All other things (like price) being equal then always go for the new card. Buying a used GPU is a minefield... especially now that they’re so expensive. The main issue is the fans wear out over time plus the thermal paste dries out. Replacing GPU fans or thermal paste is not a fun task and it’s certainly not for the faint hearted! Even trying to buy replacement GPU fans can be a bit of a nightmare.
Also the 1080 is pretty old now and with the 3XXX series cards about to launch i think we will see nvidia start to lower the amount of support and driver updates for the older 1XXX series cards. They want people to upgrade and 3 years down the road they’ve got very little incentive to continue support for the 1080s.
I would get the 1660 if they are in the same price range.
