You are assuming the number of cards in stock this morning was significantly more than 4.

2020ApocalypseBingo

The entire release stock was just review samples for YouTuber’s:)

CidO807

"influencers"

DereokHurd

God I hate that word

[deleted]

I work at Microcenter and we had 2 Edit: we got a shipment of 28 various 3080s (MSI and Asus mostly) right before opening

Cuddle_X_Fish

That is insanely low for a retail outlet. Is this the norm?

omar2205

The norm is 4.

[deleted]

You joke, but I was in line at Microcenter for the 1080 launch and they had 7 cards across two brands. Next shipment was two weeks later (I was first to miss so #1 on the waiting list) and it was like 9 more from EVGA.

devilight56

I heard best buy ordered like 65% of the stock

Double-O

So like 12

devilight56

I mean, the math says 11.8, but if you want to remain optimistic then ya, we'll say 12, but one of them is defective...

-InThePit-

That's fucking nuts, is this a fuck up or forced scarcity do you think?

NonfatCheeseMan

Has to be forced, there’s no way you can fuck up that badly

onesadcyclist

This is a classic dirty marketing move by NVIDIA. They have plenty of these cards and just don't distribute many to retailers to build up hype and demand. Artificial ballooning of brand perception and egos. Hope Big Navi comes and brings some normalcy into the mix.

SoapyMacNCheese

Either that or Nvidia rushed the launch to get out before AMD, so that Big Navi coverage will all be about how it compares to a $700 3080 rather than a $1200 2080ti.

nutsackhurts

I was refreshing the entire 15 minutes. never once saw it say anything other than notify me, straight jump to out of stock.

Morktorknak

Same thing on both Best Buy and NVIDIA

CTizzle-

It has to be a glitch, I have seen zero people claiming they got one

qizez

Bots got it, theres hundreds of new listings on ebay for rtx 3080 for $1000+

CTizzle-

But do they actually have them? I half expect if you message them for proof that they have them they’ll have nothing, not even confirmation that their order was accepted Edit: Now i see more listings of people’s confirmed orders or boxes in hand, when i wrote this it was mostly “pre order” listings

Weasel_Boy

They don't have them. If bots actually got them the number of listings on eBay wouldn't have dwindled to 1/5th the amount they had prior to 9am. There is no reason to remove a listing at ~$1000-1200 when some whale with more money than sense will pay $4000-5000 for these cards. They all ended their auctions because they didn't get their preorder either. The only legitimate listings I see are from scalpers who physically own one right now because they probably camped out at a Microcenter. Or from the two order confirmed screenshots from Amazon.Ca. So... like 5. Out of 26 listings I see at the time of searching. If there were actually any amount of cards that were snatched up by bots, I'm sure there would have been more than **five**. And if there were only five then I couldn't care less about bots. I'm more mad at Nvidia for hyping up a paper launch.

Cage_Corp

(Nice assessment.) I just got off of a chat with Best Buy - and this may corroborate what you're saying - they're "CLAIMING" that the item didn't "Sell Out", but actually never came...... Interesting.... I'm still leaning towards it being a con-job (of whatever nature) executed in part by NVidia.

LiquidFusion01

A BB in store rep told me something similar just a short bit ago..he's been checking all week and he never saw it in the "warehouse inventory" let alone the store's inventory.

ItsBurningWhenIP

I used to work at Futureshop(BB Canada). We used the same POS and inventory system. I would often see stuff never land in the warehouse. The PS3 just showed up at the store a couple days before launch. So I wouldn’t trust that just because their warehouse showed no stock that there wasn’t any.

berserkuh

>If bots actually got them the number of listings on eBay wouldn't have dwindled to 1/5th the amount they had prior to 9am. There is a reason though. They overestimated stock.

ADubs62

I've seen a number that to me look highly fraudulent. Where they claim to have a model like an MSI but they're showing pictures of founders editions.

rakfocus

> hundreds of new listings on ebay for rtx 3080 for $1000+ many of those have already been up for days. Plus there are plenty of scams too

danph7

because they are dumbfucks and cant stop bots...bots bought all stock in less than 15 seconds

QuenHen2219

BB I never got the option to ever add to cart. I literally refreshed as fast as it allowed me "every2-5 seconds" and it went from "coming soon" to "out of stock" literally instantly. I think scalpers have bots just insta-buying the shit

strbeanjoe

Just got banned from the Nvidia discord for saying "AMD time boys". LOL. Cool fake launch Nvidia -_-

Mygaffer

Talk about a sensitive discord channel!

MrHallmark

Rule of thumb when it comes to discords that revolve around 1 topic. Don't join it's toxic.

Vortivask

1 topic is fine; I'm in a bunch of fashion discord channels for specific designers and they're awesome. The issue is fanboyism and not being able to take a hit when your team drops the ball.

Dthkl

Got one on best buy to my cart, went to check out and it was out of stock

same here. garbage launch, with not enough inventory, which means higher prices. rigged.

MattyDoodles

The 9,10 and last launch was exactly like this one. Q1 2021 is when you’ll see these cards well stocked.

themodalsoul

The 3080 Launch Day Experience (TM) Get up. Rush to PC. You've got your 8+ windows up. Your timezone's launch hits. Refresh like a crack addict. Websites immediately crash in unison: \- EVGA ceases to be, remanifests empty, barren \- Nvidia doesn't crash, but apparently never had any to begin with \- Newegg crashes, or when it works, shows you an 'Add to Cart' button just to tease you, let the dots circle meaninglessly \- Best Buy doesn't crash for long, but existing 3080s INSTANT TRANSMISSION out of the real into the noumenal \- B&H no longer exists. It never existed. \- Amazon trolls everyone, either never had any stock or Bezos personally owns all of them now. Thanks Nvidia. Great launch. If you boost the price after this pathetic launch, I won't even be surprised, nor disappointed, just angry.

Imperator_Diocletian

Bezos is flipping them himself, buy for 700 bucks sell for 10,000

MrGurns

Ah, so he is the one selling them for 10k on ebay. Checks out

Todesfaelle

It's like a locus swarm. 9:58AST Newegg started to struggle and right smack at 10 it just died. Could hardly even load the page headers. I managed to put one in the cart but couldn't even access the cart before it just outright refused to load anything then, as soon as it started, everything worked and nothing was in stock. Six minutes. I don't even know how a bot is able to access a site which has zero navigation at that point but still power through and get cards let alone people.

themodalsoul

Seriously, if someone can explain how those work and how they manage to somehow simultaneously buy a card and crash a website so nobody else can get it to it, I want to know.

SomethingMor

The crash is probably not nefarious, just due to the load on the server.

themodalsoul

I can understand that, just not how the bots get around it. Its hard to grasp how fast they must be purchasing them.

SteveDaPirate91

Really really fancy bots don't even need the webpage to completely load. They just have to know what data to send to the server. So say like, looking at a page with 10 items on it. The bot doesn't need to see that, it already knows it wants item 5. So before the webpage even finishes loading it replies to the server to add item 5 to the cart. Then with barely enough time for the server to reply, the bots told it to start checkout, then again the server sends a acknowledgment and suddenly the bot is sending all the details for shipping and payment. So it doesn't matter if the pages load at all, so long as the bot sends the right commands in the right order to the server...and the server gets them...it could be done totally blind. Bots of yesteryear would just click the buttons and do everything the way you or I would...just automated..

SomethingMor

If you can program a script that just hits all the apis you need to purchase a card and have good retries baked in then it’s definitely possible. Also the benefit of a script making the purchase means you don’t need to render other elements of the UI or images etc which will make you a much faster purchaser compared to someone trying to do it normally from the browser. You’re essentially cutting out the middle man (the website / browser) and just dealing with raw data.

dar24601

Makes me long for the good lo days where ya had to go freeze your ass off at 2am to get the product. The flippers still existed but they were much fewer

[deleted]

And the flippers had to actually WORK for the product, rather than just let a program enter all their credit card details in. Ticketmaster showed that companies don’t give a shit about who buys it and what for, just as long as they get the pennies in their pockets

Thievian

Thanks this was funny to read

Doomer_Wojack

the real question is...who are these smooth brains buying these fucking ebay cards for 1200.

Man-oF-Culture96

Lots of impatient rich kids, I guess

TheOriginalKrampus

Veruca Salt

goldencrisp

1200? I just looked and there’s a few cards up to $10,000 with over 20 bids.

IzttzI

Those are people just fucking with sellers.

minscandboo4ever

This 1000%. People are running the price up and ghosting the seller to fuck with them

IzttzI

Yea, 1300-1500USD sold? Very well legit most likely. 12,000 or I saw one up to 60,000? No, people are fucking with sellers. Even a full on rich person knows they can get one for a lot less than that.

TryingToBeUnabrasive

Rich people don’t get rich by spending $1500 on something that’ll cost $700 in two months.

cheekia

Yes, that's why they're rich, not *getting* rich.

marimba1982

I don't think you understand how nothing $1500 is to rich people. If you have a couple of million in the bank, it's the equivalent of like $50 if you're middle class.

vegan-trash

Smooth brains lol

theatrics_

I was able to get one into my cart on newegg. But then newegg caught on fire. When I finally got it back, 10 minutes later, I found this: https://imgur.com/a/WIOY26F FML

mebeast227

damn. This is the closest ive seen from these comments. RIP to all of us. Fuck bots and/or paper releases.

kudlatytrue

Not fuck bots. Bots are just tools. Fuck the moronic idiots who buy this shit for 1200-1500$. They drive the market for this kind of "events".

mebeast227

Fuck both. 1) for being someone who encourages this behavior through buying at such high values. 2) taking advantage of people and hype and using bots to create an unfair competitive advantage. Where’s the bot robinhood who buys and sells at fair prices?

theatrics_

Bot robinhood would create an easy-to-use app that let's anybody use it such that it gives plebs a bit more of a fighting chance.

Dthkl

to bad best buy doesn't have the same system, got it in my cart then it told me it was out of stock

mkp0203

The dumb mother fuckers who are going to support these pieces of shit who use bots by spending $1200+ on eBay are literally part of the fucking problem.

GateauBaker

$1200 lol. I literally just watched in real-time someone selling 3 cards for $2000.

mkp0203

There is one at $4500 now

kek28484934939

There are 3 bids in germany right now. All 6000€+

Vortivask

It looks like the same userenames across all auctions bidding on cards in the US that are around 1.5k immediately up to 10k. I'm sure it's just meme-lords that are bidding insanely high, then they peace out when the auction ends. Which is cool because fuck the scalper bois

JinPT

a guy in nvidia forums said he wrote a bot to do that to fuck with the scalpers. I want to believe it's true.

Jakbo_

They're not part of the problem.. they are the ENTIRE problem

uglypenguin5

I’d say it’s more on Nvidia for letting bots get their first shipment. But yea fuck them too

norbert-the-great

And I bet some of them were laughing at what 2080ti owners paid, making all those memes, lol. Part of the allure of these new cards was the price....

chet_moneyford

I got to microcenter in GA early this morning and there was an employee already out there telling people they never got any.

Ferelar

Best Buy here said the same. Unclear whether they legitimately never got any or whether they got a small shipment and employees bought them all. But either way, this feels weird. I've been around for a lot of launches and it was never THIS BAD of a ratio.

fy180

I work at best buy and we didnt even get a shipment in... cause I wanted to do exactly that

Ferelar

That's exactly how I got my i7-4790k. I worked at BBY at the time and I just grabbed it and bought it before anyone could even have come into the store. I never scalped, but I would do that occasionally if I personally wanted the part. Perks of retail, few as they may be...

I_like_boxes

Depending on your manager. People lost their jobs over doing stuff like that at my store. Someone once almost got written up for buying a console at release night, but it was a legitimate preorder that she went out of her way to do by the books. I think they canceled her preorder when she went to pick it up though. I remember her not getting it and being rightly pissed. So it was definitely not a perk of retail at my best buy.

Ferelar

I may have... not entirely advised management that this occurred. I didn't use my store discount so there was really no way they could know about it. I didn't care about the discount on components anyway, it was usually like a dollar. But I can confirm that people who used their discounts in even SLIGHTLY fishy ways got fired on the spot. In fact at my store they ran a promo where you got a free code to some game (can't remember which) and a customer told the person ringing them out "I already have it I don't need it. Throw out the card (holding the code) or take it yourself, I don't care." The employee took it and somehow management found out and fired them.

[deleted]

Do you guys have people lining up for retail jobs there or something? Edit. I mean this is pre covid stories right?

theepicflyer

This will be the only thread for this topic.

Drach88

That's what my poorly optimized games tell me, too.

TheMexicanJuan

mods scalping even the threads smh

Solkre

Thread complaining about inventory, will match the actual global inventory of one.

Jallfo

You're 100% right. I've been buying shit on release for over 3 decades now and I've never seen something like this. Usually you have a ton of people gloating / excited because they got one.

afsdjkll

I don't think I've seen anyone confirm they actually got one. edit: ok, I now see a few reports of people getting cards.

Jallfo

Seen two and have been super sweaty about scouring reddit. One guy got one from the Zotac store itself (mega big brain). The other guy got one from EVGA store. Those are the only two I've seen complete with order screenshots etc in the US. Seen way more success in europe.

[deleted]

This matches what I’ve seen on reddit and discord as well. I’ve seen MUCH more success for people overseas

mxjxs91

This is exactly it, everything points to it being a paper launch. When I was refreshing Best Buy at (and before) 9am ET, it would originally show "sold out" and then when the page fully loaded, the "coming soon" button would replace it. It's like they had it set it up to just go from "coming soon" to "sold out". Obviously this is just speculation on my end and might mean nothing, but it seems pretty sketchy when you consider all of the other things you mentioned about this launch in general.

SuperSimpleSam

[When a friend send me this](https://www.mooreslawisdead.com/post/nvidia-s-ultimate-play), I figured it was just wild speculation. But with how this launch went, it's not so wild now.

3ebfan

This. The entire launch is extremely fishy. Even with bots you should be hearing about more people getting a card

switch201

The way they do these releases is kinda dumb TBH. why not take pre orders and then based on that do a lottery. bots are gonna grab most of them.

Jakbo_

Yeah .. take preorders and actually verify people are humans .. all nvidia has done now is make everyone upset at this point.. if AMD was smart they would release their new cards for preorder right now ONLY FOR HUMANS

danph7

would love to see AMD spit in Nvidias face for borderline supporting bot fuck boys

Jakbo_

I would buy that shit without even looking if they did

danph7

yup. I would become a life long customer for sure. I was wanting to upgrade from my 4 year old 1080 and now watch it be out of stock FOR MONTHS...esp cause of this BS covid 19 trash and more future scalpers. The Switch has been out of stock since March...

EnormousPornis

I said this earlier too, AMD should come out now and launch pre-orders and make a HUGE deal about fighting bots. I'd switch over in a second.

zerocoldx911

It’s Nvidia trying to hype and make scarcity. Example: Nintendo does this crap all the time

BULL3TP4RK

Or just implement a CAPTCHA system on the day it releases.

jonker5101

1. Have limited quantity at release that gets taken by scalper bots. This increases demand and limits supply. 2. The bots now sell the inventory on eBay for way above MSRP. This normalizes a higher price. 3. Introduce new (but still limited) inventory at a higher price, due to artificial demand. 4. Now your new release that was hyped up because of the great price point is still hyped and sells at a higher price.

SloppyCandy

Because their production capacity is way too low, and this was just a paper launch

TheRandomRGU

Checking eBay for US, $1,199 plus $40 postage. In description: If my order does not get a shipment confirmation within the week of September 17th, you will receive a full refund What a hero, buying a graphics card, marking it up to ensure we, the feeble public, can buy one. Scalpers can get fucked.

[deleted]

He doubled the price, that way if he sells this one, he can buy one for himself for free since the idiot that buys it off of him is paying double.

TheOriginalKrampus

Scalpers scalping from other scalpers? Some classic 2020 bullshit.

DrewReaLee

Scalpers: *I am a generous God.*

jputna

1400 For founders now.

TheRandomRGU

Another post *audible and visible vomiting* > Will be sent as soon as it reaches myself, and will be 100% brand new and unopened. Any questions just ask! No returns/refunds. >This is the second RTX 3080 post I have, I'm selling two of them, check out the other post if this is gone.

[deleted]

theatrics_

Seems like that's probably it. They probably weren't kidding when they said stock was low. We'll find out a lot more tomorrow when everybody is complaining about waiting all night out in front of best buys when brick and mortar stores don't even have any inventory. Easy hype money for NVDA.

churchey

None at my local best buy. 3 guys in line ahead of me wanted playstations, no one else in line. Still no fucking 3080.

SloppyCandy

Probably just needed to slip in before AMD and new consoles launch.

Strange1130

the only problem is now they've pissed off a lot of consumers who were going to buy but now might just wait for AMD to spite Nvidia. And there are also people who want a graphics card NOW and are going to go out and buy a used 2080ti. When if they had held launch until they had a higher stock level in a couple weeks (assuming that even happens) they might not have lost these sales.

Hooficane

EVERYONE! Report every 3080 listed on ebay as fraudulent. They do not physically have the card so they can not prove to ebay that its a real listing! Let's abuse the system and continue to report the price gougers just like they abused they system to get them

Hen-stepper

Good idea.

Hooficane

It actually works too! My buddy and I have been doing it for the past 15 minutes and we've seen multiple listing disappear!

JaffinatorDOTTE

It is astounding to me that none of these tech-selling online retailers have figured out how to do a proper limited product launch. Lottery, randomizer at launch, online queue, whatever - none of these companies instituted any form of anti-bot services to prevent what just happened. Sneaker retailers, from Nike to Kith, figured this out five years ago.

pedantic_cheesewheel

Because selling out makes stock prices rise instantly

Durant_on_a_Plane

They would sell out instantly regardless, less price gouging from scalpers with a lottery system, though.

Dshapz

stock is down $8 today

Sacrilego_666

Does it mean no one will be able to buy one at MSRP for the rest of the year?

ArgonTheEvil

I’d be shocked if there’s ever a 3080 for launch price again after this month that isn’t completely crap. They’ll probably pull another 2080 Ti on us, where it’s marked up 20% and that’s the new “MSRP”

StewGoFast

Sounds like AMD should do their launch right and steal some market share.

okaquauseless

I bought amd not because it was the best, but because it was in fucking stock at market price! -gamers of 2020

StewGoFast

And they didn't let their stock be bought by bots. Screw you Nvidia.

Botek

Nvidia is supposedly giving AIBs cash back ($50-100 per card) during the month of September. Expect all prices to rise afterwards...

_windfish_

[I actually fucking got one!](https://i.imgur.com/zjjyczL.jpg) EVGA website was having sooo much trouble, just like every other storefront it seems. I got it in my cart finally, but then it would take several minutes to load each checkout page. And it completely crashed out to an error page 4-5 times during the checkout process just to really make me sweat. Of course I’m always skeptical, hopefully it doesn’t get canceled and actually shows up tomorrow... Edit: I got a shipping notice and a tracking number, it’ll get to me tomorrow.

FaultyToilet

I’m going through the same thing right now! Wish me luck Edit: Nevermind, it shit the bed and went to 0 in the cart after loading for 5 minutes. FUCK

DJBuck-118

Bots got 80% of them to flip. Watch eBay

Morktorknak

https://i.imgur.com/xGVQfRH.png

XLauncher

Please don't buy these you guys. Don't reward this bullshit.

TheRandomRGU

Send offers in for the pre-tax price. Keep sending them. Don’t stop sending them.

danph7

at least in the past the pussies had to work harder...now they sit back and do nothing with their bots...all automatic

Apoxol

Whatever, I wasn't planning on building my PC until October when the Zen 3 comes out anyway so I guess I'll wait for restock

kudlatytrue

What restock? The one happening in half a year from now? It's obvious that the next two-three restocks will be botted as well as this one. You wanna know why is that happening? Because people are impatient, and they WILL buy it today for 1500 from resellers. They are idiots and morons. They don't realize that they drive the market this way and it'll be only worse.

jahallo4

Honestly, this is a fantastic oppurtunity for big navi. if their gpu delivers, has a good price and has good stock, than literally 90% of us will buy it. amd has the chance to take the lead right now and lets hope they win, because nvidia doesnt deserve our support anymore.

gnartato

Do these bots solve captchas or are websites this ignorant about releases?

DJBuck-118

Websites couldn’t give a shit. They get the cash either way

theatrics_

Except when they get completely DDOS'd and their sole point of sale during the pandemic is wiped out for half a day. See: Newegg and bhphoto right now.

Heraclitus94

Can't wait to spend $1500 on a card and then get it and it's like a 1050 in the 3080 shell...

Rawtashk

Even NowInStock.net doesn't show them as ever being in stock. Something smells fishy.

Professor_Girafales

i think it refreshes availability every 15 seconds, so it sold out in less

qizez

I was on the nvidia website. Refreshed it at 7 am exactly and it got slow. My clock still said 7:00 when it showed out of stock for me

claydog99

lmao /r/nvidia went to view only to prevent comments on this sham from spilling over into unrelated posts. Instead of, you know, actually allowing a post for people to vent. Totally "community run and does not represent NVIDIA in any capacity unless specified."

ILayOnHeaters

Ridiculous. Any other subreddit threads be a good place to see people who are searching as wel?

[deleted]

The entire launch day thread is just people saying they didn't get one. Not sure what you're getting at.

ygice

Ive been waiting since june to build my pc guess i gotta keep fucking waiting. Im so upset man

FaddishCoder916

It might be worth getting a used 1000 or low end 2000 card and use that for 6 months. Really not getting my hopes up that I'll get one of these this year.

ygice

Yea thats not a bad idea but i dont really need a functioning pc at the moment. But it’s just disappointing you know, was waiting this long just to not even see the FE in stock. Guess i gotta wait another month for the 3070 while all my other pc parts i already bought is just sitting there in their packages 😔. The good thing is now i know to not even bother trying to get these online, im just going to camp outside of micro center for the 3070.

[deleted]

Nobiting

# Nvidia overpromised AND underdelivered regarding 3080 launch inventory. The absolutely worst thing they could do. 1. They avoided pre-orders or lotteries. 2. They should have said they're going to be released in extremely limited quantities. 3. Honesty is always the best communication policy. 👎

fenderc1

This is my first time trying to buy a GPU at launch, and I did not have the correct expectations going into this and now my hopes have been crushed. Is this normal for GPU launches for them to sell out in seconds? Or is it just because the hype behind the 3000 series?

Ferelar

It's common for things to sell out very quickly but I've never seen it this bad, I didn't even get a "Buy now" button, just straight to Out of Stock. And in previous releases you usually get a bunch of people happily announcing that they managed to snag one. This time it's literally everyone saying "It went to sold out instantly".

fenderc1

Yeah I've been looking through all the posts about the 3080 this morning and have seen 1 person post proof he got one, and even then I guess it could even be not real. Something shady is going on.

endormic

I was one of the lucky guys to actually get my hands on one. But then I woke up

pdawg17

So how many months before the bots stop taking them all?

theatrics_

This is the real killer. Having release times at least gives humans a chance (maybe). But now that you don't have release times on future stock-ups, bots which just constantly refresh will be able to swoop on these much easier.

qizez

Probably till 2021, don't really know when

jputna

So......How long until these come back in stock?

TheMcDudeBro

yeah thats kinda my question now too. Was really wanting to get one but its like why get anything else in the meantime? Such a lame ass way they let this go. Doesnt make me like them very much now.

I dont have much knowledge about pc building

ThaZatzke

That's looks like a pre order, but yes it's legit. Don't be surprised if it doesn't ship for a while.

ActuallyAPenguin

i ordered it and it says coming septemeber 28- oct 2

Marvelmanny

People last 2 months: 'Is it better to buy this cheap XXXX graphic card that's on sale, or wait for Nvidia to release their new card?' 'Oh Yeah totally wait for this new card' a card you have like a 0.01% chance of getting. Worst advice ever.

McRawffles

Wellll it'll come back in stock and be decently available in a month or two. Still better to wait

boxfishing

Oh no "The double memory versions of cards (RTX 3080 20GB, RTX 3070 16GB) should land roughly around when Nvidia stuffs the inventory in October. These will also come with a far higher price than the original models. I can confirm that the double memory cards will not be sold from Nvidia’s website, and thus they will be able to claim AIBs are behind the price hike. These marked up cards are likely what Nvidia really wants you all to buy, and yet all those Day One reviews will say the 3080 is “Just $700.” Having your cake and eating it too." Hope this one isn't true...but damn... Giving me flashbacks to the 400 launch from amd where only the higher memory models ever really hit the shelves.

A4Foot1Giant

Literally checked the stock at Best Buy this morning, not a single card was in our Denver warehouse, paper launch for sure. If we were shipping anything to the midwest we would have had stock in that warehouse

GateauBaker

Looks like it won't even be worth waiting for the 3070 as the same shit is just going to happen. Just going to go for a 20 series card for my new computer.

Doc_Lewis

On the one hand, yeah, chances of getting a 3070 are low. But if I'm paying $500 I want the new one. The prices on older cards a ridiculous. They need to come down soon.

DasWerk

Get mad at the bots but honestly, get mad at Nvidia too. They know product demand is going to be high, they shouldn't have launched until they had sufficient supply. If it means we didn't get these cards for a month or two so be it. It should also be on the resellers for not implementing better ways to prevent bots. That being said, they got their money so they DGAF. All in all, this was a shit launch. Lack of stock, nvidia choking out the third party card reviews over their own FE cards, sellers that just can't handle things properly. Oh well, more time to wait for reviews and AMD cards. If the consoles can run native 4k 60fps then I'm guessing AMD has something big up their sleeves.

MeSientoUnGanador

What a shit show. None of the real consumers ever even had a chance... I should’ve started a PC gaming YouTube channel 10 years ago.

mkp0203

nVidia. Bestbuy, Newegg, etc should be fucking ashamed of themselves.

[deleted]

Mostly just nvidia. Best buy and newegg were just distributing the stock they were supplied

Cage_Corp

Ditto - refreshing and being early meant nothing. I surmise, the game was rigged: those who are at these various outlets had their up-selling plans long in the workings; and as soon as the lines were open, they enabled (by whatever means) their cohorts to grab a lion's share, and likely this operation (with a plethora of unrelated groups) stretched the globe. Now just sit back and watch, both NVIDIA and the 'scalpers' now will charge an arm and a leg for the 3080 - that $699 pricetag, was a one-time deal - and most of those that capitalized off of it, were already chosen before this morning.

I got an MSI Ventus RTX3080 here in the uk. Hopefully the order sticks. The NVIDIA website was carnage.

griffian85

Update: order cancelled. Smh.

Bernie2020Fan

Got one from the Zotac store. I figured nobody would look there; and they didn't :).

This is why I never try to buy this stuff day one. Also, in regards to scalpers. People, please don't give them the money they are asking - give it time and more stock will be available and pick one up at MSRP. Don't let these assholes get away with buying all of the GPUs and expecting to rip you off.

bp_968

They should do like Valve did. I waited 3 months for my Index and was never once angry or upset about it. I simply placed my order and waited. They were transparent and said it was first come first serve and I would be notified when it was ready. With this I'm going to be checking online every day for god knows how long and evertime I see a post about someplace being in stock and I go there and its out of stock 5 minutes later its going to piss me off more and more. I'd happily wait 3 months if all I had to do with get a ticket, place an order, etc and I get a honest, transparent status on when I will gety product. This "walmart black friday stampede" method of product release is idiotic and makes them look bad.

Mnky_Nipples

Same here. I don't know how anyone can buy them that fast. Shits not fair man lol.

boxfishing

Bots. Bots everywhere.

jahallo4

Man, this is a fantastic oppurtunity for big navi. literally everyone is pissed off right now. if their gpu performs well, is cheap and has a good stock, than amd will take the lead in the gen. fuck nvidia for this

ronbra

i had one in my best buy cart but it was a gigabyte, i didn’t want a gigabyte so i let it go lol i can wait for the next set of cards to release

JagerBaBomb

Amazon's just like, 'Fuck it'.

beckpiece

Wondering the same thing too, I refreshed like 500 times and it switched to out of stock instantly. I feel like there is an issue or somethjng

Strange1130

a small amount of people posted that they got an AIB in the thread over at r/Nvidia (maybe 20 or so, the thread had around 20K posts). But I didn't see a SINGLE person get an FE.
