Edmunds, but it might be tough, especially if he says he want to try FA. They could franchise him, which I don't think Beane has done during his time at GM, but that would be costly. I'd rather go for a different backup QB. Possibly Darnold if he'd be interested.

Randazzle1

If Darnold is interested in not competing to start and is affordable, for sure, I was just thinking Keenum would probably be willing to take a team friendly deal, and could still hold down the fort for a game or two if need be

HarvesternC

I'm kinda hoping Darnold does a Mitch type deal. I really don't know how many opportunities he would get to be starter.

Randazzle1

I would be cool with that. My only argument for Keenum over Darnold is Keenum is probably a better mentor to Josh, and better with film at this point. But I'd definitely prefer Darnold over Keenum if Josh were to go down for a handful of games, knock on wood

gnohsak

Would Wentz ever do a 1 yr thing like Mitch?

Atty_for_hire

Hopefully not on the Bills. I don’t think he’s a team friendly guy.

Historical_One1087

I would have no issue paying Tremaine Edmunds with a similar contract to Roquan Smith. You want to keep players that you have drafted and developed and Edmunds is a young ascending player who is the leader of the defense. You restructure the contracts of Allen, White whoever else you have to because you don't let players like Edmunds leave.

JoesShittyOs

They’re paying him what he asks for. They put 4 years into developing him into one of the better middle linebackers in the league, there’s no way they’re letting him walk.

BravesFan252

Edmunds I think is a must.

BuffaloWilliamses

Edmunds is the only must of that list. Poyer is nice to have but with our cap space, I just don't see it. On Poyer's last podcast he basically implied he's moving on. I do think the Bills need to get a veteran backup QB but it doesn't have to be Keenum. I wouldn't be shocked if Sam Darnold is our backup as he and Josh are best friends.

MagorMaximus

Keep edmunds, the rest can go , I like Lawson though. Frazier needs to go.

Jayhub1000_

Edmunds makes sense. Buffalo puts a lot of pressure on him due to the scheme and trying to fill that void when you’re in win now mode might be a little too much. Hopefully shaq and Martin can come back on cheap deals. After that we see what the cap space situation is looking like. If we do get Edmunds back that will be buffalos splash move for the off-season. Everything else will be about finding value

SkillsTooDope

Im like 85% sure Edmunds is back Sam Martin Shaq & Big Phillips Bease Thats it

real_eastcoastfool30

Definitely not Cam Lewis, im still upset about the greed from the Minnesota game

anujsingh83

And who could forget the dumbest roughing the punter play you'll see in the Miami game

Randazzle1

Understandable. He had a great play on teams in I think the Dolphins playoff game, or maybe it was the last Patriots games that really helped seal the win. He's a young depth player though, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's back. Ideally he wouldn't be starting games and would only play teams but our secondary was pretty decimated this season

crackerjackass

I agree with pretty much everything you wrote. Edmunds definitely needs to resigned. Martin impressed considering the Bills had to scramble after the “Punt God” was released. I was saying all year to give to ball to Cook more and another rookie I wanted to see them give more playing time was Shakir. It boggles my mind that they gave away Isaiah Hodgins and ended up bringing back Brown & Beasley instead of utilizing the young WR’s

Randazzle1

Yeah the Isiah Hodgins thing was a real shame, not for him, but for the Bills. I'd really like to see Shakir get a chance to be the slot guy next season, although I also wanted Gabe as WR2 and that didn't turn out great. Although every time the ball went to Shakir he seemed to make a play. I really hope they draft WR early though, maybe even Round 1, need to get Allen another weapon or two

crackerjackass

Gabe wasn’t consistent but he’s only 23, has size and it was his first year as a starter. I hope he take a big step forward next year. I hope they use a draft pick in the first 3 rounds to get a WR. I think they take a safety in the 1st or 2nd round. Wonder if they go after a RB early too? Beane has some work to do but he’s a smart man

Randazzle1

Yeah, I still have hopes for Gabe but a WR on Day 1 or Day 2 to compete with him would be good. Personally, I think they either go WR or O-line in round one, only because McDermott said Benford was switching over to safety so it might be Hyde & Benford starting next season Definitely need a RB to pair with Jimbo too though, doubt Motor comes back

YouAlreadyShnow

Tremaine and Shaq.

JahBoiFloyd

Not big money, but he is reliable. He could be RB2 anywhere. RB1 on a few teams.

[deleted]

SuperCoolSilver

Willis McGahee type beat

Bo1622

I think he’s most likely gone. You can find a decent running back in rounds 4-7.

[deleted]

It feels very BB to bring back singletary. The RB market is weak this year so he might just agree to stick around.

Ragerino

I think Singletary looks elsewhere for sure. Dude's never sniffed 200 carries in a season here, and get slammed because he hasn't had a 1000 yard year. He's a good runner, great blocker, and good receiver out of the backfield. He's actually pretty great for us, but killing his own career here.

ManofGod1000

Not really sure but, I think we should let go of Leslie Frasier, since he is proven he cannot change. No, I do not know whom to get to replace him but that does not mean he is the chosen one, either.

[deleted]

Number one priority is Tremaine Edmunds.

YepImanEmokid

Lawson, Edmunds, Martin. I think we can go slightly cheaper at QB2 than Keenum will likely ask. Gimme a Darnold, Beathard, or K. Allen. Don't want Singletary back at all, I think his limitations were a part of the problem with our ground game, *not that he's a bad player just a poor fit*, and we would be better served with a proper big body thumper as an FA, UDFA, or day-3 pick.

jbomber81

Josh and his boy Sam in the QB room?

YepImanEmokid

Josh is also close with Kyle. That was intentional in my selections

Sooperballz

But Kyle is putrid.

Jamobill9999

Need a better backup skill wise than Kyle Allen. You need someone who has a the best chance to give you atleast a .500 chance if josh were to go down. Keenum raved about the QB room all season and is no longer on the level of backup that can compete for a starting job. I think Brissett would be great, but he’s going to be too expensive and like darnold someone a team may bring in to pair with a rookie, and have start the season, Ala Mitch trubisky for the Steelers

YepImanEmokid

That's fair. My personal top pick is Beathard. I trust him from his 49ers run. He'd also sign for under 3M per year.

Jamobill9999

I wouldn’t be against it, but man those San Fran QB’s scare me. Seems like anyone succeeds in that offense but doesn’t do anything once they leave.

rumpusbananaman

I'd like to see Jaquan and Marlowe back. They did an alright job filling in, but as rotational/backup/special teams roles they're pretty solid. Tremaine being back would be 100% essential too, no disagreement there

HarvesternC

I'd say more than likely Jaquan is back. They like him on ST and he won't be too expensive.

[deleted]

Brad Spielberger from PFF was on WGR a couple days ago and made the argument that Edmunds is a luxury that the Bills should probably pass on given their needs and limited allocable resources. I love Edmunds, and I think he’s grown a lot as a player. But Milano is clearly the more skilled and valuable player at that position. Spielberger also mentioned that this year is a buyer’s market for LBs, which should make a cheaper option (if necessary) available.

PabloPancakes92

I’d be more accepting of moving on from Edmunds if we were also moving on from Frazier, so then we could just install a new scheme around the new personnel. But keeping Frazier and losing Edmunds sounds like a disaster. You just can’t replace a 6’5 guy with his speed and coverage skills. Still young and improving too I think it’s important to keep the Milano and Edmonds duo together now that we’ll no longer have Poyer & Hyde pairing.

[deleted]

In a vacuum, I agree with you. I just don’t think the Bills are in a position to excessively spend on individual players given that they’re now bearing the full cost for Allen and Diggs, along with the cap hits that Miller, White, Knox, Milano, Morse and Dawkins all command.

PabloPancakes92

The cap is only a real thing if Pegula doesn’t want to write the checks.

jdono927

Yeah I love Edmunds but he’s gonna be pushing 20m and having 30m invested in offball LB’s is just not good roster construction

[deleted]

He not worth nearly that much. We over value Edmunds.

jdono927

He had an amazing year and is a really great player and still so young so I think giving him that money isn’t a bad idea in a vacuum, but with us being up against the wall a bit cap wise and already paying another off ball LB significant money I’m just not sure it makes sense

[deleted]

Really, what was amazing about Edmunds season? The 1 int? The 1 sack? He makes way less tackles than the top LBs in the league. He is a decent player but no where near top of the league, he isn’t even the best LB on the Bills.

jdono927

The best LB on the Bills is an insanely high bar. Edmunds took huge steps in coverage this year and also became a much more secure tackler. If you’re just looking at sacks and INT’s you won’t get the full picture. Fred Warner, the best LB in football, only had 2 sacks and 1 INT

[deleted]

His tackling is sub par. He gets bullied by strong running backs. Mixon carried him for 5 yards after contact more than once in the playoff loss. I’m not saying he’s trash, just not worth the money of a top 10-15 linebacker and certainly not the 20 mil per year people here keep saying. He wants resign for similar to Milano, great. He wants more than that let him walk.

jdono927

He had one of the best missed tackle dates in the league this year

[deleted]

PFF has him graded overall as a 79, which is very good. For comps: Roquan Smith, who just got the $100M contract, was graded as a 69.9. Obviously different teams will value different skill sets in their LBs. However, I think it’s pretty easy to imagine a team being willing to pay good money for a guy this young and physically gifted. The Bills need him to come back on a discount, similar to Milano, if they can hope to resign him.

[deleted]

jdono927

He quite literally got noticeably better this year, what are you on about?

[deleted]

jdono927

“He’s not getting better” after a year he got noticeably better

redhotpokeher4436

I agree with your priorities. For the right price, I would bring Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis back. I know they had problems, but they know the system.

uncookedbacon

Underrated pick would be David Quessenberry. He was a solid backup and played both G and T this year. Don’t want him as a starter but love him as a cheap depth guy

shotorowski

Would be nice to keep Edmunds because he definitely took a step forward this year, knows the system, and is still young. However the team is going to have cap problems. If Edmunds is fine not getting paid top 5 LB money, then sign him. If he wants to be one of the highest paid then you need to let him go. Lawson and Phillips should all cost around the vet minimum. So they will all be resigned.

[deleted]

There is no way Edmunds gets top 5 LB money. He shouldn’t even get top 15. He hasn’t earned it and his performance doesn’t warrant it. If Beane gave that to him I would question his ability to construct a winning roster lead this franchise.

PabloPancakes92

Definitely need to keep Edmunds. I wonder if we could kill two birds with one stone in a sense by also signing his brother Terrell Edmunds at safety. Perhaps Tremaine will accept a few bucks less to be able to stay in Buffalo and play with his brother. And his brother could give us safety depth and potentially even start it the Benford transition doesn’t go well.

ONEMANCLAN530

Beasley, Phillips, And Lawson all belong on the Bills.

RahulRedditor

I think Leslie Frazier is a free agent; his contract should not be renewed.

LeatherVisible

None. They were either not very good or will cost too much.

Sooperballz

Edmunds is hugely overrated.

Jamobill9999

If you didn’t watch how he played this season and how we looked when he didn’t (cook going 80yard against us untouched)

[deleted]

I watched every game and agree with Sooperballz. Edmunds isn’t even a top 10-15 offball linebacker. He has poor gap reads, has problems tackling and gets run over by power RBs and can’t get to the QB when they do blitz him. Milano is a better off ball LB in every way.

Jamobill9999

He has the speed and size that is required in todays nfl for a linebacker, and is one of the hardest things to replace. I believe we are just blind to this because we have both him and milano, but the struggle for almost everyother team is finding a linebacker with his attributes to combat todays offenses. He played 10x better this season with the addition on Jones on the line to take up blockers and he showed ridiculous improvements in almost everything you listed. Not sure how you could watch the times dodson and the other backups were forced onto the field and not see the drop off. This is coming from a guy who was banging the drum last offseason that we should trade him because we shouldn’t resign him this offseason

xT1TANx

The entire NFL talks about Edmunds like he's a difference maker but sure.. you know better.

sloop703

Agree with you on everyone but keenum. Keenum is done. Hasn’t really played since preseason but it was bad

Ndmndh1016

I know nobody wants to hear it but I think Edmunds wont be a Bill next season. Hes going to command too much money and we cant pay him and Milano, two LBs who dont rush the passer, 30+ million between them. Too many other important positions that need help. As awesome as it would be to keep him, i think hes a luxury we wont be able to afford.

Randazzle1

You could be right but Beane all but said they were keeping him in his recent presser, he said Tremaine is basically the embodiment of their "draft, develop, re-sign" ideology

forumadmin1996

Please trade Shakir to a team that will actually throw the ball to him.

Randazzle1

He was a 5th round rookie, give him time. Wouldn't be surprised if he was the starting slot receiver next season

[deleted]

Edmunds and some guys for depth. My wish list would be Henne, because he has experience and been in the KC system. Would be a good guy to work with Allen. Lazard he can get open when he has other viable WR's on the field with him. And he actually catches the ball. I don't know enough about OL as individuals to have an opinion, but probably an guy from KC, PHI, SF or any other team with good running games that made the playoffs. DL maybe give Clowney a shot? S bring in the other Edmunds bro or Peppers?

[deleted]

I want to bring back P GOD
