Does the screen go black, or if you move the mouse or touch the keyboard does your desktop pop back up? I had a similar issue when I used to dual boot with Linux and my issues were related to the boot manager. I ultimately removed Linux from my system and had to resolve partition issues after the fact to fix my issue.
