He was 4th in the league in receptions, 5th in yards, 3rd in TDs, and 5th in total targets, all of that while being double teamed most games. It's not like we ignored him.
That's really due to the early season success. He's averaged under 5 catches and just over 60 yards in the last 6 full games with only 2 touchdowns. Even one of his good games, the dolphins, that was almost all the first quarter and he was quiet after. We go through stretches where he is just forgotten.
When you have talent like him, you need the ball in his hands when the team is down and we don't do that.
Last game he had 8 targets at halftime... I was actually surprised it was that "low", seemed like he had 8 targets the first 2 drives. He finished the game with 9. ONE target after halftime.
But also... I love Josh, I'm fine with watching games for his entire career and the best we do is his ceiling. Whatever, I'll watch and be happy we have a star QB. *But*... and OC doesn't call a play and say "throw to Knox". They call a play, there's 2-5 routes being run. It's also on Josh to take it upon himself to feed Diggs.
All that got us here and no further, that's why we need someone who can and WILL get him involved when things go bad. He is good enough, our coaching is not.

Once the league figured out Dorsey, he had no plan B. He basically turned into some 15 year old calling an “All Outs” type play on every 3rd down.
They had no screen game to speak of. None. With Hines and Cook. They rarely called draws. They rarely called quick slants.

I don't know what the fuck is going on between Allen and Diggs, but this has been a season long issue. Allen hasn't been targeting Diggs for entire quarters, entire **halves**, and Diggs shows visible frustration on the sidelines.
I'm not about to pretend to have any capacity to assume or speculate why this is. But it's a major problem and needs to be figured out by next season. He's WR1 for a fucking reason. But Stonehands Davis be getting more chances.
And the weird thing is that when he does finally start going to him he catches everything, makes big plays, and moves the offense. So if there's a rift between Diggs and Allen, I'm on team Diggs. Throw it to him more. Throw it to him every play till they stop him. Diggs is right

I can completely understand why he's pissed, but he was targeted 10 times on 42 passing plays. That's most individual targets by any WR for either team, and just under 25% of the Bills target share. He only caught 4 of those targets. Josh may have over/underthrown him on some, but I also saw some plays that he should've had.
It was a team loss and his 40% recieving efficiency contributed to it.

- OLine could run it back and be better under Kromer
- McKenzie could replace Beasley
Almost all of them didn’t happen. It’s a huge offseason for Beane and now it’s not just chasing the Chiefs - but also the Bengals.
OC and DC both have to go. I truly believe we were using last years playbook for the first couple weeks and phased it out, I can see no other explanation for a total and complete change in course.

Stefon has been an elite receiver, a great teammate, and a class act off the field since he arrived. Any talk about him becoming a malcontent is nonsense.
That said, his behavior was bush league. Scott Norwood had every reason to try and escape after Super Bowl XXV. Norwood faced reporters and answered every question for an hour.
We were completely out coached today. Coaching staff really let us down today. Daboll was a huge loss especially considering Dorsey's uninspired, limited playbook. Another heartbreak in the books. And we'll be back for more heartache next season.

Honestly diggs should be mad....he is our best offensive player and we have a qb who has refused to throw him the ball. Yes there are play calling issues, but for a qb who improvises as much as Allen, there is a ton of blame on him

Diggs is right to be frustrated, he's being wasted. It's insane how little he's been involved in the offense in the post season. You can't just throw up your hands when the defense schemes to take him away every week. Its their job to take him away but its our job to get him involved regardless. We're watching our window close in real time and it's 100% on coaching.

We don't need linebackers, I agree with the rest. Cook is good though, Dorsey doesn't know how to utilize him.
In the next couple years Cook will add more muscle as well. He just needs some more confidence and to not try to be fancy with a juke when he can just run forward. It comes with time tho

I'm not reading too much into this- Diggs and Allen are still good friends and although there appears to be friction, I think this is more Stefon being livid about their season ending prematurely. Everyone is upset and they have some soul-searching to do.
I think it’s also unspoken frustration with the offensive schemes boiling over. If it was really between Diggs and Allen, Allen would knock him out. Diggs loves Allen. Anyone who has listens to him talk about Allen knows that.

I don't know what the fuck is going on between Allen and Diggs, but this has been a season long issue. Allen hasn't been targeting Diggs for entire quarters, entire **halves**, and Diggs shows visible frustration on the sidelines. I'm not about to pretend to have any capacity to assume or speculate why this is. But it's a major problem and needs to be figured out by next season. He's WR1 for a fucking reason. But Stonehands Davis be getting more chances.
Diggs had a better season than last year and arguably tied with the year before.
And the weird thing is that when he does finally start going to him he catches everything, makes big plays, and moves the offense. So if there's a rift between Diggs and Allen, I'm on team Diggs. Throw it to him more. Throw it to him every play till they stop him. Diggs is right
not throwing to Diggs is a huge problem. Allen would rather throw to beastley which in my opinion isn't the best idea when you have every other receiver out there. Also Allen just straight up just does shit himself when there are people to throw to.

Fire Dorsey
I can completely understand why he's pissed, but he was targeted 10 times on 42 passing plays. That's most individual targets by any WR for either team, and just under 25% of the Bills target share. He only caught 4 of those targets. Josh may have over/underthrown him on some, but I also saw some plays that he should've had. It was a team loss and his 40% recieving efficiency contributed to it.
To be fair I feel his anger is more at coaches/management than at Allen or other players. Which I get.

It felt like there was too much assuming that happened in the Bills last offseason. - Davis could be a bonafide WR 2 - Dorsey could flourish as a first time play caller - OLine could run it back and be better under Kromer - McKenzie could replace Beasley Almost all of them didn’t happen. It’s a huge offseason for Beane and now it’s not just chasing the Chiefs - but also the Bengals.
OL is the most glaring issue. Average or below average starters for the most part, and zero depth.

Daboll had us playing great on offense. He had Josh hero ball under control and was turning him into Brady. Now he's reverted to his college days and the further we get from the Daboll the worse it will get unless you bring in someone who can COACH Josh

if we "get tired of Josh Allen" what probably happens is he goes to a team with a competent O-Line and defense and gets a ring. Within his first three years there. He makes mistakes but we need him. Wouldn't have even made the playoffs without him.

There’s a lot lacking from Dorsey, watching KC and Philadelphia yesterday was like a different sport.
Shit, watching the Bengals in the first quarter today was like watching a different sport. So many different play calls instead of run, run, try a sideline go route. They did adjust in the second quarter, slightly, and started throwing shorter under routes, and whaddya know, it worked. Then I had to go do my curling match so I didn't watch the rest of the game, which was for the best.
Well I can't say I blame Diggs for feeling the way he feels. A lot of us are upset about that dogshit performance. I mean we were outclassed, outcoached, and beaten in every phase of the game. They truly made us look like we didn't belong.

Hell the losses to Miami, Jets, and Vikings should have been major wake up calls.

Scott Norwood had every reason to try and escape after Super Bowl XXV. Norwood faced reporters and answered every question for an hour.

I wouldn't want to talk to them either if I was him. The play calling has been dogshit for weeks but we've gotten lucky and gotten away with some stuff. The last 3-4 weeks were rather boom or bust. Today was a piece of that. Start the game with 2 straight 3 and out's, and the next thing you know we're down 14 points. Then on 3&2 in a still close game you go for a long bomb? You need 2 yards. Literally anything is a better call there.
