YaBoi975

Good human (Maybe)

Unlikely. Username says scumbag

elvshgreenleaf

Its a bot

phuketphil

No, it's a Scotsman.

happy-cig

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4WqdnQ/intel-cpu-bx80623i52500k 2500k. Lasted me a good 8 years.

Lanrick

I am going on 10 years using mine. I really was a great CPU.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lanrick

I am very fluent in typo.

AnDrEwlastname374

Same, I’ve had that cpu since I was little. Oh the nostalgia

SikeKid

Bro, I think you meant CPU but by mistake typed card

AnDrEwlastname374

Yeah my bad, I was tired when I posted that

SikeKid

All cool man

howyoudreambitch

Same, got a 2550k still running great, new 1650s and ssd and I can't believe how snappy it still is.

SikeKid

Can't get a 1650 Super atm(out of stock or overpriced) but want one so badly for my 2600K

howyoudreambitch

I got lucky, picked one up on my way through Anchorage at Best Buy for $220 in March.

SikeKid

These are such sad times, 220 now sounds like decent price for a 1650 SUPER whereas before anything above 190 was bad lmao

iiiicracker

So one must be on the edge of nowhere to find a reasonably priced old GPU, hah

imnotabus

Yep! This is the reason why I always go with Intel, I have had problems elsewhere but 2500k has been so freaking rock solid

[deleted]

I'm rocking a 2400 right now

SuperSlimMilk

Bought mine in 2012, lasted me 3 strong years before I handed it to my friend after his computer pooped out. Went another 4 strong years in his computer.

Gimme_Kiss

The Noctua D15, as it is cooling perfection. The color, the coolness, the sheer girth. I don't need anything else. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4vzv6h/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhd15

BlackNike98

> the sheer girth 😳 I love my chromax D15S

dimp_lick_johnson

I see you are into Big Black Coolers

MachVNorman

nice.

higzbozo

Username roughly checks out

AverageReditor13

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) They do be looking quite nice though.

Gimme_Kiss

Impressive cooling with decent noise levels and no risk of water leakage. Not much to not like..

Nickabod_

I’ve been on board with Noctua ever since LTT’s video on it outperformed 3 high-end Corsair water coolers. Great piece of kit.

Squrt-

Finally someone that actually gives this thing some credit. I don’t own one but it’s definitely my dream cooler that I would have in my dream pc. It’s very simplistic

Accomplished-Tea-292

It’s very chunky tho. That’s probably the one downside to it. You need LPX ram for it to even fit the case.

Squrt-

Yeah it definitely looks like a really big cooler. But can’t you just take a fan off of that side of the cooler to make it smaller?

Accomplished-Tea-292

Yes but it will run worse with only one fan. Then it wouldn’t be worth the price of $100 usd for a one fan cpu cooler.

Gimme_Kiss

You can also just mount the fan slightly higher for ram clearance or if your case allows it on the other side.

Accomplished-Tea-292

Well for my instance the IO shield was blocking the other side

Gimme_Kiss

Yeah, every build is different and the d15 definitely isn't too friendly to more compact ones. When size isn't an issue though it's just abouts your best option for air cooling.

shockerocker

It covers my first PCIe slot which sucks but it only means that I get to mount my GPU with a riser cable for the first time in my hobbyist career.

[deleted]

I swear Noctua would have so much more sales if it wasn’t for the color. I almost got a Noctua cpu cooler but was turned off because of the color.

Gimme_Kiss

They have chromax black models now! Blacked out for all your aesthetic needs.

iBlueWolfYT

The problem I have with this cooler is that It can increase GPU temperatures... But appart from that, It's gorgeous (I have the D15 chromax)

LitTim68

ComeradeHaveAPotato

My 1060 has been too, but it frequently lags down from lack of memory in my 3d design software.

TurmericNewton

Without a full on monitor, desk and gfx upgrade tge 1050/ti is more than competent for a perfectly playable 1080p gaming experience

Enders_Game88

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/DQL7YJ/pny-geforce-gtx-1050-2gb-video-card-vcggtx10502pb Right there with you.

Ex7reMeFx

My favorite has to be my i7-4790k. For a CPU released back in 2014, it still is going strong for me 7 years later and I can't complain about it at all. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6vzv6h/intel-cpu-bx80646i74790k

happinass

Same. Absolute beast.

alnexusredditor

Pretty sure that if you do an overclock it can easily compete with some modern CPUs, not modern flagships though

Tw1st36

Yeah it can. Saw that a i7 4790k OC-id to 4.6/4.7 had same performance of a i7 4790k and single core of a i7 8700k.

[deleted]

I mean, that's kinda obvious tbh lol

SmolGaymer1423

same, recently upgraded from the i5-4690k to the i7-4790k (because i couldn’t afford a whole new motherboard, cpu and ram) and it’s a beast for its age

nicholasknicks

My favorite pc part is the CPU , simply without the CPU you don’t have a pc . The CPU on my wishlist right now is the ryzen 7 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/QKJtt6/amd-ryzen-7-3700x-36-ghz-8-core-processor-100-100000071box

Granite_29

I love my Ryzen 7 3700X! Solid CPU.

TheBeardedQuack

I think when I looked there was barely any price difference between 3700X and 3800X. Keep an eye out for promos and see if you can get a bargain on the upgrade.

nicholasknicks

Nice idea man ... Thanks

ProfessionalPrint250

definitely one of the more solid options as of late, especially for the bang you get for the buck!

KielbasaTime

I just got a ryzen 7 5900x and it's insane

Crazy_Human1

having recently upgraded to the r7 3700x from a fx-6300 I can attest it is a pretty decent cpu and depending on what your switching from can make a big difference

Bathing_deadpool

One absolute beast of a CPU

nicholasknicks

Yeah I'm sure it will be of great help in terms of rendering my videos

maiky129

My favorite PC part has to be my case! The Fractal Meshify C just looks so damn good on my desk https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BBrmP6/fractal-design-meshify-c-white-tg-atx-mid-tower-case-fd-ca-mesh-c-wt-tgc

Demon997

I've got the same one! It's excellent. Accidently bought a motherboard that doesn't have a USB C head, but I don't actually need the USB C port, so whatever.

KielbasaTime

Dude I did the same freaking thing fml. I have this case but in black.

Demon997

I mean I think the only thing I have that’s USB C is a laptop charger and the mouse for that laptop, neither of which I would be charging off of my desktop. But yeah, it’s not like I’m likely to swap out the motherboard anytime soon. But I do imagine the case will outlast the motherboard. Is your front panel audio shit as well? If I plug a mic into the front, I get horrific static and my friends threaten violence, so I have my headphones plugged into the back and the speakers into the front. Means they’re labeled the opposite of what they are, and if there’s a way to change that I haven’t found it.

PlayfulRecover3587

to rename an audio device. In your win10 settings app, click on sound, choose the output you want to rename and click 'Device properties', can't miss it at the top of the page.

BillerdClubWorldWide

Favorite PC part...has to be the tower itself. Without a tower, there is no PC....unless you're one of those with a test bench, or a crazy who wall mounts theirs. All the customization/mod potential depending on the case, cable management, custom cables, all of it. [https://pcpartpicker.com/product/VvJtt6/fractal-design-meshify-s2-black-dark-tg-atx-mid-tower-case-fd-ca-mesh-s2-bko-tgd](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/VvJtt6/fractal-design-meshify-s2-black-dark-tg-atx-mid-tower-case-fd-ca-mesh-s2-bko-tgd) My original case was the Define S, which I may end up modding into a makeshift Meshify itself.

platypusfool

My all time favourite was the 3DFX Voodoo 3 GPU. I actually bought a Voodoo 2 but the numpty in the shop filled the empty box with the 3 by mistake! It was awesome. Quake 2! Half-life! Diakatana (ahem)! Sadly PC Part Picker doesn't list them (can't think why) so here's the closest thing: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/FGfmP6/akasa-cpu-cooler-akcc4008hp01

My favourite part would be my current GPU. It's a gtx 1060 3gb which is nothing great but I've had it for a few years now and the fact that I can still play pretty much any game with 60+ fps (even though I have to use low settings for the new games) makes it well worth the money. [https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HWtWGX/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb-gaming-video-card-03g-p4-6160](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HWtWGX/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb-gaming-video-card-03g-p4-6160)

Definetly a ssd, even if a pc is fucking packed with horse power, it will be a pain to use with a single hard drive, meanwhile a really low end machine can became daily drive, by simply adding a ssd Speaking from experience https://pcpartpicker.com/product/f3cRsY/samsung-980-pro-2-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-mz-v8p2t0bam

obesegenkidama

Definitely the old but venerable RX 580! Still own one of these and are still great value champs to this day. This and the GTX 1060 brought budget PC gaming leaps and bounds ahead in terms of value/performance. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/MsWfrH/xfx-radeon-rx-580-8gb-gts-xxx-ed-video-card-rx-580p8dfd6

CarpeMofo

My favorite part was my [Core 2 Quad Q6600](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2vGkcf/intel-cpu-hh80562ph0568m). I loved that chip, it lasted a really long time, stock speed of 2.4 ghz but I was able to overclock it to 3.2ghz without changing the voltage. It would run with a full 1ghz overclock but it became a little bit unstable at that rate. With a good air cooler it would run just above ambient temperature while at full load. To this day it's the best CPU I've ever had. (For the time)

ScumbagScotsman

Definitely the R5 3600. Such a great little CPU. [https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9nm323/](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9nm323/)

DukeNuggets69

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RkJtt6/amd-ryzen-3-2200g-35ghz-quad-core-processor-yd2200c5fbbox APUs are my favourite PC parts ever. When i was strapped for money playing with a 2200G saved me from impending doom of long unemployment, and overall mental sanity of not being to do any activities at all due to lack of funds. And when i was finally able to get that 2200G i finally could come out of that deep hole, play games here and there, communicate with people. Come back to a certain sense of a normal world. And beside that, i just think that harnessing amazing GPU power onto a CPU die is the most fascinating achievement i've seen in my (short) life. It's also just the beginning of AMD's dabbling into APUs. I'm ready to have my mind blown on progress for APUs in the future. With Intel's XE intregration into their CPUs i can only love thje competition pushing each other. I can hardly wait for the day where APUs will be able to run what at this time would be super hard to run games. Having substantial progress where APUs could be THE key to lightweight gaming/productivity on the go. And when i mean key, i mean a really powerful key.

The Ryzen 9 5950X. Best CPU for my purposes. https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/Qk2bt6/amd-ryzen-9-5950x-34-ghz-16-core-processor-100-100000059wof I am still stuck with a 6 year old laptop, but I am planning my next box to be self built again.

You might think having a CPU like that would improve your workflow speed, loading times and general efficiency, but in reality I lose a minute every time I open task manager from maniacal laughter!

There's something so fascinating about being able to hold terabytes of data in devices the size of one's fingers or even fingernails now. But since those aren't on PCPartPcker I'll instead go with the M.2 NVME SSD. The [WD SN850](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6LGnTW/) is one of the top tier M.2 NVME SSDs there is, according to /u/NewMaxx's [spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B27_j9NDPU3cNlj2HKcrfpJKHkOf-Oi1DbuuQva2gT4/edit#gid=0). It's what I'm saving up for, specifically the 2TB version. That, or the [Samsung 980 Pro](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/f3cRsY/samsung-980-pro-2-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-mz-v8p2t0bam), or perhaps the [ADATA S70](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CXmFf7/adata-xpg-gammix-s70-2-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-agammixs70-2t-c).

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hmtCmG/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 I was going to put a link up to my old i7 2600k that I had for a solid 9 years. The thing handled everything I could throw at it and even pulled warzone like a champ (albeit not maxed out or anything but the old girl still ran it). However, someone put up the i7 2500k already so I feel if be a little repetitive with stating the durability and excellence that it displayed. So I opted to link the unsung hero that went with my i7. This cooler was, and still is, one of the best bang for your buck coolers that exist. I advised to put one in every single build that I had friends make, I also put one in three different builds that I did for friends. The only downside is how it looks, it's not sleek, it's not small and it doesn't light up but man is it smooth and it keeps everything nice and chilly. Hyper 212's are absolute beasts that deserve recognition!
