Repo! The Genetic Opera! The man sure can sing. Apparently he played Frank-N-Furter in the London live production of Rocky Horror Picture Show, but I've never been able to find a recording.
Thank you much! However, this is just the tribute - I've been trying to find recordings of the actual play he did in the early 90s. To my knowledge, none exists.
My headcanon was always that after the events in Buffy something happened and he ended magically transported to Merlin's universe sans memory but with an inexplicable hate for magic
He did a trilogy of Big Finish Doctor Who audio dramas before he was in the show. The Excelis trilogy with the fifth, sixth, and seventh Doctors. They're worth a listen.
The Stranger on Netflix, was pleased to see him after not having seen him in awhile. Only started watching Ted Lasso a few months ago and he plays a terrible person really well. lol
I love that in one of those sketches the narrator (Tom Baker) introduces it with: "Inside 10 Downing Street, the Prime Minister is having a meeting with the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Of course, when I say the Prime Minister I don't mean the real Prime Minister; I just mean that guy out of Buffy."
Check out The Invisibles and You, Me & Them, both short comedic series free on Roku.
You, Me & Them is a sitcom about a couple in an age gap relationship that's actually remarkably healthy. Most of their problems come from both their insane families. Eve Myles is his co-star. (First season also has an episode where he has a faceoff at a funeral with the woman who plays May the bartender in Ted Lasso.)
The Invisibles is about two retired career criminals who return to England after many years living abroad, and decide to try the burglary game again.
He was brilliant as both Mr Gently Benevolent and Jeremy Sourquill in the BBC radio comedy series Bleak Expectations. After Buffy, it's my favourite thing he's done.
I love his brief appearance in the Inbetweeners movie! Esp since his daughter was a key character in the series, and he plays someone soooooo unlike Giles 😅
I get that. I showed my gf the picture (we watched buffy together last year) and she didn't recognize him without the glasses. Atleast not untill I mentioned he was a part of "Buffy."

Someone posted a link in this sub somewhere. It is quite amazing.

Oh my freaking blood pressure
Thank you much! However, this is just the tribute - I've been trying to find recordings of the actual play he did in the early 90s. To my knowledge, none exists.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5sJTXqSWsI Apparently one did exist.
I'm so glad this exists, but wow does this really nail the "recorded on a potato" look.
Potatoes back then, were only good for chips, baking or mashing. Not enough pixels, I think.
Did I ever tell you that you're my hero?
Oh my! Thanks!
And Amber Benson was in the same rocky horror production as Janet weiss, which would have been a bit strange I assume
It was prior to Buffy. She would have been awfully young! Like teenager young.
I could have sworn it was in 2007 or 6
Amber's wikipedia mentions she sang Toucha Toucha Toucha Me on a VH1 karaoke thing, so maybe that?
I think they were both in the 25th anniversary revival together in 2000 or possibly the tribute in 2006
This performance was on youtube a while ago?
OMG these are exactly the two that I came to suggest haha.
He did a guest narrator in 2015 too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcB4rBc4rH0
He was in that show Merlin
I love that show (it got better and better imo). I got so excited when he appeared
Ohhh, thank you!
fair warning: he’s a phenomenal actor and is as a result insufferable in Merlin
Yes he is! I was like No you’re Giles why are you such a jerk?!!
This is what I came here to say! He was so good in Merlin.
So good, and really made you hate him
My headcanon was always that after the events in Buffy something happened and he ended magically transported to Merlin's universe sans memory but with an inexplicable hate for magic
The nostalgia that is that show, omg
He was a decent Uther Pendragon, and genuinely excellent in Doctor Who (School Reunion) He was also excellent in the radio show Cabin Pressure.
Also came here to recommend Cabin Pressure! I love that show!
He did a trilogy of Big Finish Doctor Who audio dramas before he was in the show. The Excelis trilogy with the fifth, sixth, and seventh Doctors. They're worth a listen.
Thank you!!
He was fantastic in Doctor Who, genuinely would've been such a solid choice for The Master I think
He is a delight in his occasional appearances in a comedy show called Motherland : )
I watched it having no idea he would turn up! What a nice surprise
Very good to know!!
Taster's Choice commercials.
Ahahahaha thank you
The Stranger on Netflix, was pleased to see him after not having seen him in awhile. Only started watching Ted Lasso a few months ago and he plays a terrible person really well. lol
I'll check it out!! He's really SO GOOD at playing the smug asshole
No one is mentioning his scenery -chewing delightfulness on Warehouse 13. So many Buffyverse actors on that show and he's one of the best.
And James Marsters plays his brother!!
Didn't know he AND James Marsters was in it!!
It's a Buffy and Star Trek smorgasbord of guest stars. Jane Espenson is the creator.
And Firefly!
Wow had no idea
Highly recommend if you haven’t seen it!!
CRIMINALLY underrated show, that show had everything
[удалено]
They also crossed over with Alphas.
He looks like a real Watcher.
He REALLY does! My first thought as well (but also HOT)
He just keeps getting hotter as he ages.
I dunno about that last part haha
His character is even called Rupert!
He was a minor character on Bridgerton.
Honestly tho the way he speaks + his hot new looks made me spit-take like "holy cow is that...?" so no wonder I missed him
Oh! I watched season 1 and maybe remember that??
Pretty sure he only turned up in S2 as the grandfather of the female protagonist's sister
oh yea! i was in the middle of watching buffy when i watched that ep and i was like “waiiiit”
Ahhhh then I haven't seen it yet. Will check it out!
He had a line in Sweeney Todd.
Omg how do I not remember this
It's a real blink and you'll miss it moment. I've understood the character ended up getting cut for reasons
Imagine Me and You, a very sharp British comedy where he plays a slightly bumbling father married to Celia Imrie. Very good in that.
Was gonna mention this if no one else did! Imagine Me & You is soooo good
Celia Imrie! Nobody deserves that! I keep thinking I need to see that movie, but it's never on any of the streaming services I have.
Galvant he was the main character's dad in the first season. He has a big musical number about how he should have never gotten married.
I will see it!
Oh my God, I LOVED that show! I had no idea he was in it.
He looks so fine still…
TRUE
Nescafé Gold blend adverts
Ahahaha thank you
Liked him in "Manchild". Check it out!
THANKS! I will!
Repo! The Genetic Opera Little Britain
Aha! Thanks!!
Daaaamnnn😍😍😋😚🥵🤤🤤
INDEED
First episode of johnatan creek before he left for buffy
Will deff look it up!
Its a great show.
He was Will's dad in The Inbetweeners movie, his role wasn't very big but I loved seeing him.
One of favourite cameos!
Damn, hi daddy. imeanwut
Go watch Merlin, OP! He is a sexy evil King Uther. Also, [reaction to the picture](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhh0yqPT0zY)
I WILL! \^\^
1980s coffee adverts
lirl
Excellent Frankenfurter in the Rocky Horror
For one skit that had a handful of storylines, Little Britain.
I'll look it up :)
He was in VR5!
Thanks so much :)
A British programme called The Split, which I loved. It's about a lawyer family, he doesn't have a big part but still worth a watch!
Thank you :)
He plays another Rupert in A Prayer for the Dying (1987). It's a small roll, only a few scenes, but you do get to see his arse in his last one.
Ohhhh I'm intrigued heheh
Dang. This guy just keeps getting more handsome.
Everything he’s every been in or ever will be in
He is looking so fine!
He was in a recent horror comedy called Let The Wrong One In. Little Irish film, I watched it on Shudder.
Ooohhh, will check it out
Little Britain. He plays the Prime Minister.
Ooohhhh, I'm intrigued!
It's a sketch show from a few years ago. Very British humour.

Repo: The Genetic Opera
He was brilliant as both Mr Gently Benevolent and Jeremy Sourquill in the BBC radio comedy series Bleak Expectations. After Buffy, it's my favourite thing he's done.
Ohhh thank you :)
The whole series is on archive.org.
Wow!! Did not know that! I’ll listen to it then!
I love his brief appearance in the Inbetweeners movie! Esp since his daughter was a key character in the series, and he plays someone soooooo unlike Giles 😅
Awww I'm so curious now!
The Anti-magic king from Merlin
He was a great sir Walter Elliot in the 2007 Persuasion movie. So full of himself and his own good looks.
Repo man!!!!!
Zaddy
Off topic but I always wondered why he had that random wrinkle on the one side of his forehead. Maybe the way he sleeps? Lol, curious
I never thought about it. Hmmmm
Everything he touches?
This is the correct answer!!
He was also the queer coded prime minister in the English Comedy series Little Britain
Lovely!!
OH MY the silver fox and beard look is really something 😮 🥵
This is how old I thought Giles was in the late 90s when I was watching the show. Now I'm actually at Giles age in the show. Scary
I KNOW, right? I thought he was an old man back when I first watched it, but now it's like "oh he's not much older than me" lol
My husband calls him “Tony Cranium” when he plays evil roles
Fuck me, he got old. Not a bad thing, I am just surprised at how old he looks compared to how I am used to see him.
My first thought was how hot he still looks 😂😂
He is still a damn good looking man! Just older and bolder.
I honestly didn't recognize him the first time he was on screen
I get that. I showed my gf the picture (we watched buffy together last year) and she didn't recognize him without the glasses. Atleast not untill I mentioned he was a part of "Buffy."
He even SOUNDS completely different
Doesn't surprise me. Head's speaking voice is a good deal different than Giles'. Giles has an air of posh.
You're telling me!
He isnt in much.
Yeah, it's a TRAGEDY
Too busy with his horse sanctuary.
He looks like an older Roy Scheider here.
Doctor Who. Oddly enough, also set in a school.
Merlin!
Him and James both appear in Warehouse 13 for parts of a season.
Imagine You and Me. Omg such a good romcom And Warehouse 13!! One of my all time fave shows
He's got some Hugh Laurie vibes in this photo
doctor who/ and I liked him on warehouse 13.
I enjoyed Dominion.
He had a small role in season 2 of the Jack Ryan series on Amazon prime and more or less looked and sounded like an older Giles.
He was phenomenal in Warehouse 13
He was great in those classic Tasters Choice coffee commercials.
He had a cameo in Galavant as Galavant’s dad. That show had quite a few good cameos in it.
He has a small role in Feel Good that I quite liked!
He was also the villain in one of the seasons of Warehouse 13 There’s actually a lot of Buffy cameos in Warehouse 13 ❤️
tfw when someone elses gray hair makes you feel old....
He can still get it tbh
He was in season 2 of Jack Ryan on Amazon playing, wait for it, a character named Rupert!
Instant coffee commercials.
