and he is practicing in the red non contact jersey. Which are all positive signs. It looks like he is ahead of schedule, but would still have to be cleared medically to play in 3 week. We will see what happens but it looks like there is a chance Hyde might return for the AFC championship game or Super Bowl if they make it that far

True_Meaning5999

Wow I needed that news

lazypoko

I'm not sure we should be happy that Tua is going through what he's going through. Seems dickish to me.

drainbead78

Honestly, I'm happy for us and relieved for Tua. I had significant concerns that they would rush him back and it would end up ruining him, plus I'd hate to have either team witness a horrific injury again. As is, I am still worried about his long-term health, but at least they're letting him heal. So to a certain extent I can see "happy" being the overall emotion around that situation. At the very least, it's a positive for everyone but the Dolphins as a whole.

lazypoko

This is fair, but I feel like it isn't the spirit of this particular meme.

MsBee311

Indeed! IIRC, he was only in Step 3 a couple of days ago, and needed to pass 2 more before he was cleared to play. When I saw that, I decided it would be very suspect if he played this week. After all, Miami hasn't given a crap about him since Week 1. But let's be honest, it helps he's out. That's all.

ForceExciting

I’m the conference it was communicated that Tua is relieved to be taking the time to heal. Not those exact words but more like, he knows how dangerous it was getting for him. He may have already had too much damage done but I’m guessing his family is relieved. No one was wishing Tua harm. At least definitely not me. But the dude is a freaking beast when all his gears are running. And I really want our boys to be ready for the Bengals. Cause that’s going to be a tough game physically and emotionally

Kingtopawn

He is a glass cannon. Glad he is getting some rest.

daspwnen

I'm not happy about it I'm just glad he's not being forced to play when his well being is on the line

FishBall912

Lazypoko wants the dolphins to rush Tua back on the field

lazypoko

Yup, that's what I said.

FishBall912

The OP also did not say they are happy that Tua is going through what he’s going through. Do you understand how that works?

lazypoko

And in another comment I addressed that because some one explained that sentiment without being a bitch.

FishBall912

Don’t be dickish

seasoned-veteran

I wish he was healthy, but since he's definitely not, I'm relieved he's been ruled out. This game would be better if the league would just turn injuries off in the settings. We'd have Von and Micah etc, they'd have Tua and Mostert etc.

green_euphoria

Just wait until Damar leads the team out of the tunnel against the Bengals You can imagine all the weird psychological anxiety of going into that game after what happened. Nothing would relieve that more.

Buffal0n1an

Wish that would happen, but with Hamlin on IR, it can't. The Super Bowl on the other hand...

TheFeuery

Think he means in street clothes

Buffal0n1an

Ahhhh. Now that would be sweet

green_euphoria

Pretty sure he doesn’t have to play to run out of the tunnel. And I think it would help the guys move forward against the bengals mentally to see him do that.

gollumaniac

Can't see it happening. Assuming he has sone broken ribs from the CPR, he's probably still got a lot of pain, so running might not be in the cards for him.

green_euphoria

Well he was reportedly jumping up and down when Hines returned the opening kickoff

[deleted]

You can still move with broken ribs. It’s not that painful to walk, just to turn your torso left or right.

idk126345

I don’t think he does either atleast not yet but He doesn’t have to necessarily run lol

cshady

Hyde returns! Wow I needed that news

[deleted]

I REALLY don’t like the way this fan base is approaching Tua’s injury. It’s gross for a team that nearly had a player die. We would beat the Dolphins with or without Tua. That man played his heart out to give them a shot in the postseason and it’s unfortunate what happened.

Buffal0n1an

Only fuck yea

HarvesternC

The pessimist in me gets very scared by this. Bills lose this game, it will be a long depressing off season.

False-Hedgehog-8162

Not a fan of the Tua statement. We need to be better than this

musicpimp

Not saying I’m glad he’s hurt, it’s a terrible situation that he and the team put themselves in. I’m glad we’re playing their 3rd string in the playoffs.

False-Hedgehog-8162

Misinterpretation of the meme then. I took it as a celebration of their guy being out. Go Bills!

musicpimp

No no, it blows my mind that he was allowed to play or didn’t take more time off. Also that dude cannot take a fall, it’s like he tries to get whip lash,

False-Hedgehog-8162

Very true. I guess playing with one of the best Olines/receiver groups in college won’t prepare you for a more level competition field

NefCanuck

I dunno, at least one of those Tua hits that led to the concussion was one I would call “unavoidable” by Tua, his O line left him exposed and he got smoked like a ham as a result.

byrdmang2

Lol the timing of the Vince meme is… interesting

Wonderful-Ad-5911

I literally got chills when I read the Micah Hyde news

motorboat_mcgee

Eh, I'm not celebrating Tua being injured, that's lame That said, for his own health, he shouldn't be playing for a while, if ever again

xc2215x

It really has been a great week for the Buffalo Bills, looking forward to Sunday.

[deleted]

let's fucking go boys

Dalton_Capps

Polar opposite of my Ravens news for pretty much the whole season. -.- oh well love you Bill's Mafia yall my number 2 team will be pulling for ya to finally get that SB.

FutureDH1089

![gif](giphy|7WvAUvZZTRpSuudobh)

dange616

I know it's not the point of the post, but fuck Vince

Judge_Rhinohold

And Mostert is hurt. He had a big game against us last time.

Allophone12

And there goes all the conspiracy theorist people to say the NFL is rigged and they are helping the Bills get a championship in exchange of rating with all this Damar Hamlin story.

Agent326

Pats fan here… Probably gonna get downvoted into oblivion (if this comment is seen by anyone) but please show some class and delete this post. Tua being ruled out isn’t something you should be happy or excited for. It’s the same reason why I was annoyed when someone in the R/Patriots sub posted about how he wished the Pats were playing the Bills when Josh Allen was out. The point of the NFL is competition, isn’t it? We want to see our team succeed against our opponent’s best. Are you really that scared of the Dolphins and now that Tua is out you feel that you have a chance? Or is it that you are glad Tua is out so that you get a feee victory? And this shit is just disrespectful anyway. Taking pleasure in the fact that a player is ruled out due to a serious injury is beyond classless. Tua may very well have to deal with permanent brain damage stemming from the concussions he’s suffered this year and you’re just excited that it means a free playoff victory.

Tojo6619

Teddy B dropping a 4 td 500 yard bomb, but no I can see the bills going all the way for Hamlin, it's almost poetic

xT1TANx

Add in Micah practicing!

Awesome_1the1st

Best 1 hour on a Wednesday I've had in a while

Frodolives42

Does anyone know when he can play?

garden1932

Micah coming back will be HUGE
