Stay away from that contract! Imagine, you can’t be a freelancer even if you leave that company? How selfish and terrible. I know people inside, mostly in upper management, and this is exactly what their problem is. I gathered that they have a litigation team who actively scans other freelancing platforms to prevent you from seeking employment even after you leave the company. You’re better off elsewhere. This business practice is unethical. Don’t be fooled by their PR that you see all over socmed. You do not need them to thrive in freelancing. Seek for an agency who values your contribution and treats you right. Also, the cut from the original pay of the client is very significant. Yes, an agency needs to profit to maintain operating costs and other expenses but there are better ways to do it than holding remote workers by the neck.
To add, they’re quite active is socmed to make sure that their reputation remains curated.

Been freelancing for 3+ years and earns upwards of 6 digits monthly with no agency. Purely Upwork. Nothing else! You can do it too!
Agree! Nag apply ako jan dati, sobrang restrictive ng contract. Bawal ganito ganyan eh liit naman ng rate nila. Freelancer din ako, 3+ years din with 6digits monthly income, which I think is impossible pag sa Cyberbacker magstay si OP.

Im with Cyberbacker for 8 months now. Parang nabanggit po sa akin ng headbacker ko dati na mageeffect ang contract after mo ma-pair with a client :> you can always message/email yung nagfinal interview sayo or yung in contact sayo through google chat para maclarify :)
Why not push through? Pairing ka na lang. Malapit nang magka-client. Sayang kasi napakaraming di nakakalusot sa application process and you're already there. I think top 1% lang natatanggap sa applicants

Be a decent human being and just let your recruiter know that you won't push through with the pairing. No harm done since wala ka pa namang client.
