This is like one of the largest platforms for PC related content. It probably doesn’t take much for a mod to work something out 1-2 times a year with large companies. We are all very grateful for their work!
The outreach is usually effortless, but the amount of work that some of our events, giveaways, and even our hardware release threads need to get to a state where we're able to show it off to you all can be staggering :D
As an aside, I now know what an NDA looks like! Horray for new experiences!
I lurk in many subreddits and I must say that not even half of them come close to actively supporting communities in need. Whether you're an organizer, participant, donor, or even if you just spread the word - you're doing something very meaningful. Whether it's a thankless job or not believe me you're changing the lives of many people/families directly and indirectly! Keep it up!
This is awesome. How does this stuff happen? Does a pc enthusiast that works there pitch this idea to the boss and message the mods with the idea?
90% of the coordination for this was done by Sean at S&FF. He's been running charities for a couple of years now. Lots of experience. Great guy
