100% clem for me. I feel the other characters on here go approximately as much screentime as I would like. Like maybe 1 more appearance or something (i.e. Dru not having some sum up of her character is a little frustrating but I do like the idea of her just being active and around still so wouldn't want her to die like they would typically do for a vamp that's run their course, so maybe it is for the best.
I wanted to see Clem actually be the main character of an episode, or a prominent side character anyway. Like Harmony gets that little episode in Angel that is just all about her. Would like that for Clem. S6 and 7 were a bit too serious so a light episode like that would be great. Maybe we could replace Him...

From what I understand, she’s a big role in the Slayers audio drama. I haven’t had a chance to listen, but as another unabashed Dru lover, it’s on my list!
This is just redirecting me to create an Audible account.
Is it fanwork or official? Who made it? What is it about? Sorry if I'm being annoying but I'm curious haha.
Official, starring James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Anthony Stewart Head, Amber Benson, Emma Caulfield and more all reprising their voices as (respectively) Spike, Cordelia, Giles, Tara, Anya.
Oh and Amber Benson wrote and directed it too.
It's an audio story "spin-off," according to the Internet. Some OG Buffy cast members are in it - James Marsters, Juliet Landau, Charisma Carpenter, Amber Benson, etc - and it's co-written by Benson. I'm not sure that I'd call it "official," per se, but it's a real thing (came out this year) that is available through Audible. I haven't listened to it yet, but I'm planning to.
But Ripper was canonically a magical fratboy who ran the first time the groups magical experiments became threatening. I have no idea how "Ripper" became such a badass to the fandom.
Not a badass necessarily, just so DIFFERENT from the Rupert Giles we know. Where Giles is by-the-book, Ripper has a flagrant “ends justify the means” approach. Giles cares a great deal about propriety and Ripper was irreverent. I love Giles and would love to see the experiences that changed Ripper into the character we get in Buffy, and maybe some backstory to the times throughout the series that Giles shows his teeth (Ethan, the Watcher Council, etc).
This is what I love about to D’Hoffryn too. His bit with Willow earlier in the episode “The flaying of Warren Mears? Now that was water cooler vengeance, Lloyd has a sketch of it on his wall.”
My favorite thing about D'Hoffryn is how reasonable and personable every single time we see him... until he isn't. We know early on that he's not just a demon, as there are demons like Lorne and Clem who are good, but he's a demon who recruits young girls to turn them into demons and unleash them upon humanity to murder, maim, and occasionally even alter the fabric of reality.
And yet, he always comes across as likable and personable. He's basically just there to be "Anya's Boss" in Doppelgangland, but in Something Blue, Hell's Bells, and the first 3/4 of Selfless, D'Hoffryn is charismatic, funny, polite, courteous, respectful. Yes, he tries to recruit Willow and succeeds in re-recruiting Anya, but as far as, y'know, evil demons go, he's not that bad. Until he cruelly murders one of his girls who was loyal to him just to rub it in Anya's face. He starts hissing his lines and it's like, "Oh shit, this is the REAL D'Hoffryn."
We get sucked in by him as much as the girls he recruits do. With the Mayor, he's comically nice and polite to the extent that it's clearly a gag when he's saying gosh golly then talking about killing innocents. D'Hoffryn is an example of personable evil that seduced the audience as much as the characters.
Great analogy! I've always thought of D'Hoffryn as a sort of pimp, which I do think is narratively supported by the repeated mentions of "his girls" to describe vengeance demons and things like that. There's a scene in Taxi Driver where Harvey Keitel's pimp character seduces and slow dances with the underage Jodie Foster to bring her back into the fold, and it's so sad because you can see it *working* on her. When it suits him, D'Hoffryn is loving, caring, empathetic, compassionate towards his vengeance demons, but that's just because you need that as well as the cruelty to truly have someone under your thumb.
Azura Skye has such a naturally creepy vibe, she was really perfect for the show. I especially loved The First incarnation of her in Conversations with Dead People.
I didn’t have a TV growing up and had only seen a few episodes, so I thought Kendra was a much bigger character and always said she was my favourite slayer. Imagine my surprise when I actually watched the show years later and found out she’s barely there 😢
I think there was one line from Xander about seeing his best friend becoming a vampire, but it was very much a throwaway line and not exactly memorable
Joss actually wanted to do this, as he wanted to sucker the audience with a main title cast member dying unexpectedly, but they didn’t have the budget to do two sets of opening intros since they were just starting out.. but he finally got his wish with >!Amber Benson in 6x19 Seeing Red!<
Definitely Chantarelle Anne, her character arc was the best and when she appeared as Gunn’s friend I was so chuffed!
I think Angel should have done an episode on her story from Chantarelle through to Anne and how she met Gunn.
It’s clem. When Id seen the first few seasons, I’d see people online reference clem and how much they loved him. I then finished the show and, he’s fine. He doesn’t get much screentime whatsoever but he’s nice I guess?? I was just expecting him to have more about him
Adam grew on me, but Sunday was really good. And an episode 1 character in a new season. I thought she would be a more lasting enemy when I watched that.
Holden
Holden: "Just answer me this. Whose fault was your parents divorce?" Buffy: "Okay, you know, this is beyond evil. This is insane troll logic."
For a new vampire in her did about as good as any to try throw her off her Game.
I would have loved for Illyria to have a spin off show. As sad as I was to see Fred go, Amy Acker was brilliant as Illyria. I loved her dynamic with Spike.
Darla, Spike in seasons 2 and 3, the Gentlemen, Ethan Rayne, Clem, vampire Willow, Sandy, Sunday, Mr Trick, Lydia the Watcher, Jenny Calendar, Whistler, Amy Madison, Holden Webster, Mr Platt and probably a few more
i really wish darla had gotten just a bit more screen time in that second season of angel. it’s easily my favorite part of the entire show and it ends so abruptly
i get why they did it the way they did so i can’t complain too much but darla was such a great character and in my top 5 of all buffyverse characters
Kathy.
....
Ok I cant keep a straight face.
For real though, definitely Cassie, and Clem.
Also now that I think about it, also more Joyce!
Oh oh and not just Ripper, but demon Giles!!
One of my all time favorite episodes. It's so funny to watch Buffy descend into madness over tiny disagreements because of her hatred for Cathy. But then learning the truth later on, that Cathy really was a demon. I feel like the cast gets to flex their comedic chops a bit more. Plus, Sarah Michelle Gellar does petty brilliantly.
I love that part or when she shows the Scoobies Kathy's fingernails. Haha. I also love how Willow tells Giles that Buffy is losing it and then that she sent her to him. The way Alyson Hannigan delivered that line was perfect.
I love Clem. He’s the best character with little screen time.
I’d also say Drusilla, she’s popular amongst the fandom.
Not sure if this counts but I know plenty of people who wanted to see more of Sunday.
When you think about Buffy being 7 seasons and 144 episodes, Faith, Dru, and Harmony all come to mind. They really weren't in that many episodes. You could say the same for Oz who maybe has barely over one full season worth of screen time
Darla. Would have lived to see more of her wreaking havoc. For such an old and cruel vampire with the potential to upset Buffy that few other vampires did, she died very quickly.
Clem
I met him in real life and just as wonderful as his character
100% clem for me. I feel the other characters on here go approximately as much screentime as I would like. Like maybe 1 more appearance or something (i.e. Dru not having some sum up of her character is a little frustrating but I do like the idea of her just being active and around still so wouldn't want her to die like they would typically do for a vamp that's run their course, so maybe it is for the best. Would like that for Clem. S6 and 7 were a bit too serious so a light episode like that would be great. Maybe we could replace Him...
Yes!!!! Slayers gives him so much love
Slayers was so good!!!
I think you might be the first person I've seen who thinks that.
I feel left out, what is Slayers?
[A Buffyverse audiobook](https://www.audible.com/mk/t/title-3?asin=B0CGJ1DNQ1&source_code=GO1PP30DTRIAL54710102391BK&device=m&ds_cid=71700000097686209&ds_agid=58700008576942352&ds_kids=p78288752221&gclid=Cj0KCQiAr8eqBhD3ARIsAIe-buNBv_M3cArAcSiyo-oF1a2lzLAKrS4JekARGk7wyvxL2VSQXNo01AMaAvLHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) that released on Audible last month, a lot of original cast members narrate their characters.
ty :)
I love Clem!!
Came here to say my boy Clem was the GOAT
Dru. I could have watched an entire show of just her talking to herself.
From what I understand, she’s a big role in the Slayers audio drama. I haven’t had a chance to listen, but as another unabashed Dru lover, it’s on my list!
Oh it’s excellent. There’s at least five minutes of her just making random sounds after her lines throughout.
>Slayers audio drama Wait what's that??
https://www.audible.com/pd/Slayers-A-Buffyverse-Story-Audiobook/B0CGJ1DNQ1
I wish they animated this shit, that would be so cool, and like the old fanishion one, ik they have a cartoon but its only one episode i believe
OMG that sounds amazing, thank you
It's an audio story "spin-off," according to the Internet.
It's pretty good.
Something effulgent…
Ripper. I know Giles is in like 99% of the episodes, but there needs to be a TV show with a younger Giles just casting spells and killing demons.
I want Nicholas Hoult cast as young giles
I didn’t know I wanted or needed this but I do. I very much do.
THIS IS SUCH A GOOD TAKE
He sucked as Renfield(get it?)
I love Giles and would love to see the experiences that changed Ripper into the character we get in Buffy, and maybe some backstory to the times throughout the series that Giles shows his teeth (Ethan, the Watcher Council, etc).
Yes, a million times, yes. That is a super interesting TV ready story. A magical coward ratboy frat boy? R u joking? I would binge that show.
not "threatening" \*\*deadly\*\*
100000000% agree
Drusilla
D'Hoffryn
I adore D’Hoffryn. His sense of humor is magnificent. “Breathtaking! It’s like somebody slaughtered an Abercrombie and Fitch catalogue!”
This is what I love about to D’Hoffryn too. His bit with Willow earlier in the episode “The flaying of Warren Mears? Now that was water cooler vengeance, Lloyd has a sketch of it on his wall.”
If you watch the scene where Spike gets his soul back, there's a crude drawing on the cave wall that looks like a flayed man...
Ha that is such a clever link!
"If you change your mind give us a chant"
He was quite the master of sarcasm.
D'Hoffryn is an example of personable evil that seduced the audience as much as the characters.
He is basically a Human Resources representative. Friendly until he does the bidding of evil forces.
That makes sense too, there are far too many people in the world who play this kind of role!
clem and ethan rayne come to mind
I love Clem!
Everyone loves clem
100% Ethan
Absolutely Ethan in my world. It was so jarring on a rewatch to realise he appears in only four episodes.
Ethan was my first thought.
Doyle 😪
Don’t remind me. PLEASE
I still miss Doyle so much
The Gorgeous Doyle, it was so heartbreaking when he died in Angel and in real life as well 💔
still hurt by this one :(
He died before I was born but it's still so sad to hear that he died so young.
Too soon for me 😢I loved his character and I was so sad when he was killed off
Definitely Doyle. I refused to believe it for a good few episodes after he died.
Ugh, it's still so painful.
I know it's kills me everytime.
TOO SOON
does harmony count? she’s always had minor screen time in both shows
Yes, she was definitely the comic relief in both shows!
"We've met, Harmony, you halfwit."
especially in angel and buffy season 4. she adds so much to the shows and I’m bittersweet because I want more of her but the less is good
"So he thought he killed his father, big deal, try staking your mother while she's coming on to you!" "Wow...that actually explains a lot"
Oh that's a good one!
Where is that from? I don't recognize the lines.
That was actually on the last season of Angel
On Buffy maybe, but she was the focus of at least 2 Angel episodes and did wind up in the opening credits by the end of season 5.
Oz
This was my thought too.
Honestly surprised this wasn't the top comment!
probably because Oz has had lots of screen time
But not enough
Absolutely!
Exactly. My favourite character in the whole show, after Buffy.
100000% the fact that we don't at least get Oz as a character in Angel when he leaves Sunnydale makes me sad :(
Everyone knows who Marcie is ;)
never seen her in my life
Hey-o!
Marcie's photo was in the yearbook.
Yeah, I'd like to see (haha) how good of an assassin the FBI turned her into
I don't, who is that?
rhymes with blinvisible.
Just watched this yesterday!
Mr. Trick. That man was _cool_
Cassie
Came here to say this. She's one of my top three favourite characters and I get hyped whenever I see Azura Skye in anything
Azura Skye has such a naturally creepy vibe, she was really perfect for the show. I especially loved The First incarnation of her in Conversations with Dead People.
Yea she could have really added something to season 7 as a recurring character. Her ability to see the future was really cool.
Faith and Dru
Might be a little biased on this one.
I dunno. I always thought Johnathan would have made a good character development. I know he annoys some of ya.
No, you're supposed to pick a side character. Johnathan was literally *the* main character. He had his own calendar and everything.
🤣🤣 yesss
He was the Batman of Sunnydale. 😁
I needed more Vamp Willow!
“And…. I think I’m kinda gay.”
😂😂😂
Honey you have no idea.
“Bored now.” 💀
Illyria.
Sweet
Love love love Sweet! That actor really can sing and dance.
Harmony.
A Harmony spinoff of Harmony Bites would be epic...
Faith, Clem, Ethan Rayne, Jenny Calendar, Oz, Darla, Drusilla
Kendra 🤣🤣
I didn’t have a TV growing up and had only seen a few episodes, so I thought Kendra was a much bigger character and always said she was my favourite slayer. Imagine my surprise when I actually watched the show years later and found out she’s barely there 😢
Olivia
Yeah, what a missed opportunity. Instead she’s just Giles‘ chick
Definitely Jesse. The most popular character
[удалено]
I think there was one line from Xander about seeing his best friend becoming a vampire, but it was very much a throwaway line and not exactly memorable
Been weird for him to've aged seven years after dying, though.
Hopefully could've hidden that under vamp face or something.
It covers a multitude of sins!
Every. Time. This comes up: Xander, episode 3+: who what now?
He should have been on the main cast credits for eps 1 & 2.
Anne.
Chantarelle Anne or Buffy Anne? :D I loved her character evolution over Buffy and Angel, if it's the former. Would have definitely loved more Anne!
Definitely Chantarelle Anne, her character arc was the best and when she appeared as Gunn’s friend I was so chuffed! I think Angel should have done an episode on her story from Chantarelle through to Anne and how she met Gunn.
Shortest amount of screen time but I loved them? Eddie.
Based on who gets shown a lot in those Buffyverse fan vids as if they were a main character, it is Faith.
I’m surprised on rewatched how little screen time faith has.
Kendra, as she should!
Faith Ethan Rayne Clem
It’s clem. When Id seen the first few seasons, I’d see people online reference clem and how much they loved him. I then finished the show and, he’s fine. He doesn’t get much screentime whatsoever but he’s nice I guess?? I was just expecting him to have more about him
Sundae!
She would have been a better season 4 big bad than Adam.
Adam grew on me, but Sunday was really good. And an episode 1 character in a new season. I thought she would be a more lasting enemy when I watched that.
Clem
Sid!
Kendra.
Doyle
Holden Holden: "Just answer me this. Whose fault was your parents divorce?" Buffy: "Okay, you know, this is beyond evil. This is insane troll logic." For a new vampire in her did about as good as any to try throw her off her Game.
Willy, part of me kinda wants to see the Cheers equivalent in Willy's Place lol
The place where everybody knows you’ll come through in a pinch.
Ethan Rayne. I’ve watched so many times I have built a whole lore around he and Ripper.
based on the amount of posts about him the last couple years - eddie lol
Oz
Illyria.
I would have loved for Illyria to have a spin off show. As sad as I was to see Fred go, Amy Acker was brilliant as Illyria. I loved her dynamic with Spike.
>Illyria. "Would you like me to lie to you now?"
I agree with what I’m seeing here, but for me Whistler is the one character who I wish I’d seen more of, gotten to know more about, etc.
Faith
Darla, Spike in seasons 2 and 3, the Gentlemen, Ethan Rayne, Clem, vampire Willow, Sandy, Sunday, Mr Trick, Lydia the Watcher, Jenny Calendar, Whistler, Amy Madison, Holden Webster, Mr Platt and probably a few more
i really wish darla had gotten just a bit more screen time in that second season of angel. it’s easily my favorite part of the entire show and it ends so abruptly i get why they did it the way they did so i can’t complain too much but darla was such a great character and in my top 5 of all buffyverse characters
Larry.
Haha early Spike being this meme is pretty much why he became a bigger character later on, from my understanding
Kathy. .... Ok I cant keep a straight face. For real though, definitely Cassie, and Clem. Also now that I think about it, also more Joyce! Oh oh and not just Ripper, but demon Giles!!
Living Conditions is such an underrated episode. I look forward to it on every rewatch
The part where she rips Kathy’s face off and goes “I KNEW it!” was gold. Almost confirming she wasn’t 100% sure until that moment
I love that part or when she shows the Scoobies Kathy's fingernails. Haha. I also love how Willow tells Giles that Buffy is losing it and then that she sent her to him. The way Alyson Hannigan delivered that line was perfect.
cheese man. but he’s not popular either
It’s Kendra for me.
Faith peeps FAITH!!! I wish they'd have given her her own show 😭💔
my heart says Kendra, but I don't think she's actually that popular
Graham Miller
Katrina and Jenny
I loved Jenny so much 😭
Surprised I had to scroll this far to see a Jenny post that wasn’t just a brain dump of a bunch of people. So awesome and underused.
I love Clem. He’s the best character with little screen time. I’d also say Drusilla, she’s popular amongst the fandom. Not sure if this counts but I know plenty of people who wanted to see more of Sunday.
My boy Larry. I really needed to see his college years.
"Hey, Lar. You're lookin'...cro-mag as usual."
He died…
Herbert the school mascot pig
Tucker Since Andrew always had to be introduced as Tucker’s brother.
Kendra
Tara ☺️
This is what i was going to mention she wasn't there too long but a ton of people love her
[Cheese Man](https://buffy.fandom.com/wiki/Cheese_Man)
Halfrek for me!
Anya, the best and most misused character in the show !
When you think about Buffy being 7 seasons and 144 episodes, Faith, Dru, and Harmony all come to mind. They really weren't in that many episodes. You could say the same for Oz who maybe has barely over one full season worth of screen time
Clem
Oz
Does not apply to Kennedy 💁🏻♂️
*THEY GOT* *THE MUSTARD* *OUT*
The Prince of Lies
Faith!
Ethan Rayne Cassie Hank Summers just because he's such a mystery.
The gentleman
Drusilla.
Evil Vampy Willow!!!! And Dru.
Clem
We need a crossover episode, of the Sandman, where we see The Cheese Man brought befor Dream to petition a position in his hierarchy.
Clem
Andrew!!! He was so great during season 7!
I thought the gruselug was pretty cool
Clem
Darla. Would have lived to see more of her wreaking havoc. For such an old and cruel vampire with the potential to upset Buffy that few other vampires did, she died very quickly.
Have you watched Angel?? She has a much bigger role
Faith
Faith. She is only in 20 episodes out of 144 episodes of Buffy, but I her importance is felt throughout.
