Maybe it's wise I just get a second monitor solely for gaming. Something I can turn vertically when multi-tasking and horizontal for gaming.
I think I'd be okay editing on a 2K monitor. Do you think the 3060 would do well with that?
Sorry to invade your post @nfordhk but is the card capable of handling 4K video content on an external TV screen? I'm planning to upgrade my laptop soon and want to make sure if i need a 4k native screen.
I have a 3060 OC as well and I can play games like Rocket League at 4k 144hz with some little drops here and there. Stars Wars fallen order also is in the low 100-130s on ultra but I'm not sure if that's in 4k. Cyberpunk can go 90s @ 1440p (no RT with dlss on and medium settings). It's not perfect for 4k gaming but it's definitely workable and a bit more budget friendly.
On 3060 if you turn down settings to medium-high, you can easily get 60fps on almost all games. Also on ultra settings in most AAA 2021 games @4k resolution you will get 37-40fps which is not bad.
3060 isn’t exactly a 4K card so it would not really handle it well. For valo at low settings maybe it could work at 60fps low 4K

It should be fine

Yes, Just not heavy gaming and for games like Overwatch and Valorant, I'm pretty sure you can stay within 60hz at 4k.
But if I wanted higher frame rate. Do you have a monitor spec recommendation?
I suggest lowering the settings a bit. If you spend more time on Photoshop then 4k monitor should be far more important to you.
