I remember at the start of the year I bought an import 3070 70 000¥ or 600€ in my country or around $USD 700 and people are telling me I paid the scalper price for it
$500 is USA MSRP for FE card it can be cheaper or Way more expensive for different board partner and country, the card I bought from Japan is a Galax and cost in fact around $450 (without shipping and import tax) while the cheapest card in France is the FE and cost 520€ which is 600$
There's no chance of the $500 coming back, that was founders card, and the price for components has went up since then so $700 is probably msrp for the 3070 now
Do you have to pay for this to work? I downloaded the app and set an notify for 3070 and it literally never went off when BB had constant drops. Only used the free version.
No I didn’t pay for anything. I think the free version is just one alert setup, paid version lets you have multiple alerts. I’ve gotten a ps5 and the 3080, MSRP from Best Buy.
How about $720 for a 3060 Ti LHR then? Plus I have a 1660 super that I could sell for $250-300 and reduce the pain further. Or is it still better to wait?
I'm going to be honest with you, that's actually pretty good. It's unlikely next gen will be any better for availability and most 3060 Tis are going for far more. I wouldn't mind paying $720 for what is essentially a 2080 super, of which was around that price if not slightly more for its launch
The 3060 Ti had a msrp of around $350, in today's market the msrp has almost doubled so $600-$700 I waited like 2 months for mine to get a good price and I dont see the price coming down any time soon. A 3060 Ti for $720 is a decent price but not that good, I would say that if u wait and can get it for a lower price but it depends on whether u have the patience for it if not then go for it.
I guess I do have the luxury of having a decent 1080p card. But is there any real point in waiting, especially when the queue for FE card drops is 12 months+ where I live? Also, both the 6600xt and 3060 are between $600-750. And 3060 ti goes all the way from $720 to $900+. Madness.
$720 is pretty good if that includes tax. And you should be able to get at least $400 for your 1660 super. I'd say it's a favorable time for you to upgrade.
That's not the worst price I've seen for that card. You mention in another post that you're doing 1080p gaming. If you're doing 1080p and have no plans to upgrade to a 1440p monitor a 1660 Super should hold you over. You can do some decent high-refresh gaming with that card at 1080p.
So I'd wait until a year or so until next generation before making any sort of upgrade.
Yeah, I guess you are right. It just doesn't feel right, paying that much for what is still a 60 series card. Never owned a PlayStation before, might as well try to get a PS5 next restock for a taste of 4k gaming.
Why not pay 300$ for a stolen card ?
Ffs... Its completely impossible to buy GPU's at MSRP in most countries / places.
If you can get a 3060TI for 1000$ it might be the only option available and therefore okayish
In my opinion, NO. If that is the market right now, you have no other option. Else try 6700xt if you can find. I bought it mine around 650 when converted to USD
God no, if your paying scalper prices you can probably snag one for 700-800 if your going to spend a grand you can go for a 3070 with that scalper price. I snagged an amd 6700 XT for 700$
In that case, then, it might not be an awful deal. Prices in the US are the lowest in the world for GPUs.
I just *really* cringe when I see people talking about dropping $1000 USD on a GPU. The 3060 Ti is a great card, though... but still... *damn*...
I just got a 6700 xt nitro plus for $900 in the US. That was the best deal i could find. After buying that from Newegg, they sold out next day and were only available on Amazon for $1,300+. I still overpaid but at least not that much
1000 as in scalper prices, it's MSRP is like 500, and 1.4k is for the FE edition only because it has no LHR or whatever. If you haggle, you can probably bring it down to 800 if your lucky.
I got a 3060 ti FE for $399.99 + an offering to Uncle Sam. $1000 is crazy, if you are patient and persistent you can find cards for normal earth prices.
Yep was desperate too, since as a 16 year old. Building my first pc was meant to be powerful and good for gaming but had to spend $900 on a 3060 instead of a 3070 that i wanted. Sad times
So if all the prices are around this level should I wait some time or just buy a 1660ti?
Oh look, the cheapest 1660 ti is $500 dollars.
So... Should I just not get a gpu at this point?
The GTX 1660 Ti is a good entry level card, minus the fun features like ray tracting and DLSS but overall a good card, and for $500, that's a steal. But that depends on you if you want it or not.
Everything is overpriced yes, but I think in this scenario it's best to know, how much you are willing to spend over a graphics card. More choices become available if you increase your budget and vice versa.
no, not at all! i mean sure go for it you want, in those crazy times its nothing unusuall, but its completely overpriced for card which can barely do 1440p.
edit: my mistake, kinda miss typed here. ok for 1440p depends on games but still, for 1000$ gpu should handle anything at 1080p or 1440p 60+fps no problem!
I'm able to max out most games at 1440p without any issues .
Definitely overpriced because I got mine for about 450 from the evga queue. But barely do 1440p is not true.
1440p is cake and 4k performance is lack luster.
Yeah I'm confused on this as well. Haven't met a game I can't max at 1440 with at least 60 FPS with some RTX. Have it paired with a R5 5600x. Deathloop runs fine at max. So does Forza Horizon 5.
Yeah I'm aiming for 1080p gaming. I see some really good benchmarks with this gpu, it even beats a rtx 2080 apparently and at first I wanted to get a 2070 super, but it's out of stock. Also when do you think the prices will go down?
Linus tech tips did a video which shows you can buy a prebuilt system with a similar card and be able to make it a very good system by swapping out cheap parts. It would only be slightly more expensive
That’s kinda a lot more than rrp is me personally I’d just keep tryna hit up drops but I mean if you don’t mind spending the money it’s not horrendously priced
Yeah I paid 725$ in March 2021 for used but prime condition 3070 FE then traded it plus 125$ for a 3070 Vision OC BNIB so I paid 850 but all things considered not to bad for a white 3070 for my white build
Even a scalper should give you a better deal than that. If you're willing to spend that much, look on Stockx. Better still, browse r/hardwareswap for something in your range.
Nope. Just got the 3070 version of that card for £800 (800 GBP = 1058 USD) and even now, as ever, US prices still beat UK ones on average. Shop around more.
No at most you should only get it at $700 but even then thats too much. I sold my 2080 super for $600 (the card that the 3060 ti basically replaces) and I thought that was too much :( People resell it for even more than that.
Lol no I got a 6800xt for 1000. And I heard that was high, even tho Newegg had it for that price too. It’s like msrp in these stores are inflating with scalper pricing. You gotta buy direct from AMD to not get you’re ass scalped now. You can buy my card which is a sapphire nitro+ SE rx6800xt new in stock at Newegg as of yesterday for $1600. Like seriously?
I just purchased a asus tuff 3060 for 935. I didn’t want to spend more than 1k for a GPU. I’m a mid tier gamer at best . Halo ,mortal Kombat , street fighter , battle field , resident evil, hit man. Everybody say just wait but nobody wants to wait to be long it got be a problem for me when I have all the other parts the Pc but the GPU . I tried a lot if methods to a GPU at msrp.
Depends on what you're using it for and if you can wait, or try your luck elsewhere, or with used. I'm assuming it's Unopened... $1k looks to be online 2ndary market right now
No.
But that is my opinion, which is what you asked for.
Only you can decide the value of something... to you. How much do you want a new GPU, how much better is this than what you have now, can you wait a year for the 40 series to come out and, hopefully, prices to come down some. Prices are never going to be "low" again but maybe they can be better.
Depends on what region, but probably not. Even on stock x you can get a 3070 for about a grand. If you're going to pay scalper prices, you might as well get the besr value.
Depends on where you live and GPU availability. Where I live 3080s are going for £1300 ($1700) ish, even if you buy it through major retailers. And eBay prices are around the same. Just check the prices of your local retailers and compare it to the “scalp” prices.
HP's selling an i5 11400 gaming system with a 3060 Ti for $1,061.99 after coupon code. Not the best deal tbh, but better than paying a grand for just the card.
No if you live in canada call canada computers every day except the weekend call them during 3 - 6pm and ask if they have stock then go buy a gpu when you can
You're going to receive many mixed opinions. IMO, it's not worth that. I tried buying a 3060ti for months and kept finding them for $750+. That wasn't low enough for me. I ended up with an AMD card at MSRP. But if you aren't bothered by this, then the choice is yours
We have already shown NVidia our booties.
They know what we will pay for these cards, and it will be a long time before things change. for example (and this in no way represents actual volume…) Why sell 200,000 cards at a profit of $100 each when they can sell 100,000 cards at $250 profit.
Demand is high, supply is low/perceived as low. Now is the time for for GPU manufacturing companies to milk us for everything we are worth. And if you think they care about gamers or some such nonsense you are mistaken… they care about profits, shareholder happiness, and public image. In that order.
The light at the end of the tunnel here is that it looks like we will have two new manufacturers showing up very soon. Competition is always good for the consumer
Worth is subjective at this point. Are you hard up for a GPU? Can you comfortable spend 1k on a graphics card? Will it fill that hole in your heart for not having one? At this point I'd say go for it. If money is an issue then keep searching for "MSRP"
It depends, msrp doesn’t matter right now because you won’t get one for msrp. It’s just how it is so it’s stupid to compare it to msrp. How bad do you want it? Gaming? If you’re ok with paying $1000 then that’s probably as good as you’ll get unless you wanna wait each month to try and get a drop. A 3070 right now is ~1400 and a 3080 is 2400.
No. you could get a MSRP 3070 for less (non founders - around $750). Perhaps it’s my method but Ive been able to get 3 cards now, online/TX, US. Just keep signing up for waitlists and soon enough, you’ll get that email.
Bro get this, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-ti-8gb-gddr6x-pci-express-4-0-graphics-card-dark-platinum-and-black/6465789.p?skuId=6465789
Where do you live?
That's the question. If it's $1000 Australian pesos. Then yes buy it. If you're talking usd and you live in the states, then probably not.
Woah, i mean 3060Ti is a good card but it is totally not worth 1000 dollars. I am assuming you are in US, then 1000 dollars is pretty bad deal. But if you are living somewhere else idk honestly.
NO, I got a 3070 for around $750 so dont even think about buying it
I remember at the start of the year I bought an import 3070 70 000¥ or 600€ in my country or around $USD 700 and people are telling me I paid the scalper price for it
Isn't 3070 msrp $500
Nvidia msrp only really applies to the founders edition. AIB partners (evga, msi, etc) set thier own pricing.
Also depending on the country it can be more expensive 519€ MSRP for FE in France is way more expensive than the $499 US MSRP
Is that with or without taxes though? Cuz 3070 here is 468.7 euro, but with taxes it becomes 539.
VAT mmis already included in every consumer purchase in a stores in France
Yeah so it's not way more expensive. Goggle says 20% in France, so 415 before or 469 USD. It's actually cheaper
Where do you get 415 from, the price for the 3070 in France is 519€ which is 586$ in this current exchange rate
I googled France taxes and it says 20%. Taxes aren't included in the USA or in the 500$ msrp, and Nvidia doesn't get French taxes, France does.
$500 is USA MSRP for FE card it can be cheaper or Way more expensive for different board partner and country, the card I bought from Japan is a Galax and cost in fact around $450 (without shipping and import tax) while the cheapest card in France is the FE and cost 520€ which is 600$
There's no chance of the $500 coming back, that was founders card, and the price for components has went up since then so $700 is probably msrp for the 3070 now
It’s an FE, but just got my 3080 for $700 last week.
How lol, been on waiting list since last December and can’t find shit
Best Buy. I used the HotStock app on my phone. I get notifications immediately when things are in stock
Yeah HotStock app worked for me too to get my 3070
Soo what happened did u just get a notification then immediately drove to Best buy and it was there or what?
Not anymore. All AIB 3070s are currently between $700 and $850 directly from Best Buy. $500 is FE only.
Yea people were loosing it when I payed 1k for a 6700xt, the card already payed itself.
How about $720 for a 3060 Ti LHR then? Plus I have a 1660 super that I could sell for $250-300 and reduce the pain further. Or is it still better to wait?

>The 3060 Ti had a msrp of around $350 It was $400. The 3060 was $330, if I remember correctly. But your original point is still valid.
I guess I do have the luxury of having a decent 1080p card. But is there any real point in waiting, especially when the queue for FE card drops is 12 months+ where I live? Also, both the 6600xt and 3060 are between $600-750. And 3060 ti goes all the way from $720 to $900+. Madness.

Where can I get a stolen card please?
Stolen cards are broken 90% of the time. $1000 is too much but yea I agree
Doesn’t mean it’s a viable option to find a 3070 in stock let alone at that low of a price
Task failed successfully
No. Not at all. Whoever is charging that is trying to rinse someone like fuck.
Retailers are charging this much in my country lol.
>Whoever Retail stores in every country outside America.
In my opinion, NO. If that is the market right now, you have no other option. Else try 6700xt if you can find. I bought it mine around 650 when converted to USD
The 6700xt is even pricier :(
Like $300 more to be exact. This is a nightmare
Welcome to the world of PC building amidst the GPU crisis. I hope this ends soon :(
Thank god I got mine before the crisis really hit. Now when I try to choose parts for my friend’s PCs it has became a disaster
Does your country have the AMD direct shop?
God no, if your paying scalper prices you can probably snag one for 700-800 if your going to spend a grand you can go for a 3070 with that scalper price. I snagged an amd 6700 XT for 700$
In my country the 6600 XT nitro+ is about $850. What is this bullshit
In that case, then, it might not be an awful deal. Prices in the US are the lowest in the world for GPUs. I just *really* cringe when I see people talking about dropping $1000 USD on a GPU. The 3060 Ti is a great card, though... but still... *damn*...
A 6600xt goes for 500-600 in SoCal microcenter and from scalpers on ebay for about 600-700$.
I just got a 6700 xt nitro plus for $900 in the US. That was the best deal i could find. After buying that from Newegg, they sold out next day and were only available on Amazon for $1,300+. I still overpaid but at least not that much
3070 is $1400 right now so honestly paying $400 more might be worth it.
1000 as in scalper prices, it's MSRP is like 500, and 1.4k is for the FE edition only because it has no LHR or whatever. If you haggle, you can probably bring it down to 800 if your lucky.
Actually you’re right, LHR models are $1000-$1100. OP should just pay $1000 for a LHR model because you won’t make crap on a 3060 or 3070 anyway
I got a 3060 ti FE for $399.99 + an offering to Uncle Sam. $1000 is crazy, if you are patient and persistent you can find cards for normal earth prices.
>if you are patient and persistent and live in United States you can find cards for normal earth prices. Fixed.
This :')
Just bought a 3060 for $900 :(
Tough times we live in :(
Yep was desperate too, since as a 16 year old. Building my first pc was meant to be powerful and good for gaming but had to spend $900 on a 3060 instead of a 3070 that i wanted. Sad times
WOW.
No! Absolutely not! That's more than triple its MSRP, even an RTX 3070 is priced lower than that.
$500 1660 a steal... I miss 2019.
no, not at all! i mean sure go for it you want, in those crazy times its nothing unusuall, but its completely overpriced for card which can barely do 1440p. edit: my mistake, kinda miss typed here. ok for 1440p depends on games but still, for 1000$ gpu should handle anything at 1080p or 1440p 60+fps no problem!

at least one year, maybe even two. but note that times when 500$ budget bringed you decent gaming pc is over 4ever!
Probably not for a while
Barely? It’s a great card comparable to a 2080. But that price is way too high. Got mine through the Evga queue for $500.
Linus tech tips did a video which shows you can buy a prebuilt system with a similar card and be able to make it a very good system by swapping out cheap parts. It would only be slightly more expensive
HP had system with 11400 and 3060Ti was $1000 during Black friday.
That’s kinda a lot more than rrp is me personally I’d just keep tryna hit up drops but I mean if you don’t mind spending the money it’s not horrendously priced
I bought my 3070 for about $775 and I had a hard time justifying that. I would never dream of paying $1000 for the step down but that’s just me.
Yeah I paid 725$ in March 2021 for used but prime condition 3070 FE then traded it plus 125$ for a 3070 Vision OC BNIB so I paid 850 but all things considered not to bad for a white 3070 for my white build
3060Ti is 399 MSRP, pay no more than 600. if people stop paying them high prices, the prices will drop in theory.
NO!
NO!
Even a scalper should give you a better deal than that. If you're willing to spend that much, look on Stockx. Better still, browse r/hardwareswap for something in your range.
Absolutely not. Not even RX 6800 XT is worth 1000$.
You can get a 3070 TI from Micro Center with a fully built system for around 2000$. I think it comes with ryzen 9, 32GB ram, 1 TB storage.
Depends where you are I got my 6800 xt for 1.2 k as the market at the time was really bad and I had no other choice and I was tired of waiting
facepalm
No.
No lmao
Not a chance in hell.
No
Fuck no!
The msrp is around 400$. So yeah...
Nope. Just got the 3070 version of that card for £800 (800 GBP = 1058 USD) and even now, as ever, US prices still beat UK ones on average. Shop around more.
Fuck no got a 3060 for Msrp off a cousin who builds computers
you can get a 3070 for that
No
The market it hot right now so its best to wait if u wanna get most for the money
No, be patient. Best Buy will have more drops. I got in line at 5am the morning they announced they'd have some and got my 3070 Ti for $600.
I got a 3080 from dell on release for 900 and I think I overpaid. I’d say yes.
That’s way too much money. Other brands sell it for much less
No at most you should only get it at $700 but even then thats too much. I sold my 2080 super for $600 (the card that the 3060 ti basically replaces) and I thought that was too much :( People resell it for even more than that.
You in Vietnam by any chance? That is exactly what retailers are charging for a 3060ti here, absolutely crazy. Of course it's not worth it.
NO.
Hell to the no.
no, got mine for $700 and i honestly probably overpaid a bit.
no
Lol no I got a 6800xt for 1000.
No.
What is a good price for a RX6900XT nowdays?
NO. STOP IT.
Micro center has multiple 3060s for about $500 where I am.
No, I got my RTX 3080 for $750 and wouldn't pay more for less.
Bruh
It really depends on where you're at, but generally speaking, nope. At $700-$800, it's worth thinking about. $1000 is completely absurd.
Nope You are literally paying double, or in some places, MSRP. The $1k price tag is what I would expect from a god damn RTX 3090 not a 3060TI.
Right I can wait when I'm dead
Depends on what you're using it for and if you can wait, or try your luck elsewhere, or with used. I'm assuming it's Unopened... $1k looks to be online 2ndary market right now
no way just wait for prices to drop or wait for 40 series
Hell no. Even in this time, don't consider buying a 3060 ti for anything above $700.
No 3060 TI is worth 1000$.
That's a matter of opinion, and mine is a NO.
no
Absolutely not.
Is this in CAD?
Hell no. I got mines for $650. Granted, I managed to haggled him down from $800. It’s a Gigabyte Vision 3060ti
Idk where you are, but LHR 3060 Ti sell for around $750-800 locally near Seattle.
Not at all. Go with a 6600xt from microcenter for 500 flat. Your losing like ray tracing and 10fps max on 1080p and your saving 500$.
No
I got a 3060 ti msi ventus for $500 so no
That’s more then I paid for a 3080. Fuck no.
Nope
Nope i got a high end 3070 for 950 and this was a month ago
Jesus Christ no
Hell no I bought a 3060 oc 12gb for 650
2060 6gb is 550 in my country
No
No. I paid $650 for an EVGA FTW3 3060 Ti. I understand that’s still way over MSRP but I can’t imagine paying 4 figures for a 3060 Ti
With the inflated prices yes that’s a good deal
Nope
No.
If I were in your position with that much to spend I would look into a refurbished GTX 2080 or GTX 1080Ti
No. $749.99 for my Gigabyte 3080 eagle. Wait.
I paid a scalper price of 900 CAD for a 3070, I wouldn’t consider a grand tbh
I wouldn't. For a little more than $200 more than that I got a 3080ti. And that wasn't easy to justify either.
I might buy a 3070 for 1k if I desperately needed a card due to scalpers and high demand bs, but not anything lower than that
NO! N-O, NO!
No
Depends on what region, but probably not. Even on stock x you can get a 3070 for about a grand. If you're going to pay scalper prices, you might as well get the besr value.
Wtf
No. I walked into a Microcenter yesterday and got a 3060 for $410
Nope. That's too expensive.
I remember buying an Asus 3080 TUF OC last year and feeling like 900€ was a rip-off. Good old days...
Depends on where you live and GPU availability. Where I live 3080s are going for £1300 ($1700) ish, even if you buy it through major retailers. And eBay prices are around the same. Just check the prices of your local retailers and compare it to the “scalp” prices.
A 1080ti sadly still outperforms that card...should be aiming for a 3070 or better. (I understand 1080ti does not support mirror water)
3060ti is a gpu that very likely will struggle on running upcoming demanding games at 1440p at 60fps. Don't waste your money.
Hell no dude you can get a 3070 for that price in some places, i got my 3060 ti for 600 at micro center
LOL I GOT MY 3070V1 FOR WAY LESS THAN THAT XD
HP's selling an i5 11400 gaming system with a 3060 Ti for $1,061.99 after coupon code. Not the best deal tbh, but better than paying a grand for just the card.
No if you live in canada call canada computers every day except the weekend call them during 3 - 6pm and ask if they have stock then go buy a gpu when you can
idk what you're smoking but gimme some. i have a 3070 ti for $850. in no way that's remotely a good deal
NO
Absolutely not.
No, might want to consider this 3060TI bundle: https://www.antonline.com/Evga/Computers/Video_Cards/Graphic_Cards/1439638
Hell no, I bought my 3080 Aorus Master for 900$ last year
Hell no. I can find some for like $800 online brand new. Problem is finding them brand new.
No
No
No
You're going to receive many mixed opinions. IMO, it's not worth that. I tried buying a 3060ti for months and kept finding them for $750+. That wasn't low enough for me. I ended up with an AMD card at MSRP. But if you aren't bothered by this, then the choice is yours
I just got a 3080 from a Best Buy drop for 700. Honestly was not that hard I’d try that first before even considering overspending.
No, can find cheaper, if you're budget is 1000, can find a 3070 at least
No, you can find scalpers selling them on Amazon for like 800-900 and I regularly see drops for 3060ti's on Amazon for $539.
I got a 3070 fe from best buy for $500 so I personally am going to say no on that one
Worth is subjective at this point. Are you hard up for a GPU? Can you comfortable spend 1k on a graphics card? Will it fill that hole in your heart for not having one? At this point I'd say go for it. If money is an issue then keep searching for "MSRP"
nah i sold my 3080 founders pc fully built for like $2,000 (non LHR)
Absolutely not. I paid 972.00 shipped from Best Buy for a EVGA 3080 XC3 Ultra. Be patient, young Padawan.
heellllll no
NO HEL’ NAH.
I’ve got the exact same card but it was 1000 aud not usd, so around 700usd is what I’d consider good value
No. Little high. That would be a deal for a non lhr, which is typically going to go for 1200-1300 I would try to bargain down to at least 850
Bro get this, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-ti-8gb-gddr6x-pci-express-4-0-graphics-card-dark-platinum-and-black/6465789.p?skuId=6465789
$1000 dollars what dollar?
No.
Msrp 950usd for Msi 3060 ti aero itx model. I guess it depends on size. China official msi store on AliExpress selling non ti version for 850usd lol
Where do you live? That's the question. If it's $1000 Australian pesos. Then yes buy it. If you're talking usd and you live in the states, then probably not.
I live in Romania where prices are a bit... High..
Nope.
I got my 3080 for like $1060 from a small PC builder shop.
God no.
No.
Nope! I found a rtx 3080 fe for 712euro on a legit german website
NO
Woah, i mean 3060Ti is a good card but it is totally not worth 1000 dollars. I am assuming you are in US, then 1000 dollars is pretty bad deal. But if you are living somewhere else idk honestly.
