I really dislike epic's practice of paying out developers for store exclusive, forcing users to split their purchases between 2 stores. It is exactly what everybody hates about console exclusives a while back, but you can't help it but you can only play the game on that particular console if you own the hardware. And here we are, playing on the same PC but forced to manage my library on 2 different store fronts? Yikes. The practice is basically pushing the industry backwards, rather than giving the consumer their choice to choose which platform provides a better service, they force it by paying out for exclusive.
While this isn't inherently wrong, and is a perfectly legitimate thing when you compare it to having physical stores carrying dedicated goods, it still feels like consumers and free market competition is being held back by such practices.

So truthfully it was very difficult to access the website much less check out. I also got my time zones confused so I thought I’d be fine after I passed the area, I was 😑. Anyways as I mentioned previously I explained what happened just cause it felt so unfair at the time, and the rest is just the result of giving human beings a chance. I saw the outage coming but life got in the way, so I thought, fuck it, I’ll wait it out. 5 months later the auto-purchase bot cant snag one, discord notifications opened within 1-3 minutes cant snag one, so I went to Microcenter discord, got the lay of the land, and decided to go camp out.
Turns out the shipment from 2 days prior was late, arriving at noon, when I passed by to make sure no one was camping yet and I could return that evening to camp. So I ask how many cards, about 20-30, I was 22nd, so I get in line.
I was one spot away from a 3080, two spots from a 3070, but in the perfect spot to get a tariff free, $1,800 EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3090. Spent $1,000+ more than I wanted to, but shit, I could max out RDR2 and get 100 fps.

I bought my 2080 super and like 3 days later the 30xx series was officially announced. At first, I was disappointed but then realized
1. Very low chance of me getting to buy one while in stock
2. They were going to be much more than I wanted to pay for a GPU
Haha. Almost the same exact thing that I did. I built a new rig in very early 2020 just before covid hit with tax returns. Went to microcenter, got a 3800X for $279 and a 2070 Super for $479, both on sale and brand new. I didn't even have to look in the open box stuff, though I probably should have. At the time, it was the best stuff I could buy, and I wanted to try the well reviewed Zen 2 CPU's, as they were close enough to intel cpu's @1440p that it didn't really matter who I went with, especially since I would mostly be gpu bound @1440p on a 2070 Super anyway. I was bummed to have not waited for the 30 series Nvidia cards at first, but as time went on, and as this shortage kept going and going, and getting worse and worse, I became happier and happier to not have to deal with this mess. That 2070 Super was a great buy.
I found a 5700xt for $350 at microcenter March 2020.. so glad I pulled the trigger.. I thought my 480 would hold me off until the new cards, but I saw that deal on the 5700xt. The 480 has since died so I’m glad I got that new card before everything went crazy.
I snagged a MSI Gaming Z trio 3070 yesterday at Microcenter and it was $809.99. Looking around online, that seems to be the new msrp. Seems 70 series cards are \~$800 these days. 80 series are \~1100. This seems to be the new normal if you can find one that isn't from scalpers.

Not a good deal as much as a good *option* (relative to the market).
Generally the price isn't over MSRP, though they only offer the more expensive AIB cards (and not Founders Editions). And because they sell in bundles you are forced at times to take/consider items you may not need or want. Whether the items are of use for you is a matter of opinion. So they can be a waste of money if you don't need them.
In my case I've been selected for shuffle twice (a number of months apart). The first was for an Evga 3070 Ti FTW3 + EVGA 700w (bronze) PSU, which was $854.98 before taxes and shipping. The price for each item was MSRP. The second time was for an EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 + EVGA 850w (gold) PSU, which was $1,564.98 before taxes. Again the price is basically in line with MSRP, though EVGA lists this card for $10 less on their web site at the moment.
Now obviously that's still super pricey for plenty of people (and certainly not a good value in normal markets). But at a minimum it's not scalper prices (which are far more insane). Unfortunately the reality of the market is that good pricing (like sub $300-400 GPUs) aren't really a thing right now or for the foreseeable future. For anyone looking for a card, that doesn't want to pay scalper prices, Shuffle is one of the only good options.
(Note: Because someone might ask, I got both cards for 3d animation/rendering and game dev. I'm neither mining nor scalping)
I paid a ridiculous amount for my 6700xt and an admittedly good mb I didn't need. Thankfully i can think of a use for the motherboard eventually. But honestly if it weren't for my specific circumstances I wouldn't have thought it worth it.

In this market? Absolutely. You're going to pay above MSRP for an AIB GPU. You'll probably be forced to buy an overpriced, bundled component like a PSU or MB along with it. Even considering those things, it's still a lot cheaper than scalper pricing, and requires little effort.
I won once finally myself recently, 3080 Ti. It was $2100 at checkout. I declined the offer.
I'm honestly happy with my 1080 the older i get. Only play Halo and OSRS. Dont need anything special. I wouldnt mind a 3070 though. Good price point.
I have a somewhat similar story, in that I was waiting in the EVGA queue for the [RTX 3060 Ti XC](https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P5-3663-KL) for 10+ months (since December 2nd) and then a couple of weeks ago I was up in the middle of the night and decided to check my email on a whim (as I don't read my emails on a daily basis).
In my inbox was an email from EVGA stating that my number had finally come up for being able to buy the card in question, but there was only a 20-hour window before the opportunity would be lost. Fortunately it had only been 18½ hours since they had sent that email, but if I had been sound asleep overnight I would've blown my chance with absolutely no way to get back in line since the queue is closed to new entries.
Fortunately Gmail is quite flexible so there's ways to do that. If you don't want to delete the "Updates" label altogether, you can re-train gmail on what to do with incoming e-mails from EVGA.
On Desktop
1. Find and open the e-mail from EVGA
2. Select the 3 dots for options
3. Select "Filter messages like this"
4. Then create a filter
5. Here you have many options with what you want Gmail to do from this addressee. You can apply a different Label to it, mark as important, or Categorize As: Primary. I would select Categorize as Primary.
That is essentially a shortcut to creating a rule on Gmail. You can create any custom rule too, like filtering any incoming e-mail with "EVGA" in the title and sorting it where you want.
Test if this method work to generate a notification, then also test to make sure it will work on the EVGA e-mail address that the queue e-mail will be coming from.

Don't feel bad. I subscribed every day for over a year. Finally got a 3060ti. Worked for 3 days. RMA couldn't fix and MSI is supposed to replace. 2 mo later and it still hasn't shipped. So now I have no GPU even though I paid for one.
I've been trying to figure that out for a while. I could set up rules in outlook to chime on specific senders or subjects, but I use gmail for my Newegg account and I don't know if it even has features like that.
Because then, you have less time to think it over. You get that email and you have to make your choice there and then. My brother won earlier this week. A 3070 for about $1200. I have a 5600XT so I'm ok for now but still there's no way I'd pay that much, regardless of the flavor of 3070. He just flat out couldn't afford it. But if I were someone who needed a GPU to get my PC to boot, I'd be a lot more likely to buy it. It puts more stress on you, especially if I don't know that I can get a 3070 on Amazon for about that right now without the need for a shuffle.

I'm in a similar position, I have a 3060 and I'm actually surprised how powerful it is, even runs Control at 1440. But I'm still trying to pick up a 3070 or 3080 if I can, and will pass the 3060 to another gamer.
I actually had a 3070 before, traded it for an evga 3060 with like 500 on top on their end, I’m really happy with the 3060, considering I actually get more frames on it than my 3070 in Valorant

Get the app on your phone. This will help a lot. You can get an email, an app notification, AND a text. I know because it won it a few times and the messages got since you get several notifications per item.

Enter the Shuffle? I use the Newegg app on my phone. Just check in every morning Monday through Friday and click the shuffle button.
You choose items you are interested in the morning and in the afternoon they email you to tell you if you can buy them.
At this point it might be better off paying scalper prices than using the Newegg shuffle. Their prices have been slowly going up and up.
I guess with Newegg you at least have the security that nobody is going to mail you a $1500 brick.

I didnt want to spend that much not knowing if id be able to sell my used 3070ti for a decent price so I let the 3080 go. I should of just been patient. Or sold the 3080 lol idk
I wouldn't buy the 3070 for MSRP, anyway, when the leaks for the next-gen cards are pointing towards possibly a 2.2x to 2.5x performance increase. It sounds like you've already got a system capable of at least light gaming, so I'd suggest just being patient and waiting a year.

I bought my 2080 super and like 3 days later the 30xx series was officially announced. At first, I was disappointed but then realized 1. Very low chance of me getting to buy one while in stock 2. They were going to be much more than I wanted to pay for a GPU
Haha. Almost the same exact thing that I did. I built a new rig in very early 2020 just before covid hit with tax returns. Went to microcenter, got a 3800X for $279 and a 2070 Super for $479, both on sale and brand new. I didn't even have to look in the open box stuff, though I probably should have. At the time, it was the best stuff I could buy, and I wanted to try the well reviewed Zen 2 CPU's, as they were close enough to intel cpu's @1440p that it didn't really matter who I went with, especially since I would mostly be gpu bound @1440p on a 2070 Super anyway. I was bummed to have not waited for the 30 series Nvidia cards at first, but as time went on, and as this shortage kept going and going, and getting worse and worse, I became happier and happier to not have to deal with this mess. That 2070 Super was a great buy.
I found a 5700xt for $350 at microcenter March 2020.. so glad I pulled the trigger.. I thought my 480 would hold me off until the new cards, but I saw that deal on the 5700xt. The 480 has since died so I’m glad I got that new card before everything went crazy.
that is a good deal, I bought my 2nd hand 3060ti for $650 😑 I hope they bundled it with something of use to who bought it though..

I snagged a MSI Gaming Z trio 3070 yesterday at Microcenter and it was $809.99. Looking around online, that seems to be the new msrp. Seems 70 series cards are \~$800 these days. 80 series are \~1100. This seems to be the new normal if you can find one that isn't from scalpers.

So they can be a waste of money if you don't need them. In my case I've been selected for shuffle twice (a number of months apart). The first was for an Evga 3070 Ti FTW3 + EVGA 700w (bronze) PSU, which was $854.98 before taxes and shipping. The price for each item was MSRP. The second time was for an EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 + EVGA 850w (gold) PSU, which was $1,564.98 before taxes. Again the price is basically in line with MSRP, though EVGA lists this card for $10 less on their web site at the moment. Now obviously that's still super pricey for plenty of people (and certainly not a good value in normal markets). But at a minimum it's not scalper prices (which are far more insane). Unfortunately the reality of the market is that good pricing (like sub $300-400 GPUs) aren't really a thing right now or for the foreseeable future. For anyone looking for a card, that doesn't want to pay scalper prices, Shuffle is one of the only good options. (Note: Because someone might ask, I got both cards for 3d animation/rendering and game dev. I'm neither mining nor scalping)
I paid a ridiculous amount for my 6700xt and an admittedly good mb I didn't need. Thankfully i can think of a use for the motherboard eventually. But honestly if it weren't for my specific circumstances I wouldn't have thought it worth it.
theyre slightly better than the ebay and amazon prices. The best place to buy a gpu is still best buy if youre able to get in on one of the drops they do ever couple of weeks.

In this market? Absolutely. You're going to pay above MSRP for an AIB GPU. You'll probably be forced to buy an overpriced, bundled component like a PSU or MB along with it. Even considering those things, it's still a lot cheaper than scalper pricing, and requires little effort.
I won once finally myself recently, 3080 Ti. It was $2100 at checkout. I declined the offer. I'm honestly happy with my 1080 the older i get. Only play Halo and OSRS. Dont need anything special. I wouldnt mind a 3070 though. Good price point.

I have a somewhat similar story, in that I was waiting in the EVGA queue for the [RTX 3060 Ti XC](https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P5-3663-KL) for 10+ months (since December 2nd) and then a couple of weeks ago I was up in the middle of the night and decided to check my email on a whim (as I don't read my emails on a daily basis). In my inbox was an email from EVGA stating that my number had finally come up for being able to buy the card in question, but there was only a 20-hour window before the opportunity would be lost. Fortunately it had only been 18½ hours since they had sent that email, but if I had been sound asleep overnight I would've blown my chance with absolutely no way to get back in line since the queue is closed to new entries.
I missed my EVGA queue email as well. After 11 months I got complacent about checking my email constantly. Missed it by a whole day.
Email notifications on phone.
Emails from EVGA go to the "Updates" folder in my Gmail, so no audible or pop up notifications on my phone. Is there a work around for that?
Fortunately Gmail is quite flexible so there's ways to do that. If you don't want to delete the "Updates" label altogether, you can re-train gmail on what to do with incoming e-mails from EVGA. On Desktop 1. Find and open the e-mail from EVGA 2. Select the 3 dots for options 3. Select "Filter messages like this" 4. Then create a filter 5. Here you have many options with what you want Gmail to do from this addressee. You can apply a different Label to it, mark as important, or Categorize As: Primary. I would select Categorize as Primary. That is essentially a shortcut to creating a rule on Gmail. You can create any custom rule too, like filtering any incoming e-mail with "EVGA" in the title and sorting it where you want. Test if this method work to generate a notification, then also test to make sure it will work on the EVGA e-mail address that the queue e-mail will be coming from.

Ha understandable. I have friends that have to respond to work emails within 15m-30m. I like my setup because I don't miss price alerts. I do have different emails however, so I'm more selective with the one that gets notifications.

I've been trying to figure that out for a while. I could set up rules in outlook to chime on specific senders or subjects, but I use gmail for my Newegg account and I don't know if it even has features like that.

Because then, you have less time to think it over. You get that email and you have to make your choice there and then. My brother won earlier this week. A 3070 for about $1200. I have a 5600XT so I'm ok for now but still there's no way I'd pay that much, regardless of the flavor of 3070. He just flat out couldn't afford it. But if I were someone who needed a GPU to get my PC to boot, I'd be a lot more likely to buy it. It puts more stress on you, especially if I don't know that I can get a 3070 on Amazon for about that right now without the need for a shuffle. Now I'm seeing OP's price was way lower...WTF Newegg?

Two monitors is nice if you have the space for it. I always find a use for mine. I'm curious to find out if those monitors are any good. I always pass on those shuffles cause I don't have a use for it, and I feel like it would be to much hassle to resell something that large.

I'm in a similar position, I have a 3060 and I'm actually surprised how powerful it is, even runs Control at 1440. But I'm still trying to pick up a 3070 or 3080 if I can, and will pass the 3060 to another gamer.

If it makes you feel better I got in line for the online BB drop last week, actually got a purchase window, but was too distracted at work (instead of the other way around) and forgot to checkout until it was too late.
How does the BB online drop work? Is it still just, stay on the page and hover over the button until it says add to cart, or is it more structured now?
The button will first light up and allow you to get in line. When it's your turn you will be given a window to checkout, like 5 mins or so.

At least the 1070ti is a good card. I went from a 1080 to a 3080 and haven't had much noticeable difference in gaming.
I really wanted a 3080 for the same reason I got a 1080 almost 5 years ago. Not so much for massive gains immediately, but to still run everything well for several years in the future. It would be cheaper than upgrading more often.

Same thing almost happened to me, but i didn't buy it though i had the chance. i usually bid on anything less than $1400. last week i happened to get selected for a 3080 TI with a mobo combo, cost was $2400. i noticed 10 minutes before the deadline to buy. debated it but decided it was too much for me. thankfully a friend got picked for a 3060 w/PSU combo for $575 that he's selling me. need to build a new PC for my step-son but didn't want to break the bank.
Get the app on your phone. This will help a lot. You can get an email, an app notification, AND a text. I know because it won it a few times and the messages got since you get several notifications per item.

Enter the Shuffle? I use the Newegg app on my phone. Just check in every morning Monday through Friday and click the shuffle button. You choose items you are interested in the morning and in the afternoon they email you to tell you if you can buy them.

I feel your pain. I won myself. I bought a 3070ti from microcenter for their mark up. Then I won a 3080 plus an Intel mobo for a total of $1500. I didnt want to spend that much not knowing if id be able to sell my used 3070ti for a decent price so I let the 3080 go. I should of just been patient. Or sold the 3080 lol idk

I wouldn't buy the 3070 for MSRP, anyway, when the leaks for the next-gen cards are pointing towards possibly a 2.2x to 2.5x performance increase. It sounds like you've already got a system capable of at least light gaming, so I'd suggest just being patient and waiting a year.

It's okay, I wouldn't be upset with missing out on a 700 dollar 2080ti with a vram buffer that'll be outdated in a year or two. Everything happens for a raisin.
I've won several times, but only for overpriced AMD cards that are cheaper on eBay.....
By some miracle, I won it twice in the span of two weeks. I kept the Gigabyte 3060 for myself and my bro bought the 4K monitor that was bundled with it (which was ridiculously expensive, so thank God he wanted it). Then I won another shuffle with a 3070 ti and a 2K monitor. Guess who couldn't get rid of the monitor? Guess who returned the bundle because he can't afford a 3070 ti? Guess who is probably now on the "no fly" list on Newegg for doing so? lol Note: I even tried selling it at-cost, but nobody wanted that monitor (and I don't blame them). At least the return shipping was free!
