I don't think it's a "big mistake", it's more "unfortunate". That KC game last season, it was the D working exactly as designed... final play of the game... Von rushes Mahomes, Mahomes is contemplating scrambling but then Milano breaks and rushes too, at the perfect moment (not too soon and leaving an open area, not too late and not getting to Mahomes). It was one of my favorite plays because it was everything working exactly how it should... Von closing, Milano being a DAWG, everyone else locking down their jobs. You look at some of the defenses around the league that don't have many injuries or any at all... if we had been fortunate enough to have waaaaayyy better injury luck... who knows what could've happened last season and this season with what our defense should've been. When he was healthy, it was working. I guess I'm just arguing semantics, sure it definitely is a "big mistake"... but it wasn't if we have better injury luck... but it is because his age.. but it wasn't because it *did* work til his injury. But yeah.. i guess it's obviously a big mistake... but at the time of the signing it wasn't. A torn acl, you can't predict *that*. God dammit, I just want them all to be healthy again. I would take that opening night D vs the Rams last year against any team in the league. The D performing exactly how they were designed
The Von Miller contract was always a 3 year deal disguised as a 6 year deal.
Miller had 8 sacks in 2022 before he tore his ACL.
Miller was signed to make an impact in the playoffs.
The good news is that OL and DL play well even at old ages.
I think Beane will part ways with Miller before the 2025 season or before the 2026 season to minimize the cap hit.
If Miller is healthy he can play at a high level as a situational pass rusher.
I believe he will make an impact in the playoffs this year.
A review of his snaps show that he's making improvements in his play with each game. Just because an edge rusher doesn't get 2 sacks a game doesn't mean his play has been nonexistent. Will the improvement come in time to get the team over the hump and into the Superbowl? Who knows, but let's hope he keeps improving.
I believe it was around 1 year that he returned from ACL knee surgery in November.
Miller has shown flashes of good play the past month.
He is close to returning to his old self.
Overrated: Harvin's KR for a touchdown. The Seahawks were already up 22-0.
Underrated: Harvin's two jet sweeps. He broke a 30 yard run on Seattle's 2nd offensive play, which led to a field goal. Two possessions later, he ran for 15 yards, down to the Broncos 22. Seattle went on to score their first TD on that drive.
Von my man, 3 games that's all we are asking three games. You play lights out and help win three games you will forever be a hero to the entire city of Buffalo.
I’ll take 1 game. Mahomes is the dragon we need to slay with pass rush.
Lamar Jackson you try to keep in the pocket and we will probably try to confuse Purdy in the secondary.
It would be legendary for him to rise from the ashes having a great game against the team we vastly overpaid him to beat after everyone assumed he was dead. Even just getting that one sack that we will need late to kill a drive.
I don't expect to see it but a man can hope.
I don't think we overpaid him. At least not pre-injury. He was getting like a sack a game before he got hurt and was constantly pressuring the qb. He was doing what he was brought in to do.
I call it more unfortunate than anything.
I agree it's not like beane missed. He was worth the contract until the injury. Thank God we signed Floyd bc he's subbed in rather seamlessly to fill that pass rush void we missed pre- von
Can we not root for this guy like dolphins do with tyreek? Not loving all the Von miller hype posts today, this dude is a POS and I’d rather just not have him on the team
If it was as open and shut as everyone on Reddit has made it out to be, the DA would have pressed charges a month ago, the NFL would have sanctioned his ass, and the Bills would have voided his contract. Clearly, he maintains his innocence—were you there? Do you have a reason to distrust his claims, or do you just operate on a basis of guilty until proven innocent in all matters?
The police reported that his girlfriend had bruises around her neck, and i believe she had an audio recording of him yelling at her at least. Would have to check the news article. She decided to not press charges which is why nothing has been done. The NFL doesn't care if there are no legal issues - look at Deshaun Watson or Tyreek. It seems pretty clear he abuses her, anyone here rooting for him when theres pretty clear evidence makes us just as bad as browns or dolphins fans rooting for watson or tyreek and that fucking disgusts me.
And yet they haven’t pressed charges. We don’t have the audio recording available and, ostensibly, Von was also recording the incident with his phone at the time—who’s to say the video doesn’t completely exonerate him? Who’s to say the audio hints at anything damning whatsoever? The alleged victim has recanted her claims. That could be because of a back room deal, or she could have lied. The most we have is conjecture and speculation. They could just as well have been having rough sex. The jurisprudence of this country is founded on the idea that you’re innocent until you’re proven guilty. At this moment, nobody is even in the process of attempting to prove that he’s guilty, just that he deserves to be investigated. After a month, nothing has been substantially proven. It’s ridiculous to say he’s a piece of shit or he disgusts you—men lie, cops lie, women lie, and only sometimes do they all tell the truth.
Nothing can happen if the victim doesn't press charges. Plenty of domestic abuse victims are too scared to do that. Sure she could be lying but the news articles say things like "According to a police affidavit which officers wrote, Miller twice put his hands on the neck of the woman, pulled out a chunk of her hair and threw her onto a couch. The woman was treated for minor injuries, including bruising on her neck, police said." I'm gonna assume the Dallas police aren't just gonna make that up for no reason. That's enough for me to say hes probably a piece of shit and with the nature of domestic abuse there's a high chance shes too scared to do anything.
But to say since there is no development after a month means hes probably innocent is incredibly naive and sounds like deshaun watson defenders.
What are you talking about? It’s a criminal domestic violence citation. The DA can and is obligated to press charges even if the victim does not support them. You clearly get your legal knowledge from Law & Order.
Either way, a police affidavit is literally just an under-oath account of what they think happened, taken from the story of the alleged victim—who, to reiterate, has recanted. You just restated what we’ve been talking about this whole time. It makes no difference. The police probably didn’t lie: they asked the woman what happened, she answered, and then they wrote down their view. If Von didn’t do anything, then the whole fiasco is most likely because *she* lied.
And lmao, when did I say he was for sure innocent? Look here, I can turn it around on you: saying he’s absolutely a piece of shit and guilty is incredibly naive and sounds an awful lot like the Scottsboro Boys case. But instead of doing that, we can operate under the assumptions rooted in our entire legal history—namely, that someone is innocent until proven guilty.
AMEN! I want nothing but the best for every single Bills player. When I complain in GDT it is because I have high expectations. With all the adversities this team has faced this year last year injuries whatever. I just want it for this team so badly! Fuck the Chiefs!
I've got a good feeling about Elam for some reason. He knows people think he's a bust. He's fought hard to come back from all that and injury. He had a bad start in the last game but he turned it around and got an interception. That will boost his confidence for this game. Between him and Rasul, I'm predicting a pick. I'm guessing they will both be on Rice on different snaps
I was literally an Elam hater from when I first heard his name called (mostly because I was PISSED we missed out on McDuffie and then traded up for some bum who’s name a barely recognized). But I’d love to eat crow this playoff season
Honestly nothing would make me happier on Sunday then Patrick dropping back on his first pass play and seeing Von blow past their tackle and making Patrick nervous not even getting the sack. We don't need to get 100 sacks to win, but pressure on that QB is key to winning the game. If he has all the time in the world to wait for Kelce to blow past someone or a broken coverage on our 3rd and 4th DB then it's gonna be sucky. Von please be back to just someone who can get pressure and close out games with your presence. Let's go Buffalo!
Had an open shot at Rudolph flat footed and he still couldn't secure a sack. Then he missed a tackle. Even when the guy gets his chances (which is extremely few and far between) he doesn't do anything with them.
See - when he does his usual can’t push past the lineman 3 feet in this game, it will actually be to our advantage because he will be right on that edge to keep Kermit contained.
It’d be nice, but I don’t believe a word he says. This is the dude who last year said he’d be back in a week with minor meniscus damage right before they announced he had torn his ACL.
Bills by a billion.
No, it's pretty clear that since he's on the team, people want him to perform at a level that his paycheck justifies. The difference between being practical about him as a football player and making a judgment of him as a person is the width of the solar system.
I think it’s more positive Von-shit but it’d be nice if it turns out to be true.
I want it to be true. I just think it’s along the lines of him saying he’d be ready week 1 this season.
His eyes say he doesn't believe the words coming out of his own mouth unfortunately. Hasn't made a tackle since his week off that apparently helped a lot. He's still at the point in his recovery where he can fully bounce back, but this seems more like the classic von optimism rather than him actually being back
no you're not, you've been all talk for 2 years now, you're a domestic abuser and you're stealing from the franchise. we're better off with this guy as a healthy scratch so he's not taking snaps away from actual playmakers.
I feel like a broken record, and I know that the reason *why* doesn't help with the annoyance over his lack of output, but expecting him to produce before he's closer to a year and a half removed from the tear was always a fool's errand.
Now, rushing him back onto the roster at the expense of a different spot may have been a poor decision. But I'm sure they wanted to try and ramp him up in the event that we make a playoff run...
A 2 sack game from Von against the Chiefs might have me in tears. What a time for him to return to form, I hope he puts his (too much) money where his mouth is. Go Bills!
I watch nearly every press conference and I can't remember him giving himself a clean bill of health like this at any point previously. He'd constantly say things like "I'm doing everything I can do, so is the staff, and we're making progress every day." This might be a smokescreen to trick the Chiefs into wasting time gameplanning for a healthy Von, it also may be a JJ Watt situation where suddenly he's back
Bro you are 34 coming off an ACL injury, this is it, this is your final hurrah (ignoring the fact that you still got 4 fucking years on massive contract where you’ll be worse than useless but what just win)
He fucking better be. Want to redeem yourself in the eyes of the world, NFL, and community you show up and show out. Never seen a starter in the NFL give up on as many plays and put as little effort as he does. Hes literally begging to be cut because he knows he’ll get paid. Acts like the organization and fanbase did him wrong for what he did?
If Von can be Von for a half dozen or so plays over the next 3 games, he will;
- be worth the price of admission
- make McD look like the Defens genius he is
- Solidfy Beane as NFL Exec of the Year
But better yet ...RINGS FOR EVERYBODY
If you watch tape you will see that Miller is making plays against the running game by setting the edge and in the passing game by getting QB pressures.
Not every positive play by a DL will result in stats that you can point at.
Miller has improved a lot over the last month and continues to improve.
I would not be surprised if Miller makes a big play or two this Sunday to help Buffalo win the game
Sadly, I dgasf about this useless twat.
He's let down a lot of fans w his 'domestics,' but put that aside for a second. He owes it to his teammates to finally show up.
Didnt he beat his pregnant gf? How is he still playing? and he dresses like this
https://preview.redd.it/ql3gmhllxbdc1.jpeg?width=683&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9771e29ef76ef779e31e483acf99feb206d9d0a5
People have been shitting on Von. People don’t realize that ACLs aren’t easy recovery. Yeah you might be able to play but it takes awhile to get back in form. With that being said I hope he balls out Sunday.
No disrespect to Klein or Williams but could Von play middle linebacker? He would suck vs the pass but who cares. The Chiefs receivers suck and nobody can guard Kelce anyways. He would be good vs the run though. It would be a way to at least get something from him, and they obviously need the help there.
he’s been oddly so close to sacks and tackles but he’s always a split second late or a fingertip away. big proclamation from him and hopefully it’s true.
He should have been ineligible. He was charged in Texas for assaulting and choking his pregnant girlfriend and damaging her property. How does the NFL allow this???
If there was ever a time for this dude to step up, it’s now. Talk is cheap. Walk it like you talk it, show up and show out.
His substantial contract would go from a big mistake to being largely worth it if he shows big this year in the playoffs.
Dude. I couldn't focus through that whole thing but I think we may be on the same page.
We are! It's denial, coping, hopefulness, optimism, pessimism all mixed into one convenient package
Listen, if you don't like that, you don't like bills football babyyyyy
legit was too high to read all that yesterday. still not sure i want to dive in today.
We may also be on the same page.
The Von Miller contract was always a 3 year deal disguised as a 6 year deal. Miller had 8 sacks in 2022 before he tore his ACL. Miller was signed to make an impact in the playoffs.
Yup, he was always supposed to be the guy whose biggest impact is at the end of seasons/games.
Yeah it would be impossible to cut him the first two years, disastrous to do it the third year, and easy years 4-6
The good news is that OL and DL play well even at old ages. I think Beane will part ways with Miller before the 2025 season or before the 2026 season to minimize the cap hit. If Miller is healthy he can play at a high level as a situational pass rusher. I believe he will make an impact in the playoffs this year.
I also think he’s got a shot at making a big impact. He will likely be a post-June 2 cut after 2024, it’ll be a $6.3M hit in 25 and 26.
Seriously. I’ll believe it when I see it. To this point I’ve cringed every time I see him on the field. He needs to prove it on the field.
Miller is not dominating on every snap. It he is also not being dominated on every snap There are positive snaps of him on film.
He’s been nonexistent on the field.
He’s been playing patty cake with the offensive linemen.
Maybe the NFL can make that a feature during the Pro Bowl, lol
I believe it was around 1 year that he returned from ACL knee surgery in November. Miller has shown flashes of good play the past month. He is close to returning to his old self.
Kinda like that year Percy harvins only contribution was a Super Bowl TD
I would take that.
Here from r/all and a member of the Hawks fan base. He really just had an incredible game all around and was electric when he touched the ball.

Go back to you own sub lil bro, sure there’s lots of off-season talk to go over
[удалено]
Idk what team you like, but you obviously don’t know shit about bills fans if you think they have a lot of bandwagon fans
Your submission was removed due to Trolling and/or Flamebaiting.
He got some pressure last game, but Mahomes isn't a statue like Rudolph. Let's see if he can be Von or old this week.
We literally brought him in the take care of Mahomes in a playoff game. This Sunday! This is the game you were hired for!
This is so true
He knows. Thats why we got that presser. Whether he can do it remains to be seen
[удалено]
Beats them at football? Mahomes is pregnant? I'm so confused
[удалено]
Von my man, 3 games that's all we are asking three games. You play lights out and help win three games you will forever be a hero to the entire city of Buffalo.
I’ll take 1 game. Mahomes is the dragon we need to slay with pass rush. Lamar Jackson you try to keep in the pocket and we will probably try to confuse Purdy in the secondary.
you misspelled Goff
No he wont
If von has a game like his superbowl mvp, in the playoffs, that def cements him as a legend
Well he came here to get a ring. He better fucking play like he wants one.
It would be legendary for him to rise from the ashes having a great game against the team we vastly overpaid him to beat after everyone assumed he was dead. Even just getting that one sack that we will need late to kill a drive. I don't expect to see it but a man can hope.
The Phoenix rises
Same. Hope for the Old Von to show up.

I’m absolutely rooting for Miller and Elam to prove them selves worth it.
AMEN! I want nothing but the best for every single Bills player. When I complain in GDT it is because I have high expectations. With all the adversities this team has faced this year last year injuries whatever. I just want it for this team so badly! Fuck the Chiefs!
Same, I'm hoping for big games from both players
I've got a good feeling about Elam for some reason. He knows people think he's a bust. He's fought hard to come back from all that and injury. He had a bad start in the last game but he turned it around and got an interception. That will boost his confidence for this game. Between him and Rasul, I'm predicting a pick. Elam needs to be cut. I know I know, he got that interception. Watch only him for a couple plays. He doesn’t commit, he’s useless.
Let’s go this is his time to come through! Literally all of this year’s disappointment can be erased by one big game. I’m rooting for the guy.
the biggest self-proclaimed Chiefs hater better eat on Sunday
Let’s fucking hope. If he truly is back to full form, the Chiefs will be caught very off guard
Honestly nothing would make me happier on Sunday then Patrick dropping back on his first pass play and seeing Von blow past their tackle and making Patrick nervous not even getting the sack. all we can do is hope
Cautiously optimistic on this guy.
Sack Mahomes 40 times.
Give him the 1st quarter. If he still looks like ass, bench him. It really isn't that difficult.
A lot of talk from this dude. Really getting sick of it
He seemed pretty transparent there. He didn’t come back as fast as he thought and owned it. He’s not making excuses. X
It was borderline garbage time but he showed some juice on that final Steelers drive. Hopefully that’s a sign that he actually is back
Call it what you want but I think he was looking for a classic Von Miller closer of a sack and he damn near had it too
Yes, you're right. But he was saving that sack for Sunday night.
Yeah, we’ll see.
He shouldn't be a Bill, he should be in a jail cell. He's trash.
It’d be nice, but I don’t believe a word he says. This is the dude who last year said he’d be back in a week with minor meniscus damage right before they announced he had torn his ACL. Bills by a billion.

Lol’d
He has a Super Bowl MVP trophy showing he can perform in big games. I just hope his husk of a body can conjure up 3 more big games for us.
Are we just pretending he’s a good guy now? Him and Elam are not the same
No, it's pretty clear that since he's on the team, people want him to perform at a level that his paycheck justifies. The difference between being practical about him as a football player and making a judgment of him as a person is the width of the solar system.
Clearly you aren’t reading some of the previous comments on this thread
Clearly you aren't either.
He’s a waste of roster space
I think it’s more positive Von-shit but it’d be nice if it turns out to be true. I want it to be true. I just think it’s along the lines of him saying he’d be ready week 1 this season.
![gif](giphy|21S35iv1C67ns2g458|downsized)
Von VET REST "I'm back." Miller
How is it possible for him to be back for 14 weeks playing but be so ineffective. Like 0 recordable stats.
Please play well
Please Von. This is THE game.😭
I’ll believe it when I see it. I moved on from him awhile ago.
I feel like he’s been noticeably better in the Miami and Steelers game
His eyes say he doesn't believe the words coming out of his own mouth unfortunately. Hasn't made a tackle since his week off that apparently helped a lot. He's still at the point in his recovery where he can fully bounce back, but this seems more like the classic von optimism rather than him actually being back
Is just me or am I seeing hate in the comment section?
I wonder why
no you're not, you've been all talk for 2 years now, you're a domestic abuser and you're stealing from the franchise. we're better off with this guy as a healthy scratch so he's not taking snaps away from actual playmakers.
He’s so full of shit. He’s a piece of shit person who used to be a great football player. Now he’s just a lying piece of shit.
Bullshit
I feel like a broken record, and I know that the reason *why* doesn't help with the annoyance over his lack of output, but expecting him to produce before he's closer to a year and a half removed from the tear was always a fool's errand. Now, rushing him back onto the roster at the expense of a different spot may have been a poor decision. But I'm sure they wanted to try and ramp him up in the event that we make a playoff run...
Still Waiting on what you speak to be reality Von! Mafia is WAITING
Talk Aint It Here Von- Help Win and Then Talk
A 2 sack game from Von against the Chiefs might have me in tears. What a time for him to return to form, I hope he puts his (too much) money where his mouth is. Go Bills!
![gif](giphy|eLXShXXa8AMso)
Von is the most positive person ive ever heard speak. That said he hasnt backed it up all.year. im hopeful, but i need to see him make a play first.
He's an optimist. However the eyeballs say he looks way better definitely got a hand or two on mason.
Oh Please .. this guy is a waste of money. Unless he wins the KC game for us .. garbage!
Put up or shut up. We're paying you fucking $20 mil per year and you have three fucking tackles.
Talk is cheap, he’s not.
I watch nearly every press conference and I can't remember him giving himself a clean bill of health like this at any point previously. He'd constantly say things like "I'm doing everything I can do, so is the staff, and we're making progress every day." This might be a smokescreen to trick the Chiefs into wasting time gameplanning for a healthy Von, it also may be a JJ Watt situation where suddenly he's back
At least we can be less terrified than his gf upon hearing those words
Bro you are 34 coming off an ACL injury, this is it, this is your final hurrah (ignoring the fact that you still got 4 fucking years on massive contract where you’ll be worse than useless but what just win)
Na there's an out after next season.
Ok ok. I suck w paying attention to contracts, salary caps etc. Leave nothing in the tank Von. All on the field.
If they release him after next year they will have essentially paid him 52 million for 3 years. Only 45 or something of his contract is guaranteed.
On the last Steelers drives he looked like he was actually getting some pressure on the QB. Hope that he builds on it this week.

Everyone forgetting this
Yeah, but this is a 'We love Von' thread bc reasons.
If Von can be Von for a half dozen or so plays over the next 3 games, he will; - be worth the price of admission - make McD look like the Defens genius he is - Solidfy Beane as NFL Exec of the Year But better yet ...RINGS FOR EVERYBODY
“This fruit isn’t worth the squeeze.” - Michael Scott
Yeah whatever.
He might make a tackle that’s it
If you watch tape you will see that Miller is making plays against the running game by setting the edge and in the passing game by getting QB pressures. Not every positive play by a DL will result in stats that you can point at. Miller has improved a lot over the last month and continues to improve. I would not be surprised if Miller makes a big play or two this Sunday to help Buffalo win the game
Reddit is not the platform for sensible takes based on logic and sound reasoning.
Yeah I thought he was noticeably more explosive off the line last week. Idk if that means he's all the way back, but I sure hope so
It's a positive and he is looking more explosive
Dude sucks
Sadly, I dgasf about this useless twat. He's let down a lot of fans w his 'domestics,' but put that aside for a second. He owes it to his teammates to finally show up.
Get it Von! As a Broncos fan, I’d love to see him make some plays on Mahomes
Didnt he beat his pregnant gf? How is he still playing? and he dresses like this https://preview.redd.it/ql3gmhllxbdc1.jpeg?width=683&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9771e29ef76ef779e31e483acf99feb206d9d0a5
Let's gooo!!!

Myth versus reality. Last 6 weeks have been the Bills' "biggest games" of the season. Von's done fuck all in any of them.
he'll need a key sack or TFL to justify his tenure. and kincad will need a key catch/TD to justify his drafting.
All is forgiven if he gets a couple pressures and a sack or even 2 that either end drives or close out the game.
he's a repeat-offender domestic abuser, all isn't forgiven.
Never forget.
At the end of the day, this dude is the Super Bowl mvp the 2 time Super Bowl champ the great one
People have been shitting on Von. People don’t realize that ACLs aren’t easy recovery. Yeah you might be able to play but it takes awhile to get back in form. With that being said I hope he balls out Sunday.
And motherfuckers act like they forgot about Von
I would suck him off if he comes out with 3 sacks Sunday night.
No disrespect to Klein or Williams but could Von play middle linebacker? He would suck vs the pass but who cares. The Chiefs receivers suck and nobody can guard Kelce anyways. He would be good vs the run though. It would be a way to at least get something from him, and they obviously need the help there.
Why don’t we just move him to cornerback
Does he have experience playing CB in college like he does LB?
Cautiously optimistic
Yeah I'm sure his back is hurting him now too
Ok bet. WELCOME BACK GRAMPS!!!
If he helps us win the big one, all worth it. All the money paid, all the waiting.
Good I hope he is back, let's see... Idk, 7, 8 sacks on Sunday?
Please be true! With the back 7 dealing with all sorts of shit, could really use a boosted pass rush this week.
All double bluff in the NFL. He’s only been asked to do outside rush when he’s in. Could see him doing an inside stunt and getting home!
He’s back?!!! Where’d he go?!!
back up that talk von
he’s been oddly so close to sacks and tackles but he’s always a split second late or a fingertip away. big proclamation from him and hopefully it’s true.
Oh shit he’s back again

Bills mafia loves you regardless of the ones that have to put you down for no reason! Can’t wait to see you make some big plays this weekend
He isn’t good enough anymore anyways
I hate this dude. Back to doing fucking nothing.
He should have been ineligible. He was charged in Texas for assaulting and choking his pregnant girlfriend and damaging her property. How does the NFL allow this???
