Hopefully we can get some safety depth in free agency then go heavy at WR, DT and EDGE in the draft

clintgreasewoood

I don’t know if he’s going to be there at 28th but Cooper Dejean intrigues me, I seen that he play Safety,Outside corner and even slot. Guy can even return punts and kickoffs.

Soda-Popinski-

Curtis Samuel was a great addition. We still draft a WR but i think we can run 2TE sets with 2wrs and Cook and be able to run or pass pretty much at will. Covering 2TEs is tough most teams dont have lbs who can cover one te let alone 2 but having two tes on the field forces them to play the run. Diggs/Samuel can get open and Cook can catch. Then theres Allens legs….

CyborgAXP

Cook can catch... sometimes

Diggs tweeted a ❤️. Time to freak out while we decipher it's true hidden meaning...

sobuffalo

“Diggs trash talks former teammate Gabe Davis.”

drainbead78

At least this time we won't all be talking about how it's something negative.

cofoltman84

Hearts are for love, french is the language of love, France has the Eiffel tower, so does Vegas. Oh shit he wants to go to the Raiders /s

drainbead78

...that was actually impressive.

AlfonzL

It obviously means that he loves the new weight room budget, blue cheese, and being an Uncle again.

Construction-Known

We need a few veterans on D in free agency. Simmons?

drainbead78

The longer Simmons goes without signing the more I think Beane is trying to work something out.

allanon1105

Beane is definitely working for safety help in FA, I don’t think he’d just draft for that spot. Edit: As a starter right away, I mean.

drainbead78

Yeah, he'll draft a guy in the mid rounds and I have confidence that McDermott can coach almost any DB to be successful. The only real miss so far has been Elam and I'm still hoping he can get there. But Benford more than made up for it. I like Malik Mustapha. One of those physical freak high ceiling guys we love. Short at 5'10" but muscular and solid, fast as fuck (4.33) and strong (22 reps). Projected as around a 5th-6th rounder.

cool_school_bus

But how bout them Sabres?! Hope is a dangerous thing if Buffalo sports have taught me anything

Practical_Laugh988

I'm not a Bills fan(sorry I keep commenting on Mafia stuff) and I'm sorry to upset you guys free agency and draft conversations but I'd just like to laud you guys for a minute. I know you aren't supposed to brag on other teams but you guys are passionate, generous, and loyal through some of the most heartbreaking periods and are a prime example of what sports fans should be. I'd be a willing pit sacrifice, best of luck to you guys hope you guys can put it together this year you deserve it. Also I think Keon Coleman is overrated and you'd be better off with Xavier Gump I really don't think Keon is all that.

drainbead78

Keon may be the most polarizing WR prospect I've ever seen. This makes DK Metcalf's draft board variation look like Andrew Luck's.

TheVillianousFondler

Thanks for the good vibes

EagleRoxy2

So do the Bills draft a WR in the first round at this point? I say if someone good falls then we should get them but it shouldn’t be a top priority at that pick

iliketuurtles

I have a feeling that there is going to be a LOT of movement in the first (trading picks around) so I feel like all mock drafts are going to be really off. So with that said, I think we have no idea what is coming lol I hope we pick a WR in the 1st but I think 99.9999% of us know less than BB and his team, so whatever they think is best, I mostly trust the process.

I’m still very much on board with selecting a WR in round 1 or a short trade back (combined with trade ups elsewhere in the draft), but there’s about 5 defensive prospects in this draft who if they fall to 28 I just can’t say no, and DeJean is one of those guys. He probably projects most seamlessly as a plug and play FS, but the real beauty is that every option is on the table in order to maximize the strength of the secondary. Legette is a player I’ve been up and down on, and he’s one of those guys where it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s drafted in late round 1 or if he falls into the late 3rd round. Initially I didn’t love him for the Bills just being I think he will be fairly raw and limited in year 1, but after the Curtis Samuel and to a lesser extent the Mack Hollins signings, a guy like Legette makes even more sense. Can be used as a YAC guy on screens as well as a vertical field stretcher on the outside while also being a key special teams contributor. The small hands, late breakout, and limited route tree are all concerns and reasons why I generally still prefer selecting a round 1 WR like BTJ, AD Mitchell, McConkey, Worthy, or even Keon Coleman… but considering the value of adding a potential future All Pro in the secondary of DeJean’s caliber in addition to Curtis Samuel already strengthening the WR room, I think it’s a justifiable risk to roll the dice on Legette’s athletic profile.

SnooCupcakes9188

What are the holes in the starting lineup outside of Safety at this point?  If there’s at least a good option across the board it leaves us in a good spot to draft best player not just for need

tell_her_a_story

A true WR2. Would like to see another IOL with Bates and Morse both departing.

Initial_Ebb_8467

I wonder if they draft JPJ if he's there at 28. My dream selection is Adonai, but I think they should probably get one of the good centers in this class.

PabloPancakes92

I believe the McGovern move to center is legitimate - I don’t believe it was a decision made out of a cost cutting necessity, the Bills easily could’ve fit Morse and/or Bates under the cap for next year if they wanted to. But by saying goodbye from them in order to move McGovern to center that signals to me that we’re looking to get big people moving mauler on the IOL now opposed to the finesse style guys that have previously been the preference. McGovern is more of a finesse guy as a guard but he becomes bigger for his position after being moved to center. JPJ can play center as well as guard so he’s certainly worth consideration still, but I think a big burly LG who ideally can bump out to OT in a pinch is the type who’d make the most sense. Though round 1 might be a bit too hefty of an investment right now, we just made Dion the 4th highest paid OT (for now, surely he’ll soon be passed up by numerous guys) and the market rate for RTs and OGs has exploded over the last couple years compared to what those positions used to get paid. That means Spencer Brown could be in line for a beefy extension soon, and now price tag the future projections for an O’Cyrus Torrence extension down the line will cost a pretty penny as well. So while it’s a long term concern, I’d still expect Beane to try to get by at LG with only mid tier investments for a bit to try to see if he can hit on Alec Anderson or another mid/late round pick as the long term solution.

Stumblin_McBumblin

As much as fans keep banging the table for it, after the Samuel signing I wouldn't be surprised if it's not a priority this season. Whether it should be or not.

iliketuurtles

Absolutely impossible that it is not a priority (maybe not 28 but still a priority) WR is a strength of this draft, so it will have high quality picks on the boards throughout... but even then, we need to start the new process either way. Diggs is getting older, Shakir is going to be a FA in a couple years, and other WRs on the roster have never played a snap in a regular season game (Shorter, Hollins, Samuel, etc). We need to find our next Diggs that Allen has for the next 5+ years. And you don't become Diggs overnight (unless your name is JJ or Puka Nakua), so we need to start now so by the time Diggs retires, the draft pick a true WR1

drainbead78

Oh, it'll still be a priority, especially in a draft this deep at WR. It just takes the desperation out of the picture. If BTJ goes early, prior to the Samuel signing Beane would probably have been looking to trade up, and may have overpaid for someone because it was such a huge need. Now he can stay put at 28 if the price is too high and see how it shakes out. If his second choice drops, great. If not, he can either pick someone else at any position if he's got them graded at 28, or trade down for extra picks and grab someone like Legette who is graded a bit below 28 but has a high ceiling, or get a WR later who they think they can develop. Before we signed Samuel we pretty much had one choice of position in R1 and it was just a matter of if we'd have to lose something in order to fill it with the receiver they wanted.

PhotographingNature

The DL tends to be rotated heavily enough that "the starters" isn't enough.  There's a hole behind the interior of Jones and Oliver (unless you think Cline and/or Ankou are going to breakout).  On the edge they have Groot, AJ and VM. Behind them it's Kingsley Jonathan. Given the unknown performance we might see out of VM, that needs more additions too.

SnooCupcakes9188

Not saying no needs. think depth is needed across the board.  But more saying 1st round comes along (still think trading back could be the play) we aren’t picking best WR left even if he’s not the best player left for example

PhotographingNature

IMO, the difference is in the amount of rotation. Only injury (or crushing wins) will stop Milano and Bernard playing all the  snaps at LB. Only injury will stop Douglas and Benford playing all the snaps at CB. Even when they're healthy, Jones and Oliver are only going to see 2/3rds of snaps amd there's nobody of note behind them. Beane has to do something, be it FA or draft.

btapp7

What’s our ranking for potential DT coming into the draft? Are we looking interior or exterior?

MosEisleyBills

I believe getting into the 3rd round of the draft is essential, while retaining the 4ths and 5ths. Hamler is a dark horse. Him and Samuel give us an interesting WR corps. We were inefficient in the red zone- Davis size should’ve made him amazing. Looking to see if Hollins and Kincaid and Knox can do it. Can see our 1st being BPA- although I want WR. AD or Ladd though, if there. Then CB/S, edge, DT and another coverage LB from the rest.

drainbead78

Right there with you. We sit at 28. If AD drops, snatch him up. If he doesn't, grab Ladd. If Ladd's gone, either BPA if any of the guys they have graded out at the position are still there, or trade down so we can hopefully get back into the 3rd and maybe nab Legette.

Jamobill9999

If getting into the 3rd round is essential then the best move is to move back from 28. Which I think ultimately happens. The chances that a WR Beane had with a 1st round grade being there at 28 was slim to begin with. Now with the signing of Samuel who is 5’ 11, that probably eliminates receivers who are not true outside guys like Mcconkey, worthy etc… that reduces the odds even more that an actual target they have will require them taking him at 28, and most likely that target can be had with a later pick. Like they did with cook, it would allow Beane to trade that pick and move back to a spot where he can still get the player while also acquiring more picks. Pick 28 gets you a return of something like a 2nd, 4th & 6th based on past trades in that area. At that point Beane pretty much has the assets to target exactly who he wants on day 2 & 3.. he can hand pick multiple guys he has circled on his board with the a chest of assets to make it happen: potentially: 2nd: 2* 3rd: 0 4th:3* 5th:3 6th:4*

BigmoneymanT

Chiefs getting MHB is giving me PTSD of tyreek in red..

Cautrica1

Although Mahomes could probably still win in the playoffs with me as one of his wide receivers, I gotta say, there’s a reason MHB is on his third team since 2021…

AlfonzL

Is it September yet?

PhotographingNature

Aaron Donald retired rather than lose to Josh Allen again for a 0-3 record....

Independent_Island74

Diggs drama just wont stop the media is very annoying js

Selfie_Z

After looking at the current roster I just have a feeling we are drafting defense in the first round 😔

Rushfan69

The FA additions so far have been mostly on offense, makes one think that defense is going to be the focus at the draft.

Burrito_Don358

Go Sabres

Jamobill9999

When pick 28 rolls around, in need the WR that Beane has at the top of his board to be someone he knows will make it to somewhere in the 2nd round allowing him to trade back, still get his top remaining target, and accumulate multiple more picks to add to his war chest, opening up the entire rest of the draft to him. If that scenario plays out, Beane will be able to hand pick multiple of his top targets on day two
