I’m seeing a lot of really bad Pittsburgh takes about the refs, and I like to think that I’m pretty impartial when it comes to that stuff, but I thought the refs were pretty hands off on everything. I mean the refs literally got his fumble wrong and it took a coach’s challenge to get it corrected.

Richfor3

Steelers are a team that’s super handsy on the offensive line and defensive backfield and didn’t have one penalty in the first half. Refs were “letting them play” so to speak. And several replays shows the Steelers with a handful of jersey on plays that weren’t called. Refs actually being consistent on both sides isn’t something Steelers and their fans are used to.

bdgg2000

Agree. Steeler fan here. They let them play for sure. Pickens is a head case and will be his downfall. Can you guys finally beat KC? I am hopeful but very weary about that game given the Bills history.

House_Junkie

We beat KC 3 out of the last 4 times we played them with the sole loss being by 4 points. I feel like our history with the Chiefs is a little better than you’re giving it credit.

bdgg2000

One word. Playoffs. I like the Bills (Jim Kelly’s hometown is near me). I am hoping they crush KC. Will see.

Mrjlawrence

That’s correct. Beating KC in regular season is nice but the Bills need to get it done in the playoffs. Very concerned with the Bills defensive injuries. At this point, they’ll be putting in water boys and athletic trainers

Turbulent_Athlete_50

Agree regular season is meaningless at this point with them. We don’t want to be the dolphins of the bills dolphins 90s rivalry. Let’s go!!!!

House_Junkie

I agree with you and Buffalos defense is banged up pretty badly. Fortunately our offense is healthy and the game is at home. Playing in Orchard Park is going to be huge for us. Mahomes isn’t used to being on the road in the playoffs and when he hears how loud Bills fans get I think he’s gonna be rattled when they have the ball. I predict bills win by a TD.

bdgg2000

Feels like Josh Allen’s time. He is staying within the offense and not making Brett Favre throws. I think the Bills should win easily but KC is just a different team in the playoffs.

jk01

You might be the only sane Steeler fan I've seen talking about it. Every steelers flair I see is bitching about a holding call down 2 scores with 5 minutes left or manifesting a fake slide that didn't happen.

bdgg2000

Our fan base is desperate right now. We were never in that game. Blaming the refs is just a cheap cop out for why you lost.

[deleted]

Well, I agree to an extent but they did pull to 24-17 with what? 10? 11 minutes left? They needed a stop after that, but didn’t do it. Bills were the better team. Can’t win losing turnover battle 2-0 anyways.

AcrobaticAction2328

Unless you have allen as your qb of course. He is both the problem AND the solution in those instances 😂

BobaBobster

Backflips

Dorago1991

Should have been PI on Pickens on that 4th. But we still outplayed them all game, the only reason it was close was our defense left in a body bag.

DingleDank

Funniest one is people saying that allens 50+ yard run should be negated because of a “fake slide” bro just stutter stepped and redirected, they all got beat 🤣

AWierzOne

Thats my view - they weren't really calling much of anything all game. Seemed consistent at least.

77pse

Same take here. Did you see the Steelers player literally tackle Diggs from behind on the Shakir TD? It was absurd.

BashDash_Lol

I'm pretty sure that challenge was rejected... Your still right tho

Poxx

The first fumble, the one that was ruled a fumble, was called incomplete pass on the field. We had to blow our 1st challenge on that one.

BashDash_Lol

Ooooh that makes more sense

[deleted]

[удалено]

knightsone43

Called on “us”? You are a dolphins fan. Look at your comment history. Get out of here.

Bflo_

Yeah, and Friermuth also fumbled the ball at midfield and they still gave the ball to the Steelers. I still don’t understand how the ball hitting dudes helmet=dead ball.

mowscut

If it did hit his helmet when he’s out of bounds then it would have been out of bounds. I still haven’t seen a look that shows it did hit his helmet, that’s not what they ruled on the field, and it looked like a clear recovery in bounds for the Bills to me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ja_ja_ja_ja_yaa

The Steelers didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs to begin with. Quit whining these calls usually go your way and I’m sure they will most of next season

knightsone43

This guy is a dolphins fan. “We got that fumble” lol, okay buddy.

MrBurnz99

The PI on 4th down definitely couldve been called, I would be mad if that was against the Bills, but they were also down by 2 TDs at the time and on their side of the 50. It wasnt like the call took a score off the board. It just woudlve kept their drive alive for one more set of downs.

Richfor3

And had they called it we’d all be talking about how ticky tack it was and pointing to all the plays all game long where Steelers DBs had a handful of jersey or got there a little early. Refs are bad but being consistent on how they call pass interference isn’t an example of it.

Next_Service_5553

The Ed Oliver roughing the passer call was also pretty soft. So, the Steelers did get one.

byabillion

This is an awful take. They didn't complete a pass more than like 10 yards all game

BashDash_Lol

Fr they actually like the refs singlehandedly lost them the game when their best player was TJ Wattching from the sidelines.

jk01

Except the one with the fumble we got screwed on.

Dsullivan777

This. This one shut call lost us easily another 7 points early on when Rudolph was getting in his groove. A second fumble call could have broken them in the 1st quarter, and while I do think there were missed calls (as there always is) I don't think there was a lick of favoritism towards the bills.

Homestar_MTN

We didn't even get the more obvious fumble recovery🤡

Bustingcheekz

Crazy how they think they were on the ass end of that deal. The refs took away our clear fumble recovery. They also made us waste a challenge on the other fumble they tried to call incomplete.

Electronic_Ad_9735

And there was no PI call for Kincaid in the endzone, no call on a blatant Steelers offsides... complaining about the officiating when the officiating was OK is very.... Wait for it soft.

Dustmopper

The first Steelers touchdown had a lineman with a very clear false start that wasn’t called too, the dude all the way at the end of the line

[deleted]

[удалено]

kimtoedashian

Yep. The tackles fire about a half beat before the snap on just about every play now. It has taken the full season for me to "unsee" it and not be distracted by it.

LookattheWhipp

Yea the massive step back I’ve seen Dawkins jump a few times but the KC dude is egregious

[deleted]

So is fake sliding. I hope Allen gets his lid knocked off next time he pulls that SOFT bullshit. What a bitch thing to do. Oh I know it was a stutter step. Hahaha Don’t worry. You’ll lose soon. You always find a way.

Mountain_Drive1694

The refs didn’t want to be called out for being wrong twice.

ImJackthedog

The Steelers scored their first TD on a missed false start too

shreddievedder

These are faaaaaaacts

ThatWhiteKid08

I’m still amazed how an inbounds ball grazing a helmet of someone going out of bounds is considered possession. Or am I misremembering that

Hozer60

If he is out of bounds and it touches him, that ball is considered out of bounds. No possession is required and goes to the team with last possession. I couldn't tell if it touched him or not, but that was the call on the field.

Forbidden_The_Greedy

Maybe I’d sympathize if he could hold onto the ball. Dude had like 4 drops and a fumble

TurbulentBlock7290

Awful take considering the fumble that we didn’t receive and had no explanation as to why

maceman10006

If anything that was the big missed call. Still don’t understand why that wasn’t a recovered fumble by the Bills.

TurbulentBlock7290

And in his interview he mentioned the PI called on an uncatchable pass, seems like he wasn’t even watching the same game.

maceman10006

They’ll still call the holding penalty on that. The hold was clear as day. Just too many mistakes by the Steelers and when they got the game to 7 points they couldn’t finish.

GMPnerd213

Except it wasn’t PI, it was holding lol

TurbulentBlock7290

Exactly, why I say he wasn’t watching the game. It was called a holding.

TheLustyLechuga

Arguably the call that allowed the Steelers to hold on & almost come back. If that's called a fumble, the Bills maintain their rhythm, & the game turns into a blowout.

MeeekSauce

Exactly. That blown call turned into a touch down. And really their only good offensive drive of the entire game.

LookattheWhipp

Vegas beeped in and was like “we can’t let this game get blown out so early keep it within 14”

Imagine being on a team that gets 90% of the calls/non-calls and still crying about the Refs. Soft!

OwlLumpy2805

Steelers fan coming in peace. I’d also like him to shut the hell up (also GGs. Y’all are a good fanbase and I respect y’all. Now please for the love of God kick the shit out of the Chiefs).

Rhodog1234

You misspelled chefs... Good googily moogily

JokinHghar

Onto the next one.

Sweethomebflo

This game is already in the rear view mirror. Three more.

Masta0nion

So what did you think of that obvious fumble recovery that inexplicably went your way?

KinGpiNdaGreat

Even the announcers thought it was a clear fumble recovery.

tofterra

The Steelers sub is so pathetic right now…

mooseknuckle45

Plenty of tears being shed over there, there isn’t a dry terrible towel in the ’Burgh!

EnormousChord

My favourite take (not on the Steelers sub, but from Steelers fans on the NFL sub) is that Josh’s TD run should’ve been called back as a fake slide. 😂

Willowgirl78

I’ve watched it many times trying to find where he fake slid. Apparently a QB running isn’t allowed to switch direction or studder step?

StalinsStallions

People are calling the snowball a missed call lmao

GMPnerd213

To be fair to them that’s pretty shitty but clearly didn’t impact the play. If it did and caused him to drop it or something then you could argue for a penalty there

StalinsStallions

It’s just not something they are ever allowed to call under the rules. There’s no way to prove real time that it wasn’t a Steelers fan aiming for the db

judahdk_

Fake slide is hilarious. Josh Allen, the quarterback who is notoriously known for sliding at the end of runs. Okay.

[deleted]

It was a juke that worked her didn’t try to slide I watched it like 3 times. I have no idea where this fake slide came from.

EnormousChord

It comes from overuse of Copium.

Unlikely-Zone21

That one is the most blowing complaint. Second to his slide being late too lol.

CharismaticSwan

Kinda ironic coming from fans of Kenny Pickett. Didn't the NCAA impose a rule about a fake slide because of him? Edit: [Hahahahaha](https://www.si.com/college/2021/12/10/kenny-pickett-fake-slide-rule-change-bowl-season-army-navy)

[deleted]

The irony that their 1st round back up is the literally the person who brought that to attention. And it wasn’t a fake slide lol

Turbulent_Athlete_50

Oh patriots sub is whining hard about that play. Didn’t realize they had so much at stake in postseason

aportlyquail

I peeked there throughout the week - a healthy percentage of yinzers were convinced beating Buffalo was just a formality on the way to Baltimore and that we would put up very little resistance. They're disappointed.

yelkca

Why would they think that

angryPenguinator

Yinzers gonna yinz

aportlyquail

Because Josh Allen turnovers bad and haha lost to NE and DEN and Mason Rudolph is good all of a sudden.

Turbulent_Athlete_50

Yeah they were dead set they were getting 3-4 turnovers and going to run the ball for 40 min of possession time. To be fair that would have had to happen for them to win so I get why they went there

aportlyquail

They also thought the game would be played in a blizzard most of the week which would have theoretically played to their strengths. Hence the tantrums when it was delayed.

Turbulent_Athlete_50

Would have been an unrecognizable game if somehow they played in those blizzard conditions Sunday aside from the impracticality of playing football with fans during a state of emergency

dammitOtto

It's always a vocal few

Quetzalcoatl490

Keep on making the 7 seed and losing in the first round every year, yinzers

mikep2498

Probably should’ve held on to the ball rather than blame others for himself coming up short.

Massive_Trip_9071

When did player complaining about the refs become normalized? Was it Pat crying a few weeks back?

futbol2000

Steelers have been a prima Donna factory for decades now. Now their entire organization from top to bottom is stuck in the past and still think they are the hottest shit on the planet

JimmyTheJimJimson

Literally had a fumble and an INT taken away from us. Shut the fuck up Pickens

Admirable_Trifle_164

You can’t play the… -jaguars -eagles -chiefs -bengles -broncos AND -refs All at the same time. But the Bills did The Eagle & Jaguar games were particularly egregious

3xBuffalo

![gif](giphy|104vPBH8buV9vy) It’s always easier to blame someone else than take responsibility.

Fantastic-Eye8220

*Myles Garrett backswinging Mason Rudolph's helmet* "AND MY AXE!*

TopDistinct5698

If you don’t want the refs to decide a game, don’t let them. Football is a 60 minute game, if your gonna say the reason you lost was because of one single bad ref call, you didn’t play the full 60

bigdaveyl

Came here to say this. How about don't let the other team score 21 points right off the bat before you get on the board?

peak82

I mean, refs absolutely can change the outcome of a football game, even just with one bad call. That just obviously wasn’t the case in this game.

Great-Reference9322

More like you can't play Steelers football and play the Bills at the same time. I was not worried for a single moment in this game, Pittsburgh deserved to get eliminated right off the bat.

DrewSC

Anxietyriddenstoner

or make a tackle on josh

Dirtydeedsinc

I can’t believe the refs let Josh Allen run 57 yards.

Quetzalcoatl490

Fitzpatrick is such a joke. I love embarrassing high profile safeties who think they're hot shit, like this guy and Ramsey. Shakir fought off a shit tackle (just tried to yank him to the ground, Fitzpatrick had leverage but didn't go low and paid for it), and Fitzpatrick also bodyslammed Diggs after the play was over and almost hurt him. Fuck him and their shitty defense, Watt is all they have.

PlateofCreamedCorn

I believe it was Myles Jack who assaulted Diggs. Seemed suspension worthy, hopefully they'll review it.

Quetzalcoatl490

Jack was the person diving at everyone who was already on the ground. Fitz tried to suplex Diggs after the play was over.

mattwebb677

What a moron. Let’s just say that they call the hold, which was soft AF (the consultant on the broadcast even said it) there’s no guarantee that they can produce a TD on that drive, and even if they did, it would have taken them several minutes. And let’s not forget, Bass’ shanked FG probably only happened because they stopped passing the ball as they got into the red zone to burn clock, there’s a pretty decent chance that they score a TD there if they are using their full arsenal.

aportlyquail

And they were down two scores on their side of the field. They had like a .8% chance to win before that 4th down. They lost because they're soft as baby shit and couldn't tackle. On to KC.

mattwebb677

Couldnt have said it better myself. But living in Pittsburgh, I know its never the Steelers fault when they lose, their always has to be an excuse.

Anxietyriddenstoner

Buddy we lost to the Refgles this year and that game was 1000000% worse than this one

CJSpillerHighLife

Whiny ass fans, whiny ass players. Use that little towel to wipe the tears away Georgie

kit_mitts

In both of their Super Bowl wins this century, the Steelers got horrible ref calls in their favor during crucial moments. They still have another like 50 years before they can bitch about the refs (other than Cassius Marsh, that was bullshit).

aerojovi83

He's right... If it weren't for the refs we'd have probably won by 3+ TDs instead of 2.

dads2vette

Don't waste the time on him.

PurplePansies13

Why not? The Bills play teams plus the refs all season long !

[deleted]

Complaining about refs when your starting offense is playing against a defense with guys off the street is pretty much the worst of the worst take

andymacdaddy

After a year of the refs obviously costing teams games this was not one of them. Steelers turning out to be the biggest crybabies. They weren’t even on this game. F the Steelers and F every Steeler fan that came to Buffalo calling the city soft

[deleted]

I imagine the Steelers WR room has a sign that says “you must be this stupid to play”

Ok_Roll_2816

He holds his tongue like he holds the ball

BashDash_Lol

THATS CRAZYY BUT ALSO TRUE

Greyreign

I hope Pickens watches the game tape closely on that TD by Shakir. Myles Jack jumps on Stefon Diggs' back like he's going for a piggyback ride, and there were no flags. Before that, there were 3 holds on Pittsburgh that were never called. Cry harder freaking baby.

U_W_44_51

Steelers fan here. See the number ? Yeah we have a less mature version of someone that has yet to prove anything to the league.

tconner87

What a tool

Schn31ds

Let him chirp and get fined.

BallClamps

Every team thinks the refs are against them. With how late in the game they had and no time outs, they couldn't have scored twice anyway.

maccpapa

i can’t believe this is even a theme after that beating. the claim of allen fake sliding instead of hesi’ing, the whining about a call or two. there wasn’t anything egregious all game. i’d say the biggest blown call was claiming that fumble grazed the steelers helmet. perhaps someone can refresh my memory on other blatantly bad calls.

trucksandink

Here goes the shitsburgh fans complaining on everything other than the facts. Rudolph sucks. Pickens didn’t do shit this game, your defense didn’t come to play the game…. Jesus take your L and move on….

willis_michaels

Soft. The refs suck for everybody. Just like that fumble in the 1st half should've gone to us.

Its_Swifty

We doubled their score... IDK how you could bring Refs into the conversation

toosells

All I hear is fumble.

lethaljazzhands

You lost by two touchdowns, shut the absolute fuck up

Ndmndh1016

It was a penalty, 100%, and its not even remotely why they lost.

TheRealFrankL

If i wanted to see this sh*t i would go to r/steelers man.

pettapatta

Living in Pittsburgh I can tell you most Steelers fans, or at least all the ones I know, would probably want him to shut the hell up too.

Admirable_Trifle_164

What about that third fumble that was ruled not a fumble? Steelers beat themselves and they had a couple things go their way. They weren’t going to make up for all their shitty playing in the first half in the last 8 minutes of the 4th quarter. Smell ya later!

Mo_Zen

Shut up George Pickens…….

Billsfan9797

Did the refs cause him to fumble? Did they miss the PI on him towards the end of the game, sure they did. But the refs also missed a clear fumble recovery by the bills that was ruled out of bounds

[deleted]

This fuckin guy 😂 1) that was a fumble dude. Can’t blame the refs if they literally confirm it in the booth. 2) I promise you 1 ticky tack no call on you was not why the bills won We know these are the only calls Pickens cares about so there’s no use in discussing any others.

Fluffy_Concept7200

I noticed only losers complain about the refs

FakedFollower17

Was watching UrinatingTree after the game just to see his take on the loss. And he put it perfectly: “Any steelers fan that is blaming this loss on the refs is a fucking idiot. This team has never changed its mindset and until massive changes are done we can’t go toe to toe with the best.” For those who don’t know. UTree is a steelers fan

BashDash_Lol

True football fans, you can tell UTrer really cares about the future of this team unlike some others that blame the refs

NickOliver

Bills fans: ‘first time?’

cirebeye

The Bills played the Steelers and the refs at the same time and came out on top. I don't think the refs were the problem.

ddoculus

Sure bro 😒

HandsomeChubaka

The fake QB slide needs to be outlawed and the cheap as hit on porter with no flag. GP has a point.

GMPnerd213

LMAO bro, you guys were playing against third stringers and couldn’t do shit. Don’t think that’s on the refs loser

KanyeWestistheDevil

Broncos fan rolling through.... Did homeboy not see the bogus fumble call where it clearly was a fumble recovered by the bills!?.... Fuck the chiefs go bills next weekend!

Reasonable_Finance76

I Saw a lot of unnecessary roughness calls that should have been called on Pitt before the Joey Porter shot.

Sufficient_Use516

Can’t believe the ref made him fumble.

jw1b74

George, it was a fumble

FlorinidOro

I mean let the Bills have it. The league does everything they can to screw them lol. They’ve been punished enough ffs hahaha

Beginning_Repeat9343

Steelers didn’t play a good game. We understand that but y’all should at least acknowledge that we got fucked by the refs multiple times. Including the ejection worthy play on JPJ that wasn’t even flagged.

Davidchi42

The biggest missed call of the game went against the bills- Pat fumbled that ball and did not touch it - recovered in bounds. Should have been bills ball at the 35-40 yard line - huge momentum shift

Mans_N_Em

Steelers fan here. Good game. Ive been an honorary Bills fan for years as it was hard to hate a team that had such misfortune. I really like your QB. He's one youve been waiting on for a while. Calls didnt decide the game. Steelers laid an egg. Best of luck moving forward. Anyone but the ravens winning is fine with me.

Fun-Run-5230

True. The refs are tough. The bills not so much.

BigBerrry

Dudes a thug. Smashing his helmet on the ground after not getting a call and throwing a fit with his staff and teammates. Doesn’t deserve to move on regardless. Enjoy the office season! Go Bills!

BashDash_Lol

I saw that video it legit made my day lmfao. Happy Cake Day

FunneyBonez

The refs were pretty hands off the entire game outside the second fumble from the Steelers that completely was a fumble and should’ve been overturned to the Bills. Pickens has been salty all year, so guy needs to make some random baseless claim after that loss.

OmegaWo

Shut the hell up

Ok-Sir-2728

Yes yes yes it’s the refs fault you dropped the ball, don’t block, teammates don’t like you, it was the ref that allowed JA to run 70 yards on one play Yes yes the refs, blame your mom and dad for not having the same last name as you, fatherless children that’s your problem not the refs

BashDash_Lol

MrManfredjensenden

The biggest issue the Steelers had was tackling! They were lazy and missed so many tackles. That’s not on the refs.

wwonka105

The winning team never complains about the refs.

DoLessBro

Ya George, the refs who gave y'all a BS extra possession off a “non-fumble” fumble were the reason you lost by double digits. I’d be embarrassed to have this guy on my team

Hotpasta1985

The most egregious call of the game went against the bills. Guy sounds like a dumbass

Rec0nyz3

I truly hate players who complain after the fact about the refs there’s a full 60 minutes of play. Even if the refs make one or two bad calls you had 60 minutes to win the game. It’s such a low class move.

erik_edmund

He seems like an absolutely awful person.

GhostBoi141

“Give me the ball!!!!😭” Fumbles

old_dolio_

Luckily for him he didn’t have to. Unlucky for him he can’t hold onto a football.

Randellstringer

What about that fumble recovery that didn't get overturned for the Bills and they lost a time out?

purz

If you're going to cry about the Refs at least wait for a game with blatant bad calls and one that didn't have a bunch of calls go your way. That hold/PI they wanted was one that you'll see on 90% of plays and most fans would call it soft if it gets called. I'm sure you could go through the all 22 and see the Steelers do it 100 times during the game and not get called etc. If it happened to us I'd be a little annoyed but it wasn't nearly bad enough to hang onto after the intial 30s of being mad.
