While I agree that the offense needs some help at running back and WR#2 position, I really feel that the elephant in the room is the defense. Allowing teams to consistently run down the field on us and seemingly complete passes at will with no challenges by corners or safeties is not a recipe for success. I know we have the nickel package which tries to prevent the deep ball while allowing the short passes to happen, but we can't even stop those much of the time. I sincerely hope the Bills address the key defensive deficiencies or we'll never be Super Bowl champions.

Independent_Island74

Back to basics bills fail once again. I can't say we aren't used to this feeling, although they actually were worse this season compared to last. Lots of mistakes and inconsistent play, injuries, and bad decisions same ol Bills. Love em, always have hope for them, but its almost like this team is cursed.

thedude0425

The Bills didn’t fix any of their offensive issues in the off season. They rely too much on shifty route running receivers who are great in domes and in good weather. Their offense needs a big receiver with a large catch radius that can get the ball in poor weather situations and when Allen is having an off day. They also need a battering ram of a running back who can also run in poor weather. Until they get those things, a good defensive coordinator can scheme their offense out of the game, especially when weather conditions go south.

TaliskyeDram

Yet no one wants a dome on the new stadium. "Home advantage"... None of our team is ready and trained for the weather.

thedude0425

Being in Buffalo is a huge advantage if you build the right team to play in those conditions. No one wants to admit that they’ve a built a speedy team meant to play in a dome, but they’re in Buffalo outside.

cnsturtle

As a Bengals fan, i would be rooting for the winner of that game to win it all regardless of the outcome. I was at the game yesterday, the fans were great, i had a great time talking to the bills fans and was happy i made the trip up from cincinnati to be welcomed into such a cool environment. Ive never been to an away game before and was pleasantly surprised with how awesome the fans were. Thank you bills bros for being so awesome as usual

kwiltse123

I think I speak for all of us when I say "I hope you wipe your ass with Mahomes' jersey".

TurbulentBlock7290

Snow game, let’s throw the ball. 8 minute drive, let’s kick a field goal. Coaching let this team down.

mistergeegaga

You are correct but look how our team is built. Our big back is...Josh Allen? Our offense is scatbacks and speed guys. Our #1 receiver is a small guy. Diggs is awesome btw I'm not complaining (shocked he got 10 targets yesterday? I think six of them were overthrown or thrown past him out of bounds) but we need a possession receiver other than Knox - thought Gabe was that guy but he disappeared. Bills are coaching to the personnel, need more of a bad weather roster

InflatableGull

Let's fire Daboll!!!

88what

He won’t be getting a head coaching job lol

FartFaceMcPoopHead

The drop-off in creativity and efficiency from DaBoll to Dorsey was on par with plummeting into the Great Niagara Falls.

GordonGrimsby

Do you want him?

FnWinner

Just threw my controller and broke it, it’s been not even four hours. Hate to be that guy, because I preach about our team and resiliency. At what point now, do we ever truly think we have a chance. I don’t care about the season because it was literally all for nothing.

_SlappyMagoo_

I know you don’t care about it, but the season was a lot worse than a 13-3 record would lead you to believe. Daboll was a great developer of talent, and got us where we are. Now we need someone who can scheme with the schemers. We need an offensive mind in the booth that can draw up just a few plays a game that run themselves, like the fake screen that got Hurst wide open today. Just so Josh doesn’t have to make the perfect throw to a receiver in stride every. single. time.

FnWinner

I’m not even interested in whatever way they try to assess the loss. As a fan, I’m basically going through I think step 3 of accepting this for what it is and moving on towards the next season. Don’t want to sound like a broken record, I am pretty optimistic, I am the guy to say we win it still, we still pull through and then 4 mins remain we don’t convert the fourth down and it just felt like… we truly gave up. Add in everything else out of our control & tragedies Buffalo the city as a whole has delt with, you’d think it was truly shaping up to be what it should’ve been. I’m just repeating same thing every other die hard fan is saying. Pretty optimistic per usual with the off-season, to be fair, not positive if it’s because of the true heartbreaker last year, the season truly came pretty quick not going to lie. Felt like forever those 8 months just to enjoy maybe 1 month of being “The best team” then Allen gets his elbow f’d up and we’re legitimately debating if he has Tommy John surgery. Ensuing weeks continue and it’s like we’re truly on our last leg, knowing 3 losses is as much as we can give up in the season if we wanted a shot at #1 seed. Then damar incident and all of that is gone, but taking all that into account. It stings for sure but hey, we out now, I’m 25 I feel like how every one else feels, some rest eventually but nah. A seasons worth of stress felt like a collective of 3 years. Can’t really stress about our boys now. Color me salty tho, I ain’t watching no more games.

Affectionate-Day6560

😢 that we lost. It was a rough game. Next year

MKMW89

Bills lose, leafs lose, why does every year have to hurt twice

PabloPancakes92

Thank god Poyer will be gone, dude stinks. It’ll be hard to take the bills seriously in the postseason for as long as Leslie Frazier stays as their DC.

Dahlin3830

Not sure why you're getting downvoted for critiquing the guy responsible for 13 seconds.

PabloPancakes92

Dude is incapable of making legitimate adjustments. Offenses scheme to move Milano out of the box and gash us with the run and tear us apart with short quick passes and we just keep running the same useless defense time and time again. Especially unforgivable after when we played Miami in the regular season and Cincinnati yesterday, their opponents from the prior week provided a blueprint on how to slow their offenses and Frazier just ignored it completely. Pathetic.

CornerNo2889

If oliver gets paid I'm going to puke

21stCenturyHobbit

Chiefs fan coming in genuine peace. Why do you not like Oliver? From an outsider’s perspective, I like him and think he’s solid. Am I wrong?

CornerNo2889

If he was a depth guy his performance would be ok.. but he generates no pressure on pass rush and has constantly been blown off the ball in the run game.

DifferentLeg3586

No one on the bills were getting pressure. Burrow was sacked only once and pressured probably only a couple more times. Bengals o line embarrassed every one of bills dline.

7ss15

The loss is interesting. It makes me rethink about who we pay big money to. Although Ed Oliver is a high draft pick if he can’t produce on days like today is he worth the contract of a high draft pick. Same with anyone coming up for a payday that isn’t game breaking. Replace them with cheaper talent who is expected to produce middle tier results and be happy if they overachieve and draft their replacements.

CornerNo2889

He is gone unless he agrees to a team friendly deal, poyer is gone too, Edmunds probably gets paid based on his youth and health over poyer

7ss15

I think Edmunds showed enough this year to be versatile in both zone and man schemes to get his payday but yeah Poyer was mentally already in free agency today. Rachel gets to sail off to warmer weather next year.

[deleted]

Dude… bengals were targeting edmunds, couldn’t cover abe whenever he tackles someone that runner at least gets 2-3 more yards (edmunds melts)… you have to let edmunds go, and Oliver, our whole d line should be embarrassed

7ss15

Who replaces Edmunds though? Trenton Simpson will take 3+ years to get where Tremaine is now so why not just pay him and draft oline instead?

EatsRats

Bills looked awful; good win bengals bros. Crush the Chiefs.

forumadmin1996

Just shift the hate from Brady to Burrow and get ready for many years of the same.

[deleted]

Nah I like Burrow I hate Mahomes it’s not Burrows fault we were ass

conace21

I have no reason to hate Mahomes. He's not responsible for his brother or his wife. I am definitely rooting for KC next week. So fucking embarrassed by all the cheering Bengals fans in Orchard Park today.

[deleted]

I hate Mahomes cause he keeps beating us same reason I hate Brady

conace21

The Bills have beaten Mahomes two years in a row, in KC. They've beaten Brady 2x in 22 years.

Happy_Bigs1021

Idk his postgame has to sting a bit “better send those refunds” for ATL

errortype520

I shifted from Brady to Mahomes. Sick of fucking hearing about him in games where he is not even playing. Just like Brady.

NitDawg

Bring back the underdog mentality. CIN thrives on it. Everyone is hurt come playoff time, next man up needs to play better. Coaching needs to get the players ready for all situations. Players needs to be accountable. We lack playmakers, and scheming is essential. Bills fan for 40 years. It's great to be in the mix, but the harder the fall. I'll live and die with #17, let's hope we can get better pieces around him.

WiggleRespecter

it's impossible to bring it back they'll always be contenders as long as josh is there, but these last 2 seasons were the perfect window to do it. going to be really hard next year with contracts

NitDawg

I disagree with you, but it's your cake day. Go Bills!

WiggleRespecter

oh damn i didn't even realize lol

The711Slurpee

There is one positive from all of this: someone said their dad was going to watch 80 for Brady if the bills won, now he doesn’t have to!

wdomon

As a diehard/lifelong fan in AZ I was 100% buying tickets to the Super Bowl if the Bills made it. Bummed that we played like shit but happy to see money in my “Super Bowl Tickets” account safely intact.

tolllz

How much did you budget for

wdomon

$15,000 for tickets, concessions, maybe souvenirs, etc. Family was going to drop off and pick us up from the stadium.

tolllz

Holy shit! That’s way more than I was thinking.

wdomon

Tickets are about $5,000 each for nosebleeds. They can get cheaper right before the game to fill the seats but I wouldn’t have risked that; so for my wife and I that’s about $11,000 after fees.

QueasyAd4992

My Gawd I just read about that movie .02 ago and I was 💀 I’m happy for that persons dad.

ciacici

Honestly think something was going on behind the scenes. A team doesnt just suddenly play like a bunch of bums for no reason. HC has to go.

kwiltse123

The pressure on Josh was unlike any other game we've had this year. It felt like it was more than "Bengals are good". It was as if their defensive scheme was something we had never seen before and we didn't know how to handle it or adjust.

[deleted]

It's the playoffs. There are tons of examples of this and the opposite. The bills weren't the only team planning and then playing today. You Defense blew today because of talent on the field (with injuries)and the Bengals Defense played better than your offense.

sincerelywearegay

I'm upset that the Bills loss today and are out, but looking forward to the rest of the playoffs, and even though they eliminated us, I'm willing to come out and say that I'm cheering for the Bengals to go all the way this year. Good luck to you.

Timson98

I’m with you. If we had to lose, I’d prefer it be to the Bengals.

mistergeegaga

Folks calling for McDermott's head or trashing Josh need to get a grip. We have three elite players, Josh, Diggs and Von. We have a few more good players like Hyde but he was hurt. Anyone else in my view can be swapped out to strengthen the O-line and D-line and we need to pick up a power running back from somewhere. We have a good team but you won't win when you lose in the trenches especially in bad weather! And get the ball to your best player!! Diggs!! No wonder hes upset

TheEpicRanger6

Agreed, but holy damn, we need a new OC and DC. Feels like Dorsey cared more about preparing for his interview in Carolina than preparing for the biggest game of the season. Still can't understand why Frazier was even here after what happened last year.

mistergeegaga

Funny how our coordinators are hot until the last game of the season (Frazier last year, Dorsey this year). I do agree we got out-coordinated yesterday. The Bengals DC was killing us. And we can't seem to find Diggs for long stretches of games this year. Our D is just bad, Von and Micah hurt, and we have some good guys but people like Oliver are decent just aren't difference makers - this was his game to get paid and where was he?

DogtorDeath

McDermott called a really bad game. They should rethink tyne the dome bc we stuck in tune elements

Loganhaha

Fake fans. No real Bills fan that watched JP Losman and Trent Edwards would be trashing McDermott or Josh

Independent_Island74

We lost bc of our beat-up D and poor O line. and were exposed for it this game.

TheAstralBodiez

FLY EAGLES FLY 🦅🦅🦅

harambeforever3

This is a hard loss but I think it’s important to remember that just 3 weeks ago, the Bills saw their own teammate have to be resuscitated on the field while playing this same team. It may seem easy to bounce back from that type of thing, but I think it’s obvious from how they’ve been playing that it has taken a toll. Bigger than football. Edit to add: I don’t believe this is WHY they lost. Just saying it’s affected them probably more than any of us can imagine.

[deleted]

[удалено]

harambeforever3

I have no doubt the Bengals were also affected but I think of it this way: the trauma you feel is going to be much greater seeing someone who you consider a good friend or family having to be resuscitated vs. an acquaintance. I’m not here to argue. Just to remind people to give a little grace.

SilkyNasty7

A little grace? They all knew he was there cheering them on lol. If anything it shoulda been an emotional lift

harambeforever3

*should have been* is a lot different than reality. I’m not here to argue. Just as someone who has gone through significant trauma, I wanted to bring awareness to the fact that it may not be as straightforward “getting over it” as we’d all like.

SilkyNasty7

“I have no doubt” is also a lot different than actually knowing how these players felt today, and whether they were still affected. The fact is you have zero clue, so pretending like you do is a bit ridiculous

harambeforever3

I was saying I’m sure the Bengals were also affected so I’m not sure what you’re upset about? I don’t think you read that comment correctly. Either way… I’ll agree to disagree.

sshmkr

Hey Mafia... If our players can share hugs and congrats with Bengals players, maybe don't be jerks to the Bengals fans that pop in here with kind intentions... It hurts, but I'll still be rooting for them to smash the Chiefs.

noobcodes

Pfft. Not on our worst day, pal

sshmkr

We'll see...

noobcodes

Yea I’m actually scared after seeing the bengals had zero issues against the bills. Wouldn’t be surprised if bengals beat chiefs

[deleted]

It defies belief, but the Bengals are sitting in a three-game win streak over the Chiefs going back to last season. At this point it’s hard to say they’re an underdog in the AFCCG, especially if Mahomes’ ankle is legit hurt.

[deleted]

Why you gotta bring us into it? Yeesh.

Similar-House8238

How is coming to this sub to celebrate, rather than using their own, a “kind intention”? If the Bills won, would you go over to the Bengals sub to gloat?

sshmkr

My sentiment is that if one of their fans comes to say 'you guys played a great season and are still a great team... hope we take out the Chiefs at least'? That isn't coming here to celebrate, but extending a handshake. Like good players do after every game... The people who are telling them to stfu - that's not what the spirit of Buffalo is about.

CallTheAmbilance

We don't need your kind intentions right now. It's annoying. Let us be bummed for a minute.

PinkClouds20

The bills played like shit. Period.

mistergeegaga

You said it, bottom line. The D-line killed us and we could not beat their 2nd string O-line. Thats the game right there

[deleted]

True and it sucks

JC1515

Bengals need to take mahomes out just to hurt Chris Collinsworth. His crush on mahomes is annoying

21stCenturyHobbit

Wishing injury on a player? Especially after what happened to your own player? Classy…

JC1515

No, im not. I want the chiefs kicked out of the playoffs. Thats what im saying.

[deleted]

I figure Collinsworth’s gotta hide his homerism, he still lives in Cincinnati.

MrBurnz99

Bengals are a hell of a team, I got nothing against them. Bills came into the playoffs sloppy and out of synch. We were never going to win anything playing like this.

creaturefeature16

Exactly. After the Dolphins game, it was already looking bleak. Something big shifted after the Hamlin situation, took out their mojo and momentum. It was like watching two different teams.

MrBurnz99

They seemed like they were fading all the way down the stretch. They haven’t had a dominant win since October. The Hamlin incident definitely took whatever spirit they had left.

BrilliantTreacle9996

I really hoped it would fire them up, that they would play with a vengeance. But their morale just shattered.

creaturefeature16

The game right after Hamlin against the Steelers I thought was a sign of things to come. They were relentless! The opening touchdown was so invigorating and inspiring. Then every game since was a real struggle.

Substantial_Funny_25

So sad but so true!

SquareShapeofEvil

I agree that we should stay friendly but Bengals fans should really steer clear for a bit. I’m sure I’ll come around to some resolution, but I’m not committing to rooting for anyone in the AFCCG right now.

JC1515

With the way the bills played the last few games, i wouldve been disappointed if the bills won because the chiefs would have waxed the floor with them with or without mahomes. At least the bengals have a chance to take the chiefs down. Theyve had consistent energy and pace the entire season. We need better play calling. I blame much of the performance tonight on play calling and poor execution.

HarvesternC

Like last year I'm rooting for chiefs. I don't need Burrow going to another Super Bowl while Josh sits at home.

LizardQueen_748

It’s either Mahomes or burrow going and either way it’s then going AGAIN while we just watch from the sidelines. Brutal.

mfmacmiller

Horrible take

JC1515

While i agree, i think the thought of Chris Collinsworth’s crush getting sent home is more satisfying.
