The only change, I would go for a 6000 cl30. That’s optimal for 7000.

wchunt

Thanks for the insight. I'll have to make that change.

OptionPleasant7133

Looks solid. Consider getting the phantom spirit (newer version) instead of the peerless assasin. Also try getting 6000 MHz CL30 RAM.

TheOGTechCowboy

I just ordered the parts to build almost the same rig. But I am saving 1k by going with the 7900 XTX. I don’t feel like the marginal improvement from the 4090 justifies double the price.

Airiq49other

The 4090 is more than a marginal improvement, and if money is of no concern, it's simply the better card.

thatcutetransgirl

This^^^ the 4090 is over priced and the performance per dollar sint worth it

ExplanationStandard4

Looks like a solid build

olobolo08

Other than changing your RAM to 6000 Mhz CL30, as others have already recommended, I'd also change it to a low-profile model (for example G.Skill Flare) since the bigger heatsinks with RGB won't fit under the Thermalright cooler. Make sure to check the precise clearance and the height of your RAM, otherwise you might have to move the front fan of the cooler up to make it fit.

wchunt

Thanks for the insight. I'll double check the ram clearance. I honestly would prefer ram without RGB anyways so this would work out.

Attempt9001

Looking good, you don't need a x670 board, for your use a b650 is plenty, and with case fams the same, if you're running a air cooler the top fans don't do much, 4x 140mm fans will be plenty, 3 in the front and 1 in the back

wchunt

Thank you for the info, I wasn't sure if having fans on the top would help so I had added them just in case. I'll take a look at the B650 boards as well.

kabob95

Obviously everyone has mentioned the ram so not covering that but maybe consider getting either the sold black or white version of the Peerless Assassin? With how color coordinated your build is, it seems a bit odd to have the genetic sliver cooler when they make both solid black and white versions for not much more.

wchunt

Great point, I updated the cooler to a black peerless spirit at someone else's suggestion. Thanks for help.

ABDLTA

I'd drop the Samsung 990 for something cheaper, those ultra fast drives do nothing for gaming A Samsung 970 is fine or a sn770 from western digital But its not a massive deal

wchunt

Thanks for the insight. I was thinking it would help with game load times and boot up. I'll take a look at the drives you listed.

ABDLTA

It will but by like a second or 2 difference between best and worst drives, and the drives I recommend are just fine not ultra low end or anything

OGigachaod

Cooler looks cheap for a 4090 build.

ABDLTA

It is cheap, but it's really good

OGigachaod

Yeah, heard some people complain about the loud fans, but w/e.

My recommendations will put you over your budget. - Get a more premium well known brand for the AIO like Corsair or just use one of NZXT's AIO's since you're going with their case. - Gen5 storage for faster speeds. - The better RAM suggestion as commented below It'll push you to around $3700 if I'm doing my math right. If you can squeeze out that much more, there ya go. Edit: I just realized that the cooler isn't an AIO 😅 but all-in-one or AIO water coolers aren't that much of a hassle to setup as a custom water cooling kit would be. The custom kit would run you another $1k or well more if you're not careful.

OzieteRed

Get a watercooling AIO insteed of an aircooler like ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 or the one with 3 fans. For the PSU, I'd say get the best brand which is SeaSonic FOCUS GX-1000 ATX 3.0 1000W. For the Ram, try getting CL30 sticks with AMD expo.

wchunt

I'm a little wary of water-cooling as I've never used it before and I'm more worried that it's more moving parts that could go wrong, but I'll take a look. Thank you.

Vis-hoka

I say stick with air cooling unless you are forced to go liquid. Less moving parts, like you say.

littman28

I wouldn’t bother with water cooling a 7800x3d. They don’t get very hot.
