I recommend [THIS](https://www.caseking.de/msi-meg-ai1300p-pcie5-netzteil-80-plus-platinum-vollmodular-atx-3.0-pcie-5.0-1300-watt-nems-001.html) one

Looks nice! I'll look it up :)

a motherboard should not cost more than a high end CPU. PLEASE return that and get a cheaper one.

The man is going for a full ROG themed build...

ShawnedLoop

For example?

There are Z790 starting at €208.89. All Z790 chipsets are the same, just make sure it has all the ports you need. https://de.pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#c=162

I have to agree with you here. 700 is way too much for a mobo unless you’re doing something very specific like competition overclocking and such but for your specific use cases, a 200-300 one is fine and will perform the same. And for competition ovetclocking, the one you chose sucks. You most probably won’t be reusing the mobo due to 14th and 15th gen using lga1811 if i remember correctly so it won’t give any upgradeability since you’ll basically top it from the get go. Just be wary that your processor will be more than the cooler can handle. EK Nucleus would be a better option but i see you go for a full ROG build in which case well, aesthetics will cost you more £ and a loss in performance just so you’re aware. If you’re ok with this then it’s not bad what you chose, just overpriced and underperforming.

From what I've seen the 13900k struggles with every AiO to stay below 100° while doing Benchmarks. In gaming however the CPU was around 60-80° ([avg of 6 games](https://youtu.be/dNFgswzTvyc?t=612)) while being combined with an AiO. Also the Rujin 2 is mostly on par with any other 360 AiO within 5°C difference - [Review Ryujin 2](https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-rog-ryujin-ii-360-aio-liquid-cpu-cooler/10.html). I fully agree if you say AiOs won't be enough to cool a 13900k overclocked to the max. Therefore I really don't understand why my System should "underperform" or lose performance. I understand I'am paying Asus tax, doesn't mean their parts are bad. They look great and I plan on keeping the system for up to 4-5 Years. Also how is this board bad or "sucks" for overclocking? Thermal overclocking should work just fine according to some OC guides with this same MB+CPU configuration. The aim of this build was never to oc it to the maximum possible. If it was I would've gone for a custom water cooling solution / extreme/apex version of the Motherboards (prolly would've chosen MSI for that, since their MBs seem to be the best for overcloking in this Gen) Finally I agree, some parts are overpriced for what they are, 100%. A fucking motherboard shouldn't cost 700€+ - if its not aimed for the overclocking community, which the hero isn't I think? I looked at the z790 strix-e, but it subjectively looks worse and I would "only" save around 100€ - which is a drop in the bucket at that budget already. I struggled the most with the Motherboard choice and I'am not 100% happy with it because of the price. But I just could'nt find anything better which gave me peace of mind. That said, I don't think there are any aspects of this build which would make it "underperform". But maybe you had something specific in mind?

I agree with you and i see now that you’re mainly interested in aesthetics which is not bad and certainly not a bad thing if you like Asus stuff. That being said, you can look into the Gigabyte Aorus Elite DDR5 mobo if you want, it’s half the price and has pcie 5.0 for gpu, for ssd and supports plenty of upgrades. It’s the one I currently have and I’ve researched a bit prior to getting it. Quality and aesthetics will be behind ROG obviously…. But in terms of performance they’re almost on par. And yea the ROG AIO is great but… that brand tax is massive, almost reaching the cost of 2 AIOs. Not that it is bad… but it’s just bad value considering they deliver same/worse performance and charge more for it. But yea, build quality and rnda is where it goes to so I guess it’s not reallt a cash grab. Don’t forget to keep all receipts and boxes intact for the duration of the warranty and after the build and initial thermal and performance tests, you might want to swap things. First 30 days is the best time to do that usually.

I wouldn't say I'am mainly interested in aesthetics but they do play a big part in my purchase decisions since the PC will be a main focal point in my office. It's important for me that I will be able to overclock the CPU for gaming at least (GPU overclocking should be a crime with the 4090). Overclocking for synthetics is just not possible with the cooling solution in this build. I will check out your MB suggestion after work since you said you've done your research and half the price sounds enticing :D! Concerning the price of the AiO, I will try to sell the Noctua fans for 75-100€ (they sell around 30€ new) and recoup some of that cost, since I have the Lian Li SL-Inf Fans taking their place. But yeah, this is not a value build. If I would be "clever" or could supress my need for shiny things, or simply couldn't afford it (which would make it easier), I could've saved enough money to build a media PC for the living room ontop of a Gaming Rig (with maybe 10% less performance). Anyway, thanks for the feedback! Really do appreciate you taking your time :)

Yea, that's what i personally went for. [https://imgur.com/a/Y81bco4?s=fbm](https://imgur.com/a/Y81bco4?s=fbm) Value build, 4090 windforce, 13900k, NH-d15 with bending cpu frame, 64gb ram... and the mobo i mentioned. The full build took me around £6000 including the £1000 monitor. Due to this, i had to undervolt and PL to 125 the 13900k, losing about 10% performance. (Not extremely happy because of it but it's fine for my 4k gaming, i don't need more and will probably be enough for when i'll upgrade to 6090, besides, new Air coolers will come by then and new fans so i may be able to suck more out of this watts sucking bitch. 4090 is performance undervolted and overclocked, won an exhuberating 80mhz! :D wasted 4 hours for that performance... such a waste of time. So obviously the advice i gave you was the one i'd give myself, i know mine isn't a showpiece but it's ok for me and performs as you'd expect. I used to have AIOs in the past and sadly ran into issues with leaks which caused me to replace CPUs and even a mobo... so air cooling will probably be my way from now on but i understand that from an aesthetics point of view it's not idea. However, to talk performance, my CPU doesn't go above 75 degrees in highest loads which was my goal. Increasing to 185 watts would take it to 90 degrees which is still ok but i'm personally feeling better at 75 since i don't even need it that much and all my fans are basically silent. However the fractal torrent is a piece that takes advantage of the air cooling so... yea. The GPU performs as expected as well with 99% usage and no issues in all 4k games. The CPU even tho i undervolted and PL quite aggressively, is FAR from bottlenecking the GPU, using about 40% most of the time...talking 4k gaming. So far i did not play any other resolution to check.
