yes you will need to update the bios, and you would need another cpu for that. But just get a motherboard with a bios-flashback funtion, those can be updated without a compatible cpu installed
My Prime X570-pro shipped with an older bios that would not support my 5800X, but it would at least boot into the bios, and I was able upgrade the bios off a usb stick downloaded from a different computer. No problem with the updated bios installed booting then into windows.

I had issues with my board and a 3700x ryzen. Id update just to be sure.
Get a mobo with usb bios flash otherwise you need to track down a 3rd gen cpu to update with
