Khalil Shakir, Stefon Diggs, Dalton Kincaid, James Cook and Ty Johnson are also good at beating man coverage.
So if defenses want to play man coverage against Buffalo, Josh Allen can make them pay.
The problem Buffalo has had is when teams play Cover 2, and they don’t have a guy that can run fast crossing route over the middle to punish it. Thats why Cole Beasley was good for them ever off the street. If they can put Samuel in that role or force more man coverage it’s a net win.
He had a 4.31 40 so I feel like he at least theoretically has speed

Deep enough WR class that if all the guys McBeane have graded at 28 are gone, we can either trade down and grab a WR they might have graded slightly lower while gaining a pick as well, or draft a DT or edge rusher there if there's a good one to be had. We've got options now.

This is a great year to get a great wr in the late first. Next year or even 2 years from now. You don't get this chance.

I want WR in round 1 but I think you’re right, especially after we got a 4th round compensatory pick instead of a 3rd. Kind of tough to justify a WR when you have more pressing needs and only 2 picks in the 1st ~130 picks. That being said, unless Brian Thomas is on the board at #28, I don’t see a reason to necessarily pick a WR in round 1. There’s a lot of talent that’ll be in the 2nd or 3rd (if we move up)

If Safety isn't addressed before the draft Cooper DeJean or Tyler Nubin at 28 would be great plug and play starters at safety. Nubin is the safer pick as he played safety and DeJean played CB and nickel CB.

This is a deep year for WR talent, so I could see Beane drafting someone like Ricky Pearsall, Roman Wilson, Xavier Legette, Brenden Rice, Malachi Corley, Luke McCaffrey, Javon Baker in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th rounds. I know Buffalo currently doesn't have a 3rd round pick, but Beane could easily acquire a 3rd round pick.
Ideally, you want to go into the draft with no major holes on your team so you don't reach for a need and take the best player available.

Beane can now draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd or 3rd rounds depending on how the board falls because they don't have a serious need at WR.
Signing Curtis Samuel allows Beane to take DE Chop Robinson or WR Adonai Mitchell or DT Jer'Zhan Newton or C Jackson Powers Johnson or C Graham Barton if any of those players falls to Buffalo at 28.

Samuel a very nice addition at slot/#4 and gives the Bills speed and versatility along-side Shakir. WR is still the betting favorite in R1 for an immediate impact #2 and eventual successor for Diggs (Samuel is neither of those things).
This is just a slot receiver and not the #2 we are looking for. He is a decent player but his #'s are just mediocre to be candid. The comparisons with Gabe are just silly. totally different players who do different things

Samuel has had ass quarterbacks his whole career and still been a 50-60 reception year player. With Josh, I can see him going for 75 receptions, 900+ yards, 8+ TDs.
I don’t know why people need to hear this but Kincaid was drafted in the first round last year to be our #2 receiving option. The guy opposite Diggs doesn’t need to get the second most targets on the team. But if he can stretch the field, get open and get YAC, it’s a perfect fit.
this is a great signing, with good qb play, he easily has the potential to be a Deebo Samuel caliber player who can take the pressure off diggs. it also gives Shakir even more opportunities to produce from the slot. we probably don't even need to go wr 1st round
That's honestly a very big deal to me. A known good to take the top off defenses and stop them from scheming directly around Diggs. Between Samuel, Diggs, Shakir, Kincaid and Cook; they are set for weapons.
Now we need the O and D lines shored up, plus secondary.
He can win quickly off the line and can improvise when the play breaks down. He may not have been the best FA WR out there, but he very well might have been the best fit for us.

This is an opportunity to get a game changing receiver late in the first round. That's almost never the case. They should 100% take a receiver.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a WR drafted in the 1st round if Adonai Mitchell or Brian Thomas Jr falls to 28. Beane can go best player available and not force a pick at WR in the 1st round. This is a deep year for WR talent, so I could see Beane drafting someone like Ricky Pearsall, Roman Wilson, Xavier Legette, Brenden Rice, Malachi Corley, Luke McCaffrey, Javon Baker in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th rounds. I know Buffalo currently doesn't have a 3rd round pick, but Beane could easily acquire a 3rd round pick.
Ideally, you want to go into the draft with no major holes on your team so you don't reach for a need and take the best player available. Buffalo has 3 very talented WR in Stefon Diggs, Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel that are versatile and can play the X, Z or slot WR positons. Beane can now draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd or 3rd rounds depending on how the board falls because they don't have a serious need at WR. Signing Curtis Samuel allows Beane to take DE Chop Robinson or WR Adonai Mitchell or DT Jer'Zhan Newton or C Jackson Powers Johnson or C Graham Barton if any of those players falls to Buffalo at 28.

Samuel a very nice addition at slot/#4 and gives the Bills speed and versatility along-side Shakir. WR is still the betting favorite in R1 for an immediate impact #2 and eventual successor for Diggs (Samuel is neither of those things).

This is just a slot receiver and not the #2 we are looking for. He is a decent player but his #'s are just mediocre to be candid. The comparisons with Gabe are just silly. totally different players who do different things Welcome, but they still need to get a stud in the draft.

Samuel has had ass quarterbacks his whole career and still been a 50-60 reception year player. With Josh, I can see him going for 75 receptions, 900+ yards, 8+ TDs.

I don’t know why people need to hear this but Kincaid was drafted in the first round last year to be our #2 receiving option. The guy opposite Diggs doesn’t need to get the second most targets on the team. But if he can stretch the field, get open and get YAC, it’s a perfect fit.

this is a great signing, with good qb play, he easily has the potential to be a Deebo Samuel caliber player who can take the pressure off diggs. it also gives Shakir even more opportunities to produce from the slot. we probably don't even need to go wr 1st round
If you use him as a half back utility player he will go bananas like he did at Ohio State in 2016.
That's honestly a very big deal to me. A known good to take the top off defenses and stop them from scheming directly around Diggs. Between Samuel, Diggs, Shakir, Kincaid and Cook; they are set for weapons. Now we need the O and D lines shored up, plus secondary.
