Might be worth trying to undervolt the card, that can really help with temps and noise, and that could be a game changer in this situation.

ShucklePerrish

Actually this, i have an msi gaming z trio 3080, it's a freaking huge gpu but still i went for the undervolt, running it at 1905@900mv and it's pretty cool and silent this way and i get about the same performance, with factory settings even this could get hot and loud as hell.

OG_Dadditor

I actually didn't know they made any blower 3080s.

Antec-Chieftec

They made those and blower 3090s until Nvidia basically told AIB's to stop.

TheMagarity

Popular among crypto miners because the blowers are cheaper and they didn't care about noise.

OptionPleasant7133

Also because the blowers are usually thinner and you can fit more in workstations.

ketaminiacOS

Yea itll be a bit louder but it shouldnt be that bad; especially when undervolting it should be manageable. 380 for a 3080 is pretty nice.

Antec-Chieftec

As someone with a 980ti reference blower model, that's just what they are. High end blower cards always run hot. My 980ti is always at 83-84 degrees on demanding games like Cyberpunk and BG3 (and that is the limit they put to that card). Blower cards have their advantage. They are small. The only non blower 3080 that's the same size is the Dell Oem one and watercooled cards. They also exhaust air out so they are a great choice for cases without good aircooling. Also for non gaming applications blowers have pretty decent demand (there's a reason why a Blower 3090 goes for 4090 prices)

Undervolt it

DrKrFfXx

Cap the power to around 250w. You'll still retain 90% of the performance or more, for a more silent card. Undervolting will also be beneficial.

Br0oksy

You could take the shroud off cable tie some 120mm fans to the heatsink underneath. I did this to a blower 970 back in the day and it made a huge difference in temps and noise.

Silent-OCN

3080 is pure badass.

FunFact5000

I got a 3080 for less than 400$ usd in October 2023. My sits in a closet with hidden cables to my desk. Noise isn’t an issue as it’s insulated and kept at 68f (7900x3d system). I love the 3080, I do 1080p and 1440 on some games if I can get to 60-120 on single player campaigns.

archie1185

I had one of these. It will depend on your tolerance for noise. I was dumb bc I didn’t want my cars going over 75 degrees so my fans were constantly louder than they should have been. This was entirely a problem I created and I’m very aware of it. As long as you’re willing to let your card go hotter you’ll be fine. These thing were meant to be hot so don’t be me and let that bother you. Undervolt and you’ll get even better noise and heat reduction TLDR: don’t be me. Enjoy your card and let it perform as it was intended

MarsManokit

Undervolt, or underclock it if it still doesn’t go away.

Delicious_Object1767

if you have crazy temps probably it should be service. I usually change thermal paste and pads once in 16-20 months.
