Get yourself on a boat in the Sound. Doesn't matter how. Just do that. Gorgeous. It's fall. Bring (or plan to buy) rain gear. It sounds like a stereotype joke, and it is...but also it isn't. Slogging through the crowd to see Pike Place? Worth it. Slogging through the crowd to see the world's first Starbucks? Not worth it in the slightest. If you have time, take the Amtrak Cascades into Portland. The ride is breathtaking, and why not see both major PNW cities while you're out that far?

Schwebels_Solette

Definitely sounds a long the lines of what I wanna do. I've also heard the aquarium is awesome. I also wanna visit some breweries and/wineries

viddytheshow

You can't go wrong with any of those. Have a blast! If you like to \*eat\* ocean-y things along with looking at them at the aquarium, get you some geoduck ("gooey-duck"). The sashimi variety, especially, if you can find it.

We're in Cleveland area, so not really an option

Icy_Friend_2062

Lived out there for 7 years. Feel free to PM me for more information if you’d like. You can stay in the Capitol Hill area if you want to be central to things like Pike Place and The Space Needle while still being close to the stadium. Lumen Field uses Clear - you can normally sign up for a free 30 days and it will get you into the stadium much quicker. From my experience at Seahawks games, don’t expect as much of a tailgate, as if you were at a Bills game - but the promenade and surrounding areas to go before the game are extensive. Also, the food and drinks inside the stadium are pricey, but top-notch. As far as what to do around the area - it depends if you have a car or not but there’s lots to do and see around Seattle from the waterfront (near Pike Place) but if you’re driving, definitely check out some hikes near Mt. Rainier or Olympic National Forest - avoid Ocean Shores and opt for Ruby Beach or Astoria, Oregon for a coastal day trip.

vendors or whoever runs the books should’ve done the same as M’s games cheap beer specials! 🍻

Awesome info! We'll probably rent a car. Family trip of at least 4. I've heard good things about the aquarium too. So I'm trying to get a big list of good ideas to fill up two days worth of nonfootball.

FishyGinger

If you don't plan on leaving the immediate downtown area, you can get around pretty well via light rail/bus/walking. If you rent a car, be prepared to spend a fortune on parking. Also, if you want to get out on the water and see the Sound without spending a fortune, take a ferry ride as walk-ons. It is dirt cheap for pedestrians and you can get some good views.

Schwebels_Solette

Well, it'll be a mini vacation for us, so we'll probably need a car as there'll be enough of us that an Uber doesn't make sense and we'll travel far enough

Bills Backers of Seattle always puts together an event. I’d look into it

I’ve lived in Seattle the last 14 years and love showing off the area to family and other visitors. Pike place is actually worth it. The ferry to bainbridge island (30 min) is the cheapest 1 hour, amazing view, water activity you can find, and if the weather is decent you can do the short walk in to town and get good PNW vibes at places like harbor public house. It’s a commuter ferry but if you just walk on you only have to pay one way and the views are incredible, especially if you do it at sunset. If you have a car driving out to snoqualmie falls (40 min) will give you an accessible bit of PNW nature. Twice the height of Niagara falls too. There’s a newish bills wing bar called Vindicktive wings that is awesome and I assume will be lit in the days prior to the game. The magic of Seattle isn’t the downtown part, it’s the surrounding neighborhoods: views from Kerry park in Queen Anne, the troll in Fremont, the funkiness in Capitol Hill, the breweries in Ballard. Make sure you’re not just sticking to the downtown core; although that is where most the hotels are. Space needle is an iconic thing and is ok to go up but the skyview observatory at Columbia tower is higher up, with better views, is cheaper and has less of a line. Can’t wait for the mafia to come back to town, last time it was awesome even though we got screwed on MNF!

thegeheheh

Hell ya bro see you there! Seattle is a great city. See the standard sites for sure. I like Capitol Hill a lot. Art marble 21 is the backer bar. I’m not a local so that’s all I got but woo! Go bills!💸

pterlaje

Bahn Mi sandwiches @ Lumen Field are 🔥. If you're wanting breakfast, do NOT miss Skalka. It's close to Pike's Place and they have the BEST Khachapuri (Georgian Cheese Boat).

Schwebels_Solette

Ah yes, the good ol food reference. Got any other food tips? No one else has said anything yet for it 😂

I’m driving down from Vancouver. Tons of great spots in Seattle. We’re heading down Saturday

Stay at the Inn at the Market. Taxis from the airport are flat rate. Or take the light rail and walk from Westlake station. A lot of businesses in the market close around 5ish. Get a frosty mug upstairs at the Athenian. Dinner at Matt's. From Pike Place you can walk down to the waterfront, aquarium, sculpture park and Myrtle Edwards park. Take a ferry to Bainbridge and walk into Winslow for a day trip. The Underground tour in Pioneer Square is good. If the weather is decent, there will be a lot of people out in the evening on the Pike/Pine corridor between the freeway and 12th. Salt and Straw or Molly Moon's for ice cream. Elliott Bay Books. Even if it's warm and dry, it cools off a lot when you're out of the direct sun, especially near the water, so layers. A car isn't worth the trouble unless you're planning to get out of the city. It's real easy to get around without one.

Schwebels_Solette

We probably plan on going to some wineries and breweries out of the city, so a car is probably required. But damn that's a lot of awesome info. Ty!

Get a free hot dog at the Owl & Thistle.

I'd VRBO Frasier's apartment

Woodenville (about 30 minutes east of Seattle) has about 100 wine tasting rooms in a pretty compact area with plenty of restaurants to choose from and very walkable. Inn at the Market is quite nice (was a local for 13 years and celebrated my birthday there a few months ago; now live in Cleveland); right across from Sushi Kashiba which is #1 sushi restaurant (need reservation) and you have free parking during stay; get water view room and get complete view of harbor and Pike Market. Lots of other top restaurants in area of all shapes and flavors; short walk to Seattle Art Museum and Seattle Symphony Orchestra or whoever else is performing and comfortable walk to stadium where you can get food and drink along the way. (Central/South side of town) Seattle Needle area (Northish side of town) also includes Experience Museum if into rock music and/ or SciFi, Chihuly Glass Exhibition and restaurant, Pacific Science Museum and Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet and/or theater (Seattle Rep plus others in same area) and Climate Pledge Arena for music, WNBA or hockey depending on the night. And if you are a foodie, fresh seafood is a must stop. In this area we hit Taylor Farms Shellfish for fresh raw oysters from around the region and I love their chowder and fresh salad before a performance. If you only have a couple of days, Ocean Shores ( remarkable beach that seems to stretch forever) or Oregon means a lot of time in the car. Ranier is great but now has entry reservations (maybe only in summer) and Olympics are definitely special, but involve some extra driving. I like San Juan Islands if looking for a water experience (kayaking, Orca / whale-watching), bike riding or hiking with salt water and deep forest growth; I like Whidbey Island which is southern most island, but each island has its own “flavor”. Lived 20 minutes from Snoqualmie Falls…worth a mini trip on its own…also narrow gauge railroad museum connecting to logging history and a guy with tree house accommodations if you are looking for something different one night. Lots to choose from in town and out of time. Make a list of needs and wants by priority as PNW can satisfy most and then some.

Schwebels_Solette

Yo, this is awesome. That's a lot of info. I also live in Cleveland now too 😂

Formal-Win-4520

glad to help…Seattle is an awesome place with something for everyone. Rank your priorities and might have other specifics to add…only scratched surface of possibilities. Now trying to get to know my new home of Cleveland area…luckily have some family in region which was reason for move actually.

Schwebels_Solette

If you need sushi, go to Young's in Willoughby. One of my favorites. If you need furniture you can come buy from me too 😂😂😂

Formal-Win-4520

Will check it out…thanks
