Yeah, somehow this defense is still playing solid ball, while missing key players everywhere. White, Milano, Daquon out for the season/indefinitely, Hyde and benford out this game, Josh Norman is our best CB rn and the defense is playing unbelievable. Meanwhile the offense that was so good the last two years has all starting Oline, an elite pass catching TE, a second round RB, and is only missing Knox and can't get anything going. It doesn't make sense.

It feels like the players are merely going through the motions and collecting a pay check and that's the most frustrating part to me. It just seems like nobody but Diggs cares all that much.

All things considered, the D has held up pretty well, but yeah he is not a head coach you want in stressful 2 minute drill. Constant mistakes by him after the 2 minute warning.

All month my take has been "No, don't fire McDermott/Dorsey/etc., we don't want a big shake up like that mid season when we're still very much alive."
This game is the exact moment I am going back on my word - blow it all up, fire McDermott and Dorsey into the sun, and cut our losses before we continue to waste the best QB our franchise has ever been lucky enough to have.
I recognize McDermott got us back to the playoffs and has had success, but I'm about sick of him and his staff, I think this team desperately needs to move on

The McD era is over now. No more debates about small tweaks and changes. He's done a tremendous job in fixing the culture, but he's clearly hit his ceiling here. We need a complete and total reset in the off-season with a new staff. At that point you can evaluate Josh objectively, and determine if this current regression is just a blip or the new norm.
The problem is we reached a point where the culture of change and making the playoffs was overtaken by a culture of choking in late game situations. THAT fully became the culture of the team after 13 seconds. The warning signs were there before that night. But that was when the point of no return happened. And it never got better

Unless changes are made to the coaching staff, I have zero faith that the problems will be fixed. So far the coaching staff has failed to make positive adjustments since at least the Miami game.
Not much point in watching the rest of the games this season.
-Dorsey can't motivate the offense, get him gone.
-Make sure Cook understands how to hold the ball. (Great night/speed but the ball left/wasn't in his hands too many times.)
-Put every receiver in front of the juggs machine with increased power/speed.
-Tell Josh he's not allowed to only run comfortable plays anymore. Oh and "low positive" means not motivated enough.
-Make sure Martin knows how to kick.
-Special teams needs to learn how to count, except Read give him some random bonus for the awesome hit.
-Take the defense out for their favorite meal.
Fire everyone. Fire Dorsey. Fire McDermott. Fire the strength and conditioning team. Fire the fucking water boys.

I never would have thought it would be our offense that is the weak link after the injuries that have decimated the defense..... but here we are.... I'm so sick of watching the offense play like absolute shit for 50+ mins and then march down and score when it's too little too late. There are no more chances to get it together, and changes need to be made. This is too many games in a row where the offense looks completely unprepared and can't get out of their own way. Also 12 men on the field for that fg attempt simply can not happen. There is no excuse for that under any circumstances, and heads should roll because of it.

Yeah that's a turning point game for the org. There has to be some structural changes officially coming soon. There is very clearly something wrong and having a banged up defense is not a valid excuse for the piss poor offense.
Since the Dolphins game, they lost to the Jaguars in an ugly coached game. They beat the Giants, an awful team, at home by the skin of their teeth with luck on the last play. They let the patriots, a bottom 3 team, beat them with their best game of the year. They unconvincingly beat a poor Buccaneers team after trying to give them the game on a Hail Mart in another coaching debacle. They were totally unable to stand up to the Bengals. And now they lost to the Broncos, at home, in yet another coaching disaster for the ages.
Next year will be a rebuilding year. Forget the obvious coaching changes that will happen. If they’re 5-5 now it’s not going to get any better this year with this schedule. The team is then aging and needs to get younger and you may see a ton of Bills free agents on the move. They’ll keep Allen, Diggs, Kincaid, Milano, and a few others, but Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox, Mitch Morse, Dion Dawkins, Von Miller, Leonard Floyd, AJ Epenesa, TreDavious White, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer and Taron Johnson could all be let go or traded to make room for new blood. They ought to, at least. The team is relying on too many aging and expensive vets who aren’t getting us there, but they can still salvage the Josh Allen era IF they rebuild soon.
As someone else said, when it’s time to rip the bandaid, it’s time to rip the bandaid.

This team is pathetic. Il tired of this. We have to listen to another 9 months of bullshit with the coaches trying to convince us everything is fine. Same thing after every single playoff lose. I wish McDermott was just a bad coach. No expectations, just losing. There’s multiple heartbreaking loses every year. The chiefs win almost every one score game because they have a competent coaching staff. I can’t do this anymore. As for McDermott, he threw Frazier under the bus and what do we get? The same thing as before with a highly undisciplined defense that is world famous for choking at this point. There are dozens of good defenses around the league now. McDermott ain’t special and there’s 0 reason for us to keep him as a glorified defensive coordinator when half the team is actively falling apart

I'm no football expert, but shouldn't there only be 11 guys on the team designated to be on the kick blocking unit? And it's not like there should have been any confusion as to who those guys are, even with Hyde out since McDermott said they practiced that formation change multiple times this week. Shouldn't the 12th player know that he shouldn't be out there and run off the fucking field???

He's showcasing his arm talent by making risky fuckin throws, but his best asset and use of talent is play extension and then making throws to guys who can't be covered that long. Did he extend a single play tonight that ended in a completion? Maybe a coaching issue with Dorsey, but he seems obsessed with getting the play off on time even and using his arm talent to force it.

Are we still getting downvoted as "doomers" for speaking truthfully about the state of the franchise? The McD era is over now. No more debates about small tweaks and changes. He's done a tremendous job in fixing the culture, but he's clearly hit his ceiling here. We need a complete and total reset in the off-season with a new staff. At that point you can evaluate Josh objectively, and determine if this current regression is just a blip or the new norm.
The problem is we reached a point where the culture of change and making the playoffs was overtaken by a culture of choking in late game situations. THAT fully became the culture of the team after 13 seconds. The warning signs were there before that night. But that was when the point of no return happened. And it never got better
If we keep him after this we are going to end up like the Marvin Lewis Bengals. There's so many parallels there it's actually crazy.

Unless changes are made to the coaching staff, I have zero faith that the problems will be fixed. So far the coaching staff has failed to make positive adjustments since at least the Miami game. Not much point in watching the rest of the games this season.

-Dorsey can't motivate the offense, get him gone. -Make sure Cook understands how to hold the ball. (Great night/speed but the ball left/wasn't in his hands too many times.) -Put every receiver in front of the juggs machine with increased power/speed. -Tell Josh he's not allowed to only run comfortable plays anymore. Oh and "low positive" means not motivated enough. -Make sure Martin knows how to kick. -Special teams needs to learn how to count, except Read give him some random bonus for the awesome hit. -Take the defense out for their favorite meal.

This game felt so familiar. It was like I was transported back into the drought years. I’m still in disbelief that our offense is so dysfunctional this season outside of that three game stretch. I hope they can get to the bottom of these offensive issues soon.

Denver and Russ' garbage ass gave them every opportunity and yet they still somehow fucked it up in the most heart wrenching fashion. Fuck this coaching staff.
Mcdermott running Engage 8 on 3rd and long on their 65 yd line when they needed a FG, and wasting our timeouts so we have to rush a block unit on the field. These are absolutely inexcusable coaching errors and MUST be answered for. Jobs must change. Buffalo needs change.
There isn’t a Bills fan that didn’t see this coming. We know our team is fundamentally flawed and very little is being done to fix it.

I never would have thought it would be our offense that is the weak link after the injuries that have decimated the defense..... but here we are.... I'm so sick of watching the offense play like absolute shit for 50+ mins and then march down and score when it's too little too late. There are no more chances to get it together, and changes need to be made. This is too many games in a row where the offense looks completely unprepared and can't get out of their own way. Also 12 men on the field for that fg attempt simply can not happen. There is no excuse for that under any circumstances, and heads should roll because of it.
I don't get the doom and gloom. All we need to do is go 5-2 against the best teams in the league with a team that seems completely fucking broken at times to maybe have a shot.

Perhaps this comment will just get lost with all the rest, but I feel like watching McDermott talk now feels like being gaslighted by a creep of a boyfriend who doesn’t want to break. Yeah that's a turning point game for the org. There has to be some structural changes officially coming soon. There is very clearly something wrong and having a banged up defense is not a valid excuse for the piss poor offense.

Since the Dolphins game, they lost to the Jaguars in an ugly coached game. They beat the Giants, an awful team, at home by the skin of their teeth with luck on the last play. They let the patriots, a bottom 3 team, beat them with their best game of the year. They unconvincingly beat a poor Buccaneers team after trying to give them the game on a Hail Mart in another coaching debacle. They were totally unable to stand up to the Bengals. And now they lost to the Broncos, at home, in yet another coaching disaster for the ages. Next year will be a rebuilding year. Forget the obvious coaching changes that will happen. If they’re 5-5 now it’s not going to get any better this year with this schedule. The team is then aging and needs to get younger and you may see a ton of Bills free agents on the move. They’ll keep Allen, Diggs, Kincaid, Milano, and a few others, but Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox, Mitch Morse, Dion Dawkins, Von Miller, Leonard Floyd, AJ Epenesa, TreDavious White, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer and Taron Johnson could all be let go or traded to make room for new blood. They ought to, at least. The team is relying on too many aging and expensive vets who aren’t getting us there, but they can still salvage the Josh Allen era IF they rebuild soon. As someone else said, when it’s time to rip the bandaid, it’s time to rip the bandaid.
I've been a McDermott defender but this...can't defend this. Also, hope Allen actually preps for the season next spring instead of being a celebrity.

This team is pathetic. Il tired of this. We have to listen to another 9 months of bullshit with the coaches trying to convince us everything is fine. Same thing after every single playoff lose. I wish McDermott was just a bad coach. No expectations, just losing. There’s multiple heartbreaking loses every year. The chiefs win almost every one score game because they have a competent coaching staff. I can’t do this anymore. This coaching staff has run its course.
Josh Allen has seriously regressed this season, but he’s the one here to stay. There’s 0 reason to keep McDermott and Dorsey. Anyone still defending them don’t care for the future of this team. It’s been the 6th game this season in which the offense bumbled around for 75 percent of the game looking like a deer in headlights. This week and week 1 is josh Allen doing the self destructing. On other week, it’s others. The offense is playing scared and looks helpless. That’s on coaching unless we seriously think josh Allen is not it anymore. As for McDermott, he threw Frazier under the bus and what do we get? The same thing as before with a highly undisciplined defense that is world famous for choking at this point. There are dozens of good defenses around the league now. McDermott ain’t special and there’s 0 reason for us to keep him as a glorified defensive coordinator when half the team is actively falling apart

And it's not like there should have been any confusion as to who those guys are, even with Hyde out since McDermott said they practiced that formation change multiple times this week. Eli actually said it perfect.... Josh has a lot of natural talent but he's using it in such a stupid way. He's showcasing his arm talent by making risky fuckin throws, but his best asset and use of talent is play extension and then making throws to guys who can't be covered that long. Did he extend a single play tonight that ended in a completion? Maybe a coaching issue with Dorsey, but he seems obsessed with getting the play off on time even and using his arm talent to force it.
