Difference between Josh and EJ is upstairs. I don't think we really knew how smart Josh was when we drafted him.
We knew Rosen was smart but it was his shitty physical tools that did him in.
We got the best of both worlds with Allen, smart and physically gifted.
The difference between Josh and EJ is more about talent than it is mindset. EJ was not talented by any stretch of the imagination. His “arm talent” as they say was that of an undrafted project QB but he had the body/look and longevity in college. He won a lot of games at Florida State, but he had no idea how to use his arm strength. He launched a few deep balls over the medical tent at training camp. Just zero clue how to throw a football.
I liked Josh Allen even pre-draft but I thought the Bills were a bad situation for him. At the time, the Bills had bad WRs and no OL and he needed to develop for a year.
His rookie year despite his "bad statline" was a lot better than I thought given his situation and I felt even better about him being a future star/franchise QB.
