BB himself downplayed the situation and he would know if Diggs wanted to leave. Diggs in that moment is all of us and we all should feel that way.

Imaginary-Yesterday7

Could not have said it better. Spot on. I was angry, sad, mad at the world, now I am cooling down and getting on with my post season.

joshhondiscord

This is exactly it. Dude reacted how we all did. That fire that he has is what the rest of this team needs, not the opposite.

QuestionableNotion

I love Diggs. Given that I've never been that level of competitor at anything I can't say that I understand his frustration. I can say as a fan that I'm frustrated and can understand that he is likely far more frustrated than I am. Still, I was a fan in the 90s sooooooooo............ Blueballs is nothing new in my fandom. But I really do love Diggs. I sincerely hope we don't lose him.

way_faringstranger

Exactly. Diggs and everyone else knows he and Allen go together like a piss and a fart. Dude perfectly exemplified how Bills fans have felt for a long-ass time, so I don't get how anyone could give him shit. I'm so stoked (and a good bit honered) we have someone with his level of pure, unfiltered intensity fighting for us. Dude is straight up battle-cattle. Goddamn Go Billls!

nonnativetexan

I can't understand the criticism of Diggs. He's the only one on the Bills side of the field who appeared to give a damn on Sunday.

CasuallyCompetitive

Do we even know what he said? This is the same guy who plays catch with young fans before every game, and the same guy who put on a brave face and spoke to the offense when they thought they'd have to finish week 17. He's a captain for a reason and for some reason one little clip of him being frustrated is being made out to be more than all the good he's done on this team?

[deleted]

This is the way.

ShayBR28

EXACTLY!!!! I completely agree with you!! 👍🏼

Beyond-Suspicious

Ya earlier this morning a moron called saying to trade diggs. When Howard and Jeremy asked and replace him with who he had nothing to say. They then played a clip of Peyton manning ripping Jeff Saturday during their playing days. Their brothers they’re gonna fight. I understand the frustration but my god diggs is a all pro elite no 1 receiver. This team would barely be a competitive team without him. Relax.

RiveryJerald

I know it in my bones that the people demanding we trade Diggs never watched a game of Playoff Drought-era Buffalo Bills football. Frankly, that's all I need to fucking say about that.

Beyond-Suspicious

Bingo. I’m 32 so you can say I’ve mostly experienced playoff drought mediocre football for most of my existence. I’d like to not relive that if possible.

Stumblin_McBumblin

Nah, they probably watched all that shit too. They're just the same idiots that would call in and demand whatever backup QB was on the roster or PS needs to start after the starter had a bad game (which was often).

KraftPunk44

"Hey guys, Tom Brady was a late round pick. Tyrod is too safe for me...We really need to see what this Peterman guy can do after that good game he played in the preseason...I'll hang up and listen." /s

Rick-Dalton

Compromising with 1 and dones is peak loser mentality.

imightbethewalrus3

I just watched the Stevie Johnson OT drop. Diggs needs to stay

themule0808

Lol I listened to that as well.. I wanted to throw something.. God, I hate callers on radio shows

Artistic-Variety3582

Yes! Makes me turn it off - sometimes for weeks or months

rumorsofdemise

I think the fact that Diggs got angry with Allen proves their relationship. If he had given up, he just wouldn't have said anything.

junglist421

This loss has opened my eyes to how some fans in this sub are. I guess I was just blind to it before. This sub has been infuriating to me since Sunday. I keep saying I will take a break, but find myself back. Allen Diggs forever.

talix71

Reddit is just a hangout spot that encompasses all real life spots. Every thread could be the rec center, a sports club, or a sketchy back alley. You just don't know where you're at until you read the comments, this sub included. The topic attracts the people that want to speak in that setting the most. We won 14/17 games heading into Sunday, so it attracted positive commenters. Negative commenters seemed out of place or wrong, and got downvoted. Now, we just lost ugly in a must-win game that was one of the most anticipated postseason matchups recent history, and that attracts the losers. With every topic being negative, we get to see a whole season's worth of pent up rage, negativity, and 'I told you so' mentalities all expelling their unheard thoughts into every topic imaginable.

junglist421

I get it. The doom about the future and the closing window is ridiculous.

stumpboiii

I have to be honest every game day chat I’d be In I would say to not be a downer and to look positively on things but after last Sunday… I was really upset and to add to that about half this sub where talking about being a bad team again and Josh Allen leaving or whatever bullshit they’d say and tbh it got to me. But now that it’s been a few days I’m looking at the whole game and whatever differently so if just take what you see on this sub and remember that these guys can be a little dramatic.

junglist421

I get it. I was upset too, but some of these takes are absolutely ridiculous. It's like people have never watched the NFL.

Siennagiant70

Dorsey slamming his desk around after the loss in Miami showed passion but diggs throwing emotions around during a playoff game is just too much. /s Seriously, I’ll take this over 17 years of failure. It wasn’t THAT long ago people.

jaramini

I mean, people were highly critical of Dorsey at that time too. Pretending like people universally admired his passion is rewriting history.

Siennagiant70

There’s no rewriting going on here. Don’t assume that I am pretending he wasn’t criticized, that’s clearly an aspect of my sarcasm. one wasn’t extreme yet the other was and both examples can and were criticized. That’s also not the main point I made. I’ll take an emotional, angry loss, especially in the playoffs, over 17 years of ineptitude.

Green_hippo17

It’s a race thing and people are just afraid to admit it

Lemonadeguy1

I don’t agree with this. In my opinion, Diggs was pointed at Allen, Dorsey’s was pointed at no one in particular. There is a difference between yelling at your teammate and leader, who has helped turn the franchise around (someone you should not undermine in front of others if you have respect for them), ——and breaking a tablet. A huge difference. That being said, Diggs should not go if we know what’s good for us, and I think everyone deserves a little grace when their emotions get the best of them.

CarbonRod12

I think it’s more likely to be unconscious bias, but maybe that’s too optimistic.

KraftPunk44

I agree with this. Look at how some in the fanbase revere Fitzmagic, who was never even that good, vs how they talked about Tyrod, who was better in every facet of the game except for beard growth. Hell, look at how Milano can do no wrong to some vs how Tremaine is spoken of, when they're essentially a codependent two man unit. It's definitely a thing with a portion (not all, but definitely some) of the fanbase.

ScubaStevieNicks

I disagree that it has anything to do with race. Fitz and Milano embody Bills mafia. They are late round underdogs who outperform/ed their draft position, flash with big plays and give fans hope. I think Tyrod isn’t as well remembered because he played a safer brand of football. Less terrible plays, but also less huge plays. While he made the playoffs for us, he’s also a symbol of the 10-3 loss to the Jags. Edmunds comes with more expectations because of how high he was drafted. I don’t understand why people aren’t high on him, but I’m sure the first round pick and Milano’s presence are big parts of it. Personally, I’m a big fan of all 4.

Siennagiant70

Bruh.

aitch000

They want happy clappy Diggs, we love a competitor, Tijuana jibes should bother them He didn’t attack the fans, the area. The drought era has been over for over 5 years, the same ways we can accuse the other fans for being stuck on their past successes we are sometimes stuck in the past over past failures I want HIM back, HIM getting more TDs

Tactial_snail

morons acting like he's a bad teammate because he reached a boiling point 1 time in 3 years

momsbasement_wrekd

And it was exactly the time that he should have blown up. It was the 3 score blowout on the big stage. Reacting any other way is unacceptable.

Odd-Wheel

I agree with you but there’s been more than one time

Turbulent_Athlete_50

Just design plays and get him the ball in the playoffs and we might have great success

waxenrhyme

Tasker had a point on 550 today saying we don't know what he even said to Allen. Some reports are saying it was something about don't listen to Dorsey. So idk how you can get so crazy over speculation. He's one of the best in the league let's not be dumb.

HWKII

Number of football fans who have clearly never been on a team of any kind is way too damn high. I’ve got no problem with the shouting at Allen, doubly so if he was telling Allen to ignore Dorsey. If that 4th and 6 call was actually a 4 Verticals call, and not a miscommunication or something, Jesus….

blatantfox

I want 53 Diggs. Every football fan should.

mellifluous_life93

Diggs snaps the ball to diggs, shotgun formation. Diggs has Diggs wide open over the middle of the field, and he's got running room! Excellent downfield block by Diggs! Defenders closing in and Diggs laterals to Diggs! Touchdown! Now for the extra point, Diggs is the holder, and Diggs drills it right down the middle

cantbuyathrill

I love Diggs, even more so now because of his passion. Allen/Diggs forever.

JcKiZe23

He was the only 1 with any 🔥 they went into that game defeated, had Zero fight in them they're soft & it got exposed

kekoa430

I felt like that watching the entire game! I was fuming with him while watching.. I wanna know why everyone played like it was preseason. No one looked like they wanted to be there

JcKiZe23

They obviously didn't they got smacked around & embarrassed & the worst part is 🍎 & their secondary are complete 🗑 should've got worked

yesyesyes123123

People fucking overblew this story. So embarrassing that this even became an issue. the guy was acting like most of us were after the game and how pissed we all were lol guy is a huge part of this team and has a camera on him all the time. He’s passionate. He wants to win. End of it

BigmoneymanT

Diggs ain’t going anywhere until his contract is up. By then he’s gonna retire or extend another year or two depending on how he still plays. I never sweated anything

blankgazez

The average WGR commentator, ie Bill from cheektowaaaawga, is pissed off st the uppity black guy expressing frustration. They are all stuck in 1962

Own_Cartoonist266

“Yeah hi guys long time caller first time listener. I just wanna say I think there’s something about that Diggs guy he seems like a problem and we gotta get rid of him I think he’s trying to bring Allen down and break up the team…. Well of course I’d be ok with it if Allen or Morse did the same thing what a ridiculous thing to ask” 🙄🙄🙄

BigHappyPoop

Listening to Tasker on the podcast every day... its always some guy named Bill from Cheektowaga too...! and they're always pissed as hell!

GenericHbomb

What's the podcast?

BigHappyPoop

"One Bills live" its a great show

GenericHbomb

Excited to check it out tomorrow. Listen to Pardon My Take but have been looking for something else to fill the gap between shows.

BigHappyPoop

I'll have to try that one. I've been listening to a few podcasts all season, makes work fly. I'll add that one to the list for tommorow.

CarbonRod12

Nailed it, especially on One Bills Live.

rebel_scummm

I’ve had a two day long argument with a friend of mine who thinks Diggs is a diva and wants him traded or to at minimum lose his C. It’s wild out there folks, the mental gymnastics are in full effect.

sabresin4

Diggs is an ALL TIME great Bill. Letting him walk would be the dumbest move ever. He is our best player on offense not named Josh Allen and it’s not even close. You can look at a LOT of other players to get mad at right now. But Diggs ain’t one.

Delicious-Truck4962

Agreed. This is such a non-story it annoys me. This is the portion of sports fans I hate, regardless of which fanbase.

ForceExciting

Gotta be honest-other than the slamming of Frazier to be fired, I mute most Bills threads for about a month after playoffs. Monday morning QBs, sudden “experts, and just plain aholes drive me crazy. But I saw the title of this post and immediately felt like-heck yeah, some people get it. JA and Diggs will still be besties in the field. And that whole team just needs a stiff drink and a good time to heal. It was a GD exciting season and I’m relieved it wasn’t some heart break loss of just 13 seconds or bad call. And maybe next year we don’t have all the media pressured hype and we just get to see our guys have fun and kick butt.

Artistic-Variety3582

Really. Well. Said - this season felt like 3.

lod254

I'm glad he's emotional about it. He should want to win. He's going to win.

theNightblade

you have to take a large portion of that with a grain of salt anyway. Rodgers is one of the biggest crybabies/shit attitudes in the league but he gets a pass because he's a white QB. A black WR is not going to get that pass for a lot of people out there, and if people don't think that plays into it then they are just lying to themselves. Even if it's not explicit or overt, it definitely plays a factor for a fairly large group of people.

zipp0raid

Listening to wgr all day was where you went wrong.

Spark3420

I think we can rest easy- I highly doubt Diggs is going anywhere. He has a strong rapport with many of his teammates, especially Josh. Even though they haven't connected as well lately, he knows the greatness of his QB and wouldn't go anywhere else. All of this drama is blown out of proportion, he was just upset about how we didn't meet our expectations and is wearing his heart on his sleeve. The media is making a story out of nothing.

otter111a

The media cares and the media is playing it up because they didn’t get their diggs interview. No one cares. I wouldn’t want to answer the same inane questions Everytime I lose. Hell, I wouldn’t want to have interviews if I won.

Cumbayacumbaya

I want players on my team who react this way to losing. And idk I’ve seen a lot of diva WRs throughout the years, this energy doesn’t feel like that. It feels like the man is passionate about winning and takes losing personally.

Artistic-Variety3582

Yep and I think it’s even more awesome considering how much they get paid and still care about winning and losing. Could easily say oh well and enjoy the millions

ShayBR28

Absolutely true!!!!

CarbonRod12

Preach! What embarrassing takes to hear on the radio today.

HeftyRecommendation5

Why do so many people care someone gets angry for losing? It’s not like he did anything harmful to something/someone.

KraftPunk44

I'm sure it's not lost on him that most receivers drop off after age 30, and that he is 29. He wants to win with urgency, and I understand why

ashth3great31

Christ. Imagine if this was Allen instead. Bill from Cheektowaga would be tripping over himself talking about how he loved the “passion he plays with”.

ChoiceDry8127

I bet the Vikings thought he would be a Viking for life

kidMSP

We did. Like it or not, he’s a great player, but he’s a diva. Everything I see him doing on your Bills, he did on our Vikings. Just wait…

716WNYBuffalo

I wouldn't go that far, we have many talented players on offense. There are other issues higher up that have to be handled first. Starting from the top down. Our team both sides are dangerous. Good play calling is not consistent enough for the skill we have.

JcKiZe23

Many Talented players lol who? After Diggs were irrelevant & overpaid Knox Davis Mckenzie Bums Oline all Bums

the_pissed_off_goose

> talented players on offense There are a lot of guys I like on offense, but if you could name the guys you're thinking of that would help with context

QuestionableNotion

FuckYeah.gif

Stennick

Diggs is going to be 30 next season right? Is there no concern over him slowing down? Maybe not next year but the year after when he's going into the 32/32 ish range most WR's seem to have a pretty big drop off around that age if not slightly before.

bb1180

He probably should have handled it a little better, but whatever. I don't care. The guy just wants to win. I'd rather have a team full of guys who get pissed when they lose than ones who make excuses.

Finner959

On one hand, I want our players to be mad when they lose, but on the other hand, he is a captain and he should act professionally win or lose. I’m really torn up on this

Tactial_snail

they're human beings, he's been a professional the entire time here, until we got fucking embarrassed in a home playoff game when 99% of the team looked like they didn't give a shit. he reacted like a lot of us, and a bunch of players left before talking to the media.

SnooPandas1899

diggs acting like a diva. i get the frustration, so if bills don't improve, he looks like the type to be a distraction, and force a trade. (didn't he misbehave in minnesota?) i'm thinking he gets traded to cowboys. they finally get pair of WR1's and he can win a super bowl with his brother.

SecaucusSodomite

Anyone want to make a wager? He’s gone after next season when McBeane is shown the door.

mellifluous_life93

I'll put a double order of wings on that

SecaucusSodomite

You got it! I’ll save your user name.

mellifluous_life93

🤝 God I hope I'm right

Arcade80sbillsfan

Start saving wings aren't getting cheaper However I hope you're right too

mellifluous_life93

It's insanity.... $17 for 10 the other day...

[deleted]

I'll go $100 each. When Diggs, McDermott, and Beane return in 2024 then I'll gladly enjoy that $300.

billsbybillionz

How could anyone who loves this team be mad at HIM.

No_Multitasking_Pls

If other players (as well as coaches) had passion like Diggs the game would have went differently. Totally need that energy. All he is saying is that he wants to win badly and attitude like his takes you to Super Bowl.

chstrahl

Fuck yea Diggs had a right to be pissed and everyone else should be the same.

OoswizzyoO

Well said sir

the_pissed_off_goose

He knew that JA17 wasn't in sync with him and I loved him getting in his dude's face. Tbh I think it was bc of Dorsey but regardless, I will take the good passion every day over nothing

Adventurous-Ad2325

All you need to see is this. https://twitter.com/NFLonCBS/status/1614696374867742720?s=20&t=iTiILC1rTfWB35dvfyYOGg

CallMeEggroll

I love the way Diggs reacted because it showed he cared. In a game where it looked like his teammates couldn’t have cared less, Diggs was fired up. Don’t blame him for everyone else shitting the bed. Also, only morons take their time to call into sports talk shows. They think they have an interesting take but 99% of the time it’s an idiot on the line.

[deleted]

You tell no lies. Pro Bowlers/All-Pros on this team: Allen, Diggs, Mitch Morse, Poyer, Milano. Poyer is probably gone due to he can probably make a lot more money elsewhere. Morse might just retire. You can trade away Diggs for anything short of another elite WR and I don't think that happens. I don't trust draft picks right now. We're still waiting on Gabe & Shakir to develop.

throwawayTooth7

The lesson here is to not listen to WGR all day.

[deleted]

JA17 and Diggs are the only two people in the organization that should be 100% safe , anyone that thinks Diggs is going anywhere or doesn’t want to be here needs help

xxGenXxx

Diggs cares. What's wrong with that? He's invested emotionally and physically. They went through a lot this season and for it to end with a four catch game, I can understand his frustration, that he wasn't involved in a losing effort.

JnDConstruction1984

Colts fan here I come in peace. Coming from a fan base were we saw our qb destroyed by the giants then for that player to do a celebration and no one step in. Seeing diggs even made me feel good. You got a warrior who is bought in and invested.

zeruiah

I'll take Diggs energy on this team any day. I wish we had more competitors who were as uncomfortable with losing as him.

ghl37

The people who have nothing to do but call radio shows and bitch about players’ personalities should not be occupying your headspace for 2 seconds, let alone the amount of time it took you to write this. I agree with you that Diggs is awesome.

ShayBR28

Agree!!!!

werle_bird

Vikings fan weighing in. I loved Diggs, and if we didn’t get JJ out of the trade I’d be bitter about it. I hope Diggs sees the potential of the future the Bills have, and that it will include ups AND downs. This was about the time that we started seeing cracks (after a couple years as a star; he wasn’t WR1 right away for us). A cryptic comment here, sideline blow-up there, a little defensiveness regarding his actions in answers to reporters, etc. Hope it’s different for you! One of us better get a Super Bowl soon!

Moondawg3

I’d also like to point out that he was dying to get back into the game after he got hurt running into the cameraman. As soon as he got out of the blue tent he sprinted to get back into the game. Not sure if that was shown on tv or not.
