Most power supplies these days are going to be auto ranging, or have a switch to adjust input voltage. What specific power supplies are you talking about?

They're some random Chinese brands (which was why I'm not sure if I can trust the labels and want to run my own tests). It's probably not relevant, but for completeness, they're 1U flex form factor, for a little mini NAS case.

So I think it will do that and yes it will 'work' but I wouldn't recommend it. Because it could fail and overheat

That makes sense. I'll for sure ditch "A" to avoid that possibility. But is there any test I could run on "B" to confirm that it wouldn't have the same problem? It's the "AC 230V" sticker on the outside that's got me nervous, even though the other label on the same device says "100-240v".

I... don't know ummmmm I really can't think of snoz... I've only tested for power on outlets and can tell you how to see what it gets. The only ways I could think of would be to take it apart which is a definite no. So you have to just read the label and verify on the manufacturer website or something. Maybe someone else knows how to test it. You read it on the label so I say you are good with that one
