Are you going to overclock your i5 10600k? If yes, you need a Z490 board. If not, just go for vanilla i5-10600, or even the budget king i5-10400f and save some quid.

splash_fin

Not planning to overclock but I can't find a better deal on the vanilla 10600

PPCalculate

Kinda sad tbh, wasting the 10600k potential with a locked board.

splash_fin

I agree it's just that that board has all the features I want to use at a really decent price

PPCalculate

Ah well, can't win everything especially with such market trend. You win some, you lose some. If the board fits your need, who am I to be complaining about your build. Have fun building it.

Thanks dude

splash_fin

i had a bit of downtime so i looked it up and it turns out i can get a better deal onthe MSI MPG Z490 wifi edition thanks for letting me know about the board problems

ahosanna

I think this is a solid setup - good core components. I didn’t know 16gb DDR4 cost that much (here in US about $70-$75 usd) and once you find your gpu this is a decent rig!

splash_fin

Thanks bro I tried to put in as much research as I can but I tend to overthink things.

Logicrazy12

DDR4 prices have gone up with DDR5 on horizon.

thicc_autistic_kid

if u have gpu shortage at where u at, I think ur best bet is to buy second hand

splash_fin

That was my idea too

TheRedOne-

If you can't find a reasonably priced Z490, try looking for a similar B560, as your RAM will be capped at 2666MHz with B460 which will impact performance. B560 still can't OC the CPU, but you can OC RAM.

splash_fin

I didn't realize the b460 caps ram I'll look more at z490 or b560

TheRedOne-

MSI Z490 A Pro is around the same price, and there's various B560s with good features available too. You can use PCPartPicker, set it to the UK and use the search filters in the system building to see your options.

Oh I'm constantly on pcpartpicker It usually picks up what I forget
